Come grab me next time you are at the DZ...I have some little chick tricks that work great. Fly it like you stole it!

As options to the sabre2 and spectre are the safire2 and omni. I've never jumped these but percisions versions are the synergy and fusion (I think) Like Dave said there is also the Hornet Fly it like you stole it!
-
They aren't even in the same ballpark. I've jumped a crossfire1(from spain) 104 and a crossfire2 108 The crossfire2 has faster turns, more sesitive to harnes imput, more flare, longer recovery arch. They both have the same low front riser pressure, same great openings (the 2 may be a little faster, but still soft) The crossfire2 is actually designed different, it is more elliptical, and the nose openings have been moved closer to the bottom skin. Nope, that's the norm. Freaked me out the 1st time I saw someone do it. I still say Texas has some of the most polite drivers. I swear around here it's like the indy 500 to merge onto the interstate. On the other hand we are driving, but it will be a pretty drive....Mountains, Valleys, and deserts...Oh my Fly it like you stole it!

Dave we were calling for it back in '96 Fly it like you stole it!

Hmmm...very tempting....although no need to teach me how to land it, I'll just have hook mod it. PM me Fly it like you stole it!

I moved to Denver from Houston last May so here is what I have discovered. Right now it's in the 50s-60s, so your canopy will fly faster, and will also stall at a higher speed, I'd say it will feel like your canopy is about 2 sizes smaller. In the summertime, drop down one more size due to the density altitude being about 9,000+ ft. If you are a swooper your recovery arc will be a lot longer, and the advice you will get from the locals is wait a few jumps before you start hooking to get a feel for the change. For me it took about 4 jumps to get the flare dialed back in, the margin for error became smaller and I could no long flare on the sloppy side. My advice is be very conservative for several jumps and you should be ok. Also, ask for O2, don't try to be tough and go without it like the locals (we are use to this altitude) you will be exiting from ~17.5 MSL, hypoxia and alititude sickness are very bad things. btw....Hooknswoop and I both jump down at Skydive the Rockies, if you are planning on jumping there or one of the other DZs just PM one of us and we will hook you up with one of the locals. It's getting easier though. Derek is on my insurance as my domestic partner, I know that was built in for same sex "marriges", but my employer allows it for traditional non-married couples. Fly it like you stole it!

I 100% agree. I was married once, but due to the fact that I can't have kids and he wanted them, we ended up going in different directions. Which was for the best, we are still friends, and email back and forth every once in awhile, but he is much happier now with his new wife, and if I'm correct they have #1 on the way. On the other hand Derek and I have been together a year and a half now, and I will admit I was surprised when I realized how important a part of my life he is, everything is just better when he is around. Neither of us want to get married or have children (well actually I'll stick with dogs, it's legal to stick them in a cage when they starts to bug me ), we are perfectly happy the way things are right now. Although my family (who I no longer talk to) thinks I'm being selfish for not getting married and having kids. Fly it like you stole it!

From Mothernature.com on Calcium-- -- Most dietary calcium comes from dairy products. The myth that calcium from dairy products is not absorbed is not supported by scientific research. Other good sources include sardines, canned salmon, green leafy vegetables, and tofu. -- Calcium competes for absorption with a number of other minerals. Therefore, people taking calcium for more than a few weeks should also take a multimineral supplement. Vitamin D’s most important role is maintaining blood levels of calcium. Therefore, many doctors recommend that those supplementing with calcium also supplement with 400 IU of vitamin D per day. Animal studies have shown that essential fatty acids (EFAs) increase calcium absorption from the gut, in part by enhancing the effects of vitamin D and reducing loss of calcium in the urine. Lysine supplementation increases the absorption of calcium and may reduce its excretion. As a result, some researchers believe that lysine may eventually be shown to have a role in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis. Fly it like you stole it!

How tight do you like your lag straps!!!
skycat replied to koopa's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Exactly. Mine are snug, but still loose enough that I can shrug my shoulders to my ears. Due to being very flexible though I do use a piece of bungy to keep my legstraps together in the back, otherwise I have legstraps moving when I'm in a sit or arching hard. Clint, when you are at the DZ tomorrow ask Derek (hooknswoop) to show you how tight his legstraps are. You will see that his are snug, but still allow for a full flat track. Those are icarus tandem canopies which don't have break line settings, it seems to be pretty common on them, but usually the TI is able to clear them. I know Derek said he used to get them all the time, but the only thing he has every chopped on a tandem was line twists. Fly it like you stole it!
