  1. OK This if true I could back. If this is the reason that stupid as hell... What is learning to swim that hard? If you want it bad enough you can learn. Its a SKILL that can be learned "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  2. They also become elligable for welfare. If they are illegal, they will not collect welfare. Im all about helping people do things LEGALLY...My opinion someone who is in the country illegally does not have the same rights as a citizen. To allow illegal immigrants the ability to have BETTER benefits than a citizen, thats just stupid. Letting a person who is in the countrt illegally from Mexico have a lower tuition than an American citizen from another state is nuts. And my whole point is that you plan would not work...People whould say you are expecting to much from them...that a 3.0 is to hard and an unrealistic expectation for an illegal immigrant. I understand the need for the low cost labor. However if we grant citizenship to everyone that wants it our tax revenue will go up, but so will our welfare costs go up. Simple statement...You are in the country illegally you don't have, nor should you have, the same or better rights than a citizen. 3. The right thing is not always easy....the easy way is seldom right. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  4. Nope one served, the other didn't...In fact GWB asked about getting rotated to Nam...But he didn't have enough flight time. The difference was that GWB admitted to it. Clinton admitted to smoking dope, "But I did not inhale". What a BS line. So he is either: A. A liar...(We already know this) and he did inhale. B. To damn stupid to smoke a joint. You talking about Bushes DUI? A DUI several years ago vs lying in a court of law while under oath WHILE BEING THE PRESIDENT? There is no comparison between the two. A DUI was not a gigantic deal back then, and infact I know people who have had them and I don't think less of them if they clean up. Which Bush has done. Clinton however, cheated on his wife (Low morals) and lied about it in court (The most powerful man in the world lying about something so small as a hummer...What else did he lie about that was big?) One was several years ago and mistake that many people make...The other was while President, and he knew he was doing it...PLUS Clinton was a lawyer, so he KNEW how bad it was. No way those two compare. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  5. Its relevent, I bring it up. But I'm ashamed he ever got elected. I'm embarrased that we had a guy admit to lying under oath and we did nothing about it. It does show how totally immoral the US is as a a whole that we elected a guy that dodged the draft, admitted to using drugs with a lame lie about "I didn't inhale", cheated on his wife, lied in a court of law, and still you have people defend him. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  6. You seem to be missing my main point..And that is that people will say that a 3.0 is to high, and unfair. Personally if they are her illegally I say ship them back, and let them try to enter legally. GPA be damned. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  7. I thought you were talking about letting them get an instate tuition if they have a 3.0 or better in high school...In that case it IS a double standard since citizens don't have to have a 3.0 in that state. And you realize that people would oppose it saying it was unfair to expect an immigrant to do that well? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  8. We had some intel saying they did not exist...But we also had intel telling us they did exist. The weapons inspectors said they could not find any, but they also said that the Iraqis were not up front about anything. This whole thing would not have been an issue if Saddam had dsclosed what he did with the WMD's we knew he had...But he didn't. Saddam could have let us talk to his top scientists...But he didn't let us. Part of the resolution was he had to dispose of all his current stockpiles, and PROVE he had, which he did not. AND he had to not plan on making anymore...He had a weapon system that he kept that could be used for WMD deployments at a range greater than he was allowed to have..All he had to do was change the fuel and it was beyond the max range allwed by the Resolution. Also he had several plants that could serve double duty as a chemical weapons plant or a fertilizer plant at almost the flip of a switch. So he had the ability to make WMD's and the ability to deploy them. He had WMD's but lost them? He would not let us talk to his scientists. He had invaded two countries. And ignore no fly zones several times. He had used WMD's against his own people. He gives money to the families of suicide bombers...thus supporting terroism. His actions destabilized an already unstable region You want another "limited war"...They don't work. If you are going to go, go hard and fast. Plus we warned him to comply and he said no. Maybe...You don't know and niether do I. However he is ONE man that lives in caves and does not use a cellphone of internet. He is surrounded by a group of people that would kill or die for him...Its not easy to find a guy like that. Yep no comparison. The Army is looking for a guy that could be anywhere in the world. That has a loyal following of fanatics that would kill or die for him and their God. The crooks on the FBI most wanted list don't usually have that kind of following. And most times they are in only the US, and people will turn them in for money. The Army is going up against a guy that has MILLIONS of dollars...That buys a hell of a lot protection. The crooks on the top 10 list don't have that kind of resources. The Army is going after a guy that lives without a cell phone, internet and lives in caves in a barren part of the world. No where in the US is a barren and run by out laws as any where in Afganistan. The US requires pin numbers, has video cameras everywhere, requires deposits, registration on cars..ect... Afganistan has none of these. So if OBL was in the US the FBI might be able to find him, but they have no chance in AFG. Yep no comparison. The US it is much easier to find someone. 9. Problem is you will have people say that a 3.0 is unrealistic and why do we have a double standard for immigrants and citizens? (I think that the only right an ILLEGAL immigrant has is a free trip back home, but thats another story.) Before I get roasted...I'm all about people coming here LEGALLY...And I think they should be able to speak English before they get citizenship. But to give rights to illegal immigrants that are normally reserved for citizens is nuts. So in this case a person who came here illegally has more rights than a citizen of another state? Thats really stupid. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  10. OK so I'll ask...Do you think it would have been any different if anyone else had been in office? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  11. Nope, I care omre about what they did after, and what they are doing now, then if there served...They both did. You are right, it is funny that the Dems have issues with Bush being in the NG, but supported Clinton dodgeing the draft. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  12. Why did Clinton lie about getting a hummer in the Oval Office? Same reason Bush didn't say anything till it was out. Why shoot yourself in the foot? Even if he knew it was happening.... bet I did plenty of bad things while I was in the service that my CO didn't know about, much less I don't think the CiC was getting briefed on my actions. He has much bigger fish to fry than this tiny BS. But once its out, it needs to be addressed. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  13. They were there at one time. He had used them, hell we sold them to him. He ignored the UN. Well except we could not find him...Does the FBI only look for #1 on the top 10 list? Yes, we would...how long were we in Germany and Japan after WW2? Hint its longer than we have been in Iraq. We have no other option than to train by the Geneva Convention....If we didn't then we would be as bad as the people we are fight against. And could you imagine the shit storm that the rest of the wrold would get into...Kinda like this BS issue with the prisoners...But like 100 fold. 14. No where in there do I see an attack from Bush or any RNC person... "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  15. The coach ratting didn't need to exist back then. Students came out even on bad weather days and LISTENED to the experienced guys. In turn the experienced guys tried to help. With AFF becoming the rage, and the DZ's becomming more comerical...Students were given 7 jumps then ignored... Before AFF become the rage...We didn't need the coach rating. Before people came ou and wanted it all now and stopped being willing to work to get it...We didn't need the coach rating. 17. Yeah....It hink its funny that people think I'm old and bald...Its the main reason I don't post pics of myself....That and I don't want the hitmen to know what I look like. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

  19. They have not answered the in air fire at DeLand yet.....They have mentioned it in Emails, but no SB. I think they are hiding that one. Also you don't mind paying to be a test jumper? Paying to risk your life? Thats what Vigil is doing. They sold a device that has issues...They know it has issues and the scope of those issues gets bigger everyday. They are not talking about the in air misfires, but they are not saying to stop jumping them. Is someone going to have to die before they see that there is a problem and they ground the first batch? I think thats whats going to have to happen. No, they had problems, but they were very quick to fix them. My whole issue is it makes no sense for an AAD company to tell you that a device that they admit will fire *Even when off* and that has fired several times to include 4 fires in the air. Is safe to jump. Also they are not forthcomming with any info on the DeLand fire. Which I didn't agree with and am not happy with. I want a better AAD to come to market. If it were as reliable as the CYPRES I would buy it just cause I think the way CYPRES handled the 12 year life span was BS...When I bought mine it said it would be jumping longer than me. But the AAD is going to have to be reliable..And the Vigil is not. Yep, I don't plan on getting a CYPRES 2 anytime soon either. Do you think its right to sell a product that could kill someone...And when the "Beta" units (Which BTW were paid for...I never have paid for a beta unit in my life) show problems the company says the are broken, but still safe to jump? I think that the company knows they have a problem...But they are trying to avoid saying those dreaded words "The Vigils are grounded" so they can avoid a marketing nightmare. I just hope no one dies before the AAD's get replaced, and the fix works. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  20. Thats not enough? Besides the current theory is that it is static between the bag and the container during deployment that might have caused it. But who knows...They are not talking, and that is my biggest issue. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  21. It still does not make it bad advice...I will grant you it could be bad delivery, but the ADVICE can still be sound. Then why do we have guys arguing it all the time? If it was so straight forward it would not be one of the most contended topics on here. The same way a good number of jumpers see me...You had good intentions...But you were trying to hold him back in his mind, and he just could not understand your point of view no matter how much you tried to explain it to him....It is then that communication breaks down. I'm sure you tried like hell to explain the situation to him, but he would not listen. It is those times that you just have to say "I have much more experience than you and I think you are wrong". Just like I tell them not to downsize to quickly, and never depend on the saftey equipment. But they don't want to listen....They think they can handle the fast pace. The cost of them being wrong is at times death. Thats a high price to pay. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  22. My bad...I am NAUI. You don't think that there is some level of compentancy to be able to pass all the Advanced, rescue and the 5 specialty courses? I'll admit I didn't learn much in the Advanced class. But I did learn in the Master class. Really nothing. But now the "D" does not give you much anymore anyway. I really don't care, but I think showing proficincy in several areas is better than just doing 500 jumps and some BS sign offs. How do you feel about not having to do a night dive? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  23. I can come up with explanations why guys with 200 jumps should not be under a Velocity 96 as well... The thing is they are "special" and will not listen. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  24. No, but given that the sub-100 jumper does not know as much. How is he to know what advice is good and what is bad? Many 100 jump jumpers are just shopping for the answer they want. When they don't get the answer they want they almost always come back with one of two answers: 1. You don't know me or my skills. 2. I have others telling me its OK. (Again they are just shopping) To refute #1. People don't need to know everyone to make observations on how they MOST likely will react. If I take a whuffo up in a plane and give him a rig and no instruction I can 99% of the time predict what he is going to do. Same thing goes for ALL aspects of this sport, or almost anything else. While not being 100% correct, it does work well. #2. The guys that are shopping might very well be listening to the guy with 500 jumps that is telling him the answer they want. Really? Pull before impact. I don't need to back that up. Don't turn low, Crash with your wings level, Don't run a PPO of higher than 1.6 while active, Breathe out while you accend. While I can back up each statment...If I don't that does not make them less true. I would say ego is thinking you know more than the guy with many times more experience than you....Thinking that you are special and don't fit into the standard progression. Ego is not listening to the advice unless its what you are looking for. Not for an EXPLANATION or ELABORATION...But when some guy with 100 jumps tells me he is "special" I mention that I have seen a hundred "special" jumpers...Some of them died. They don't like that and always say I don't know what I am talking about since I don't know them..Again they are "special". At that point, yep I bring up my time in sport and experiences. You are a tech diver right? Well if I was planning a deep wreck dive that was clearly above my expereince level, and you told me it was above my level...I'd listen. I would not sit there and argue with you about it... How the hell do I think I know more than you if you are so much more expereienced? THATS ego.... My motivation.....Some people will listen if you talk nice...Ask Vanilla about me..She asks questions, and I give her answers...She asks me to eloborate, and I do... Then you have the guys that ask a question wanting a certain answer...When I don't give it to them they tell me I don't know them, and I don't know what I am talking about ...Oh shit here we go again. Thats when I tell them I have much more expereince than them...And of course they then say that jump numbers don't mean anything... You will also notice that its the
  25. Not if you worked it according to my idea....A big way a Tandem rating and an AD# would qualify you. As would a PRO, an 8 point 4way, and a 4 stack. Or an AFF ticket, qualifying for the Pro swoop tour, and camera jumps. Kinda like how Padi does its "Advanced" card.
