  1. argh my university shut down direct connect somehow... anybody know any sneaky ways to get around this? like a port number that usually doesn't get shut down? MB 3528, RB 1182
  2. I've heard that the PD factory will reline canopies from other manufacturers... is this true? do they charge more? MB 3528, RB 1182
  3. what are they worried they will be worse then this year? is that possible? MB 3528, RB 1182
  4. oooo ooo I know. tell em that some skydivers have bigger dicks than others, causing a more pointed falling shape, and so they fall faster. then you tell em that you are the fastest faller at your dz. MB 3528, RB 1182
  5. and what happened to the apparent rule that we couldn't edge out on the wing because it would damage it and it was against the rules? MB 3528, RB 1182
  6. uhhhh you may wanna take a valium... or beer... or both. MB 3528, RB 1182
  7. Man can those guys get any tighter in line. I'd be like dude can you get that out of my ass! yeah no kidding. it looks like a 10-way ass-grab they got going. MB 3528, RB 1182
  8. ok I have heard before that having a misrouted chest strap doesn't automatically equal death. But on here, a lot of people think that it does. Has anybody done any research on the subject? How many people have actually fallen out of their harness due to a misrouted strap? Were they wearing student gear or custom stuff? MB 3528, RB 1182
  9. Sounds like the reporter didn't have a clue about either aviation or skydiving and misunderstood terms mentioned to him/her eg. S/L for an automatic deployment 'safety mechanism'. I believe the reporter is referring to the toggles that he pulled down to flare on landing. and the "automatic deployment safety mechanism" was the cypress. All dz pilots are very experienced (no DZO would hire otherwise). Most have a CPL (commericial pilots licence) - I'm not sure if this is required by the FAA under flying for reward. In any case he would have been sufficiently experienced to recover from a spin from 3,500'. I believe that the CPL is required, along with several hundred hours of flight time (not sure of exact amount). However, I know at many small DZs the pilots are doing the job in order to get flight time, in order to eventually get a better job. MB 3528, RB 1182
  10. or how many of them say they will eventually skydive, or want to. kinda pointless to put it down as a hobby if you havn't done it. MB 3528, RB 1182
  11. 41 on second try. i'll get that little bastard! MB 3528, RB 1182
  12. ahhh man thats low. now all the chicks are flooding over to you on here. what about the rest of us guys??!?! do we just get your table scraps!??! MB 3528, RB 1182
  13. bwahahahaha. I love the last sentance on that, to forstall any of us guys saying "so how big do you like em on the ladies?" MB 3528, RB 1182
  14. stalling the canopy is both fun and scary. Just make sure you let up the toggles slowly after it collapses. if you jerk them back up, the canopy pops, and swings you around pretty violently. thats not a good thing and like someone else said, its important that before doing a hard spiral, do a small turn first, then pull the toggle all the way down. don't just go from full flight to one toggle buried in 1 motion. I've gotten line twists by not doing that even on a sabre loaded under 1:1 MB 3528, RB 1182
  15. hahahaha. that is so true. how many hot chicks do you see doing solos? MB 3528, RB 1182
  16. and we know what university she goes to... add a side of stalking in with that spamming. MB 3528, RB 1182
  17. bwahahahha. thats how you tell you are gonna be a freeflier. you stuff the container with clothes so it looks better in the pictures anyways nice rig MB 3528, RB 1182
  18. 36,000 sq ft? wouldn't just the football field itself be at least 57,000 sq ft? because a football field is 100 yds * 53 yds = 57,000 sq ft. This doesn't include the coaches/team area, plus the track around the field. but from the SIM I believe you are correct, it would definitely fall within 150 yards long by 80 yards wide. MB 3528, RB 1182
  19. when someone either gets directly above the formation or directly below it. the person either pulls the formation into their burble, or they fall into the formations burble. either way, you usually get the domino effect and everyone flops together and the formation goes to sh*t. I've actually been in a 4way that funneled 3 times on one jump. and I someone avoided being in each funnel MB 3528, RB 1182
  20. yeah you got it. bwwahahah that has to be one of the funniest lines from the simpsons... cheeeewy?!? MB 3528, RB 1182
  21. Why FM, of course! You don't have FM in Kansas oh I beg to differ. Im a student in engineering, so half the stuff we learn is FM MB 3528, RB 1182
  22. I also had access to cheap gear rental, so I bought mine used at around 60 jumps. and remember, its fairly cheap to demo canopies. MB 3528, RB 1182
  23. I wouldn't get so stressed out about it... thousands of static line trainees do their first few jumps at 3500 or lower. I totally agree with the guy who said to watch the plane as you do it... its really cool the first time you see the plane just float away. MB 3528, RB 1182
  24. I love pizza, I love bagels, I love hot dogs and soda and beer I love ice cream I could even eat a baby deer! tralalallalaa whos the baby deer on the lawn? (quiz of the day: what tv show is that from?) MB 3528, RB 1182
