I think Iceman is out with a bad leg. I'll be glad to be part of the base I look at it this way, I have jumped with Scotty Carbone and lived to tell about it. !
-
Oh no, the other soccer moms don't know about your evil dark side How terrible and corrupt you are......hehehehe
-
Let me see if I understand where you are coming from. 1. You are a new skydiver who just got their "A" lic. and lacks any experience or knowledge about the decision that you are making. 2. The people that you are attacking are the people that collectively will probably forget more about skydiving than you will ever know. The same people that are trying to help you be safe. 3. You are ignoring the warnings from those same people and also the recommendations of the manufacture. 4. You believe that the decision you make is your right because it only affects YOU. So if you come in uncontrolled or hot and hit another skydiver or land off and hit some innocent person because you know better it only affects YOU. YOU could end up dead as a result of your wrong decisions and will not have to deal with the aftermath of the pain, suffering and loss of a fellow skydiver that we cared about enough to be abused by for helping her! Or deal with other injuries or worse of other people that you decisions could affect. You really need to think about what you have said.

7 CELL or 9 CELL for NOVICE'S first Main?
NightJumper replied to iamspoild's topic in Gear and Rigging
Can you add my name to your insurance policy? -
I personally don't buy PD reserves because they are made outside of the USA (Honduras). There are plenty of equally good reserves made in America for the same price.

oooh, pretty! Our new DZ!!!

I have only one question........where the hell is the grass? -
I will try and answer some of the questions above. 1. Yes, a cutaway is required to be a tandem master/instructor. 2. Yes there will be a cutaway rig and rigger at the boogie. 3. FYI the skyhook only works with a deployed main. It serves no purpose in the reserve deployment in the cases of a reserve only deployment, bag lock, horseshoe, bridle wrap or PC in tow. If you get the chance to try the cutaway rig with the skyhook try it.

The problem is YOU are in the wrong part of Florida Heading out the door for my second jump of the day And no, I don't suck because I CAN jump. Hope your skies clear.
-
Check with Strong, they had a per jump program going with their tandems. Other than that it's Jump Shack or RWS.

18" to 23" is typical. This is a personal preference. I have short arms so I made my risers 19". My only recomendations is to get velcroless toggles and front riser loops.

I didn't say not to get me a bottle, I just said share it with everyone else I just took it as being an honor to be in her pressence or in honor that Lisa is the Bytch
-
Yes, I will be there. Obviously Florida loves the Bytch more than California since they never had a boogie in her honor!!! Even the name of this boogie should tell you what a kick ass good time will be had. All of the who’s who should be there and in fact any one that does not show up should be ashamed to show their face in public!!! Rantoul should fear the thought of how big this boogie could grow.

Cara (see avatar) knows the best trick of all......ready, set, go 56 jumps and counting!
-
Pros: helps people that are not flexable. Cons: cost more (option on most rigs) and is two more things that you have to check.
-
So let me see if I understand, you want to downsize 90 sq. ft. in one jump with an experience level of four jumps, loading the new canopy at 1.12 (about the max limit at best) with a reserve (your last chance) loaded at 1.35 (not smart), no cypress or RSL. Can I be listed on your insurance policy? If your DZ doesn't have different size canopies, go to other DZ's after your AFF and down size slowly over several jumps. 290 to 260 to 230 to 210 etc. This will safely transition you with the help of a coach and/or instructor, build confidence and needed skills and give you a chance to jump different gear.
-
Call around and see who has what (hint, someone like skybytch) in your size and go jump it. The more rigs you jump the more you will be educated. You might be surprised that what you thought you wanted might not end up being what you like, is comfortable and fits your needs. If you are in the sport for the long haul take your time.

If you had one or two I would buy that line, but a bucketfull....NOT!

Remember this guys the next time she gives you the innocent soccer mom line.
