Wel you are in a rough situation. 160 jumps over three years is not what I would call current. (Yes, others will, but I don't.) Fact is you are never really getting comfertable. But I understand that life can get in the way. why can't you jump Sat? And why do you "have to" work Sunday? Here is the bitch of the situation. You really don't jump much so you need to watch videos and think about it. But watching videos and thinking about it is driving you crazy. Then you need to jump more. Move to a place with better weather. Find another job that does not involve weekend work, or move to a DZ that flies during the week. Thats a question only you can answer. But if you want it...you have to make choices that make it happen. Either: 1. Shut up about your situation and deal with it. 2. Decide to do something (Such as move to FL.) and do it. 3. walk away. Nothing wrong with it. The choice is yours to make. No one else can make it for you. If you choose #2 ask HOW to make those life changes. Several on here have done it. Good point...I don't agree. But its an issue of semantics. I consider the more current jumper that is at the DZ making 1,000 jumps a year to be more of a jumper than the guy that makes 50. The guy doing 1,000 a year is at the DZ more I would guess and living the sport more. Thats not to say you have to do X number of jumps a year to be a skydiver...But that topic has been on fire here before, so we can drag that back up if someone else feels like it. I fiqure if you jump (Solo), you are a skydiver. If you live on the DZ work in Manifest,make 1,000 jumps a year, have blue/purple/green hair and eat ramen so you can afford it, I would say you are more a skydiver than the guy that works in corporate America and only shows up for events or a few jumps a mth. But thats me and my little world...You don't have to agree cause I don't write the rules in the real world...only in my little one. In my little world people listen to experience and know that being careful today is the best way to get better. Yes, and there is no point getting into a big discussion about it...Everyone is going to fly differently. You at 6'2" and 190 can't fly the same way I do at 5'6" and 155. Besides a 15+ avg is impressive no matter how ya did it. The "Mantis" is not a hard and fast position anyway. There is no "perfect" position and to go fast you have to modify everything. I don't turn like you, and you don't turn like me. We may have some of the same basics...But I bet we don't do the same things, but we do get the same results. My head still hurts.... Well I'd rather own a home than pay rent...Of course that means giving up the DZ life......Ok, I can do that. What about resale value? The simple fact is I don't have kids...Don't plan on having kids either. So it's really just me, and I am doing OK living in a trailer on a DZ...So, other than the investment and just owning a house side of it, I don't need much space. I would like a garage or a shop for my radio controled planes. I might move next year, and that has kept me from doing anything. But if I don't move I will be in place for at least the next three years. I have been told that I need to stay in a place for 5 years to break even if I have to sell. So my plan right now is to continue to save around 600 a month for a down payment till I know. I am looking for a house around 80,000-100,000 Like I said I don't need a castle and any move from a Trailer on a DZ is a move up. I was told...And I could be wrong, that with the VA I can skip out of the PMI. Again, I could be wrong. I don't have anything to move...I live in a trailer on a DZ. Well I have more homework to do. You seemed to avoid the saving half a million lives part. We were in a war and we were offer two choices...Invade Japan and fight and have many on both sides die on every inch of ground. They had shown that they would not give up. They could not surrender since they could not get 100% of Congress to approve it. And they never would. The war minister was not going to surrender, and in fact after the surrender commmited ritual suicide in disgrace. Or we could bomb them with Fatman and Littleboy. We had already been bombing them with Napalm, and carpet bombing them for months. The President made a hard choice but one that used an unconventional weapon to save many lives on both sides..The Japan had its own nuclear program...Do you think they would haved use it? I do. Any war is a fuck up. I didn't want a Jewish state 50+ years ago. I really don't care now. I think the US should stop medaling in everyones buisness. I an several others that have served this county think that Iraqi's deserve that right as well. Not all of them could leave if they wanted to. Great. Now we are trying to help Iraq. None of this really matters since we are already engaged in a religious war. Even if the US was not doing it for Jesus, many Muslims are doing it for Allah. If I go and walk up to a black guy and hit him just cause he is black...Even if he did nothing it's still a hate crime.
