I partied and jumped with the guys from orange last year at couch. That DZ will definately go on our list.
-
can't we just hook both canopies up at the same time in your rig?
-
Shhhhhhh......be nice we are sweet and innocent girls......
-
That would mean you are tagging along....so as Derek says NO
-
errr.....sweety...did you read the post....We did those DZs last year
-
hahaha....how come I have a feeling those are all the DZs you can get to
-
ohhhh...the cabana boy survey.....I'll modify it for the occation.
-
Come on I know there has to be more DZs out there beside Skydive Atlanta, or we will be going thier by defaut. Don't worry Tami we will come visit you when we hit the tunnel sometime this spring no matter what.
-
ohhhhh....now that would be fun.....finally someone with some good advice That is almost a 5:1 WL
-
Ok guys enough of this stuff. Lisa will lock this thread in a heart beat if she has to come back here. No more name calling or pointing fingers. How about we stick to the topic at hand......Cyndi and I jumping Derek's VX60.
-
Levin, Actually he has been around more than a year, closer to 2, has about 300 jumps and actually learned out at Spaceland.
-
Hey just thought of it, since a 108 fits in pookie bears container and isn't smushy like his 60, and you now have an MZS that would probably hold a 60 all nice and snuggly. Maybe we can convince him to let us take the 60 with us on vacation.
-
how come I have a feeling they are only going to get worse.
-
No hop and pops don't, they just take longer. Which is the same reason I dump while still tracking, to give myself more foward than down during the opening.....There is nothing like watching your booties inflate infront of you just as you get in the saddle
-
Actually I have a leg mount that I use for solos and hop and pops. My rigger/sweety made me one, and I can very easily pull up a solo jump. So since I use the same kind of alti that you 2 are saying is correct, are you still going to say I'm off by 300 ft?

Truth about Cats and Dogs..... I didn't know you were into chick flicks?

On this same thought the cobalt and the crossfire don't fly the same at all either. Having put several jumps on a Cobalt 120 and a ton on a crossfire 116, the cobalt was very twitchy with alot of oversteer. The crossfire felt like you were flying a much bigger canopy, but had a longer recovery arc when comeing out of turns and dives. When giving the cobalt toggle imput it came to a stop, were as the crossfire it will plane out then you have to milk out the rest of your flare to make it stop. Basically it forces you to fly it all the way to a stop, and isn't very fogiving to "saber" flares. A cobalt jumper with over 800 jumps on a cobalt 120 and about 40 or 50 on a cobalt 95 jumped my crossfire 104 this weekend and he said it glided much better than his cobalt he didn't expect to make it back to the DZ since his 120 wouldn't have, not only did he make it back, he had enough alt to hook it, which he said he was very happy he only did a 180 cause it dove alot more and instead of planeing out like his cobalt does, it kept diving, and actually had to give it toggle imput to make it come out of a dive. He still had a very pretty swoop, but you could tell it surprised him and he wasn't used to that kind of flare. I would definately say demo them all. They all have good traits and they all have bad traits, what some people think are good traits others think they are bad traits and vice versa. Personally I'm going to stay with my crossfire because it flies the way I like, my friend Cyndi is sticking with her Stiletto cause it flies the way she likes which is actually the opposite of what I like. So demo them all, and have fun doing it. Also demo a nitron, I've only heard good things so far.

Actually I already jump a digitude, and I'm going to see if I can get a screen shot of the proof from my protrack. Of course that does explain why I was confused as to why the angle I look at my altimeter would be off. It's digital doesn't matter if I put it on upside down it would say the same thing.

Next weekend she is all mine up in Dallas.....Silly boys doing 16-way. While they are jumping at 8am....we will be getting breakfast and starbucks, and maybe a little shopping. Then we might finally manifest ourself at about 11ish when it has warmed up. Plus all we will be doing is freeflying so they can't come and play with us.

I'm sticking with this, that it is way more than 600 ft, I've put over 100 jumps on them and when you are 90% of the time taking OVER "1000 ft" to open it doesn't matter how you tweak the numbers there is no way for it to take 600 ft. The last one was always 1200 ft which I put at 1000 cause I incorporated pilotchute hesitations, d-bag hesitations every hesitation you can think of....I actually got a new and bigger pilot chute cause I thought my old one wasn't lifting the bag....guess what no difference in openings. The new one is at 1000 ft, so I'm sticking with 800 ft. Hopefully it's still on Derek's jump-track where my protrack logged me at 100 mph under a snivling canopy for 1000 ft. Why do you think I dump in a full out track, no slowing down for me....on solo's I bascially just get on my belly and dump. Jump one and as you pass all your friend who dumped lower than you under your snivler.....then tell me it only takes 600 ft. BTW.....you guys are right about one thing though....altimeters are off, do not do hook turns by using your altimeter, there is video of a guy looking at his altimeter right before he hooks himself into the gound. Use you eyes, they are the best alti around... know what 3000 AGL looks like, know what 1000 AGL looks like know what 100 AGL looks like, know your canopies recovery arch. It just might save your life.

Only if you can ditch Mikey

Well maybe.....It would really depend on the wine they got him, he is a wine snob from Napa Valley. Buy him boones get shot, buy him something good (Can you tell I don't buy him wine) and you may survive the ass kicking..oops I mean kissing.
-
how could I forget....he flew up to me under canopy and kicked my endcell just to scare me. Up until then I never thought a 60 could float with a 135. Damn Pookie Bear showing off.
-
Well you asked now didn't you. And Levin, you know Derek.....he would never stand there and just let some one kiss him in the butt, he would probably shoot them if they tried.
-
they can kiss his ass all they want, I get to kiss the good parts.
