Not only do I bring it in so I can smile everytime I look at it, anytime I buy something new I have it delivered to the office where they have a very good signing in procedure unlike my apt. complex who just shoves it into a closest where anyone could take it. So I'm pretty sure everyone has seen everything from my container packed to my new reserve when it came in ready to be packed in my new container.
-
Can you verify that a reserve-pack is good?
skycat replied to justinbuss's topic in Gear and Rigging
Well having had to switch riggers several times due to the one I used to use moving and after a VERY uncomfortable pack job by another rigger. Most important is finding a rigger who knows your rig. A rigger who jumps a racer know alot more about the racer and how to pack it than say a rigger who jumps a mirage. Also ask other jumpers who jump the same kind of rig you do, and who they use. Any rigger should be able to repack your rig, but if you are like me and have a tight harness and need a pack job that is almost perfect, you have to find a rigger who really knows the rig, and other jumpers are an excellent source for that information. hey I really like cranberry juice and sprite, except I add vodka as the 3rd part to it
-
It's ok to luv your rig......just don't LOVE your rig......

She is already out at the DZ jumping it, she took today off from work so she could get it packed and jump it. You will have to wait till next week to see it.

Other than the opening ceramonies (I was at someone elses house and had no choice but to watch), I haven't watched a minute of it. Come to think of it I don't think my TV has been turned on in like a week.
-
probably safest if you didn't.

Well I've had A LOT of salt licked off my girls by other women......does that count?

That was just an example of something that worked if you get a group of more than 4, they have other sizes of RVs besides the big boy RV ....I'm not planning the trip to WFFC, I've got my hands full planning the Texas Chicks RoadTrip. Actually I probably won't go to WFFC due to going to couch and Nationals this year.

Maybe you should be asking how many even know what it is? When giving advice of this nature, those of us in the industry must remember that not everyone is an engineer. Think of it as writing a techinical doc for your Sr. VP, ok yes my last one was very technical, but the one before that didn't know a T-1 from a hole in the ground. Most people just get online and are users, not all of them have been hacking systems since 92. If I would walk up to the majority of my skydiving friends and say, well you have a cable modem (or DSL) how come you haven't set up some kind of personal firewall. The answer will be..."Fire what???" Then after I spend an hour explaining it, the next thing will be..."Will you set me up one of those fire thingies?" Oh and depending on the person they may also ask if it comes with a matching squishy ball. So bascially when you give advice to the masses remember you need to tone it down to advice that your average enduser would understand and be able to use.

I worked for a service provider and it doesn't matter which one it is, but they all can be hacked. You just have to trust that they have thier security up to date and firewalls in place and then still cross your fingers and hope someone doesn't get in. The thing with aol is that no service providers block email from those accounts. Hotmail, yahoo, and several other are sometimes blocked just because they are large producers of spam. At my last company I worked in systems (solaris) administration, and worked hand in hand with our security department to keep our servers locked down from those who shouldn't be there. *knock on wood* None of my systems were ever hacked into, but the NT guys weren't as lucky. The abuse department received upwards of 100 complaints a day about spam, sometimes the account had been hijacked, sometimes the address had been faked. There is no way to 100% prevent hijackings, but there are some things you can do to protect yourself. 1) Make your password something that isn't a word adding numbers, capitals, symbols(depends on the service provider). 2) Don't make it a phrase that is easy to figure out like ou812, My!password, Dusk2dawn. 3) have something that is almost random, if you need to have your cat (or small child) play on your keyboard. Unfortunately your ISP is probably sending your password out to thier authentication server in plain text, so my best advice for that is every month change your password. Kelli

Well here was the deal for couchfreaks last year. We rented and RV between the 10 of us (year before I it was 9) it was $250 a person which included gas for I think 7 days, give or take a day. It was definately the way to go, not everyone wanted to stay in the RV, only night that happened was the first night/morning when we arrived cause it was raining. Other than that 5 of us slept in tents the rest of the time. It was all done very sexist....the boys had to drive and the girls cooked. It worked out great, packing tent set up in front of the RV, and tents all around, with a Texas flag flying high in the middle. Oh and trust me we were like true texans and made a homestead.

That is weak cause any of the numbers (1-10) * 9, when you add the 2 numbers together = 9. Learned that in grade school. It was a way I learned to cheat on the mulitiplication tables.

After seeing all the talk about racers I went to the web page to see the video. Well while I was there I saw their findings on risers and the trapped cutaway cables. Article It's interesting how their findings differ with several other manufacturers. What do some of the riggers out there think of this? Kelli

Hey it's a new goal for clay....

Yeah I know the only person not from our group on the lingerie jump was Jamie (sp) from up there. She and Tigger were a blast. My friend Susan even did a naked jump with the group.
