I started thinking about the good times I spent with you and came to realize there are too many to share. You knew how to make people laugh, cry and get mad. Most of all you knew how to make people feel like they belonged!!!!!! No one was left out when you where around. People gravitated to your laughter and your spirit. I drove with Lee to his first WFFC and I can tell you it was 1 hell of a trip. Brandy and my wife got there a few days in. The 3 of us drove around looking for Lee and finally found him at the Hellfish tent. Papa Hellfish had gone in that day on a jump Lee had videoed. He was trashed playing the centinal game......That was his way of paying respect. We stuffed him in the back of the cart and off we went.He played as hard as he worked and always took time to get to know everyone on the DZ. No mater what he enjoyed life and Loved skydiving. He couldn't fly for shit when I first met him but kept learning and became 1 of the best video flyer's around. According to Hans there is a lawsuit because of the type of activities being discussed here. By that I mean a lack of respect for the life of others . I never said farmers were responsible for any of this. I did say that the only side of the story being told was the one from the farm and not the one from SDA. Heres a thought..... What if she isnt dating him any more but he couldnt let it go. I dont know much about taterhead or Jill but I do know the last time I saw her 3 months or so ago she was in the hanger crying because he called her from the farm and was driving to SDA to start shit with her or,and who ever she was (fucking).That was her response when asked why she was crying. Having more than 500 handycam jumps myself I cant figure out how his handycam ever got close to the reserve deployment handle during opening. out front overhead,around and underneath during freefall then over the head and turned up for the pull then out front and rotated up for the opening sequence. It looks more likely from his grasping the riser with his right hand during opening that he deployed the reserve with the secondary reserve lanyard. It looks like he may have grabbed it during deployment. How ever if he did deploy the reserve with the handycam I would have a talk with this TI about why it was anywhere near the reserve deployment handle before during or after deployment of the main. When using the handycam TI's must always be aware of its position in reference to their students hands and their handles. I have deployed the main and reserve with my cam on and it is in my opinion hard to get the cam in to where it could grab the handle itself. I would love to see the whole video. Tandem progression Offers the first time jumper the chance to skydive with the comfort of knowing the TI is going to perform his job even if they dont. That means they are more likely to enjoy themselves more and have less stress associated with skydiving. It allows the TI to build confidence in the student of their ability to save their own life. Someone who already has that will sign up for AFF after their first Tandem someone with out that is more likely to sign up for Tandem progression or not at all. Bob you are the kind of human we all hope to be. You are the teacher the friend the mentor person we all could look up to and hope to one day be like. I admire your approach to everything you do. When applyed correctly the harness sits on the shoulder of the passenger. Most TI's have had at one time or another the harness slip off the shoulder. There are a couple of things you can do to stop this. 1 tighten the TI's chest strap so that the hooks are inside the passengers shoulders and not pulling the harness off the passenger. 2 Use a good harness like the Sigma harness were the chest strap does not freely slide down once put into possition by the TI. I have found that strong harness chest straps will fall and move when outward pressure is applyed from above. 3 Duct-tape would always be of assistance in keeping the harness over the shoulder of a passenger with no arm. The loading forces from opening are in the other direction. Yes I would consider taking this passenger. Chance is very very good I would take them with a little extra training and attention.
