  1. OK how about NOT from an AD for a product? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  2. That is rather an narrow view. Ah, but this is worth fighting? I think you will see your numbers defending it lessen as more "fighter pilot wannabe's" hammer in. Really what evidence? You have evidence from the 60's and 70's? Forgot about this already? Seems to be a problem even WITH a CYPRES. The FAA, DOT, USPA, NAUI, Local and Federal Laws all say otherwise. Otherwise a guy would be allowed to just show up at a DZ drunk and make a first jump with no training...You think thats OK? Reevaluate to solution. What would you do if they actually worked?...Just like the Low pull BSR did for a while. No, but you can protect a guy that does not know any better from breaking himself or killing himself due to his ignorance and ego over ridding his skill. I am a BIG fan of anyone can do whatever they want...As long as they have taken every precaution...You wanna jump a 69? I have...But I didn't just get one at 100 jumps and have ago. I stepped down in sizes and styles till it was the next logical step. A Stiletto is not lower performance than it was, the laws of physics have not changed...Only peoples perceptions of the performance of the canopy....It is still as fast and as deadly as it was when it was released. New skydivers don't think of it as HP since we have guys jumping 58 sq ft Xbraced designs....But just because I can jump a 69, or Mullins can jump a 58, or some guy can jump a 46 does NOT mean YOU can automaticly jump a 107. You also fail to realize that every death, every injury already effects the group. Every time a guy hammers in it gets harder to get insurance as a skydiver....Just because some guy hammers himself in another can't get insurance or it costs more than its worth. Every skydiver that dies makes the FAA look at us to see if we are doing our job at self regulation...Every body that hits the ground makes local and state lawmakers try to pass rules. Every person that dies makes airport access harder. You wanna do what you want? Great, have at it. But your own plane, on your own land, jump gear you made yourself, and have a great time. If you can't play well with others don't bitch about it. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  3. I have been told the opposite. Anyone have proof one way or the other? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  4. With the heavy winter coat I doubt a tazer would have been able to do its job. Why the ""? He is clearly a bad guy? They did, but I expect that. I also expect that they would have dropped him if he had tried to use the knife. Still the pinning against the pole was kinda cool. 5. If the kid was throwing punches Throwing rocks and hitting him with a stick. And then asked for and reached for a pistol....I have no problem with him shooting. He should not have shot if they were running away. But if they were attacking me with rocks, throwing punches and saying "where's the pistol?"...I'd shoot as well. 6. Some points struck very well... Could be that you know me from here, or could be the cards....I am betting it is a bit of each. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1249372#1249372 http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1355845#1355845 http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1522109#1522109 Which is whay I have not rushed out and bought one yet. 8. Pot...this is kettle calling. You say that then you insult...You kill me I don't see Sparky or me being a follower...You just don't agree with us so you think we are. You are the follower here. You want to maintain the current trend of nothing being done....Not Sparks and myself. And again you start insulting...Wow...You amaze me. You love to argue with people with TONS more experience than you. Notice how folks in the sport for years with MUCH more experience than you don't agree with you? Feel free to not respond....Your posts are just filled with insults "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  9. Thanks...And creepy at the same time. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  10. I very much doubt any of the folks that died thought they would. I find it funny that those with a bunch of jumps and years in the sport realize the dangers...And then you have those that "claim" to know the dangers. 15. I see, so you say something you can't/will not back up? Easy way out....Go ahead, take it. My point? Well some people ARE more qualified than others to pull lower. Those people might have more training, better equipment and more over all experience...But the BSR does not care. Bills BSR for WL, mine and about a dozen others say that you are free to jump what you want...AS LONG AS YOU PROVE YOU CAN HANDLE IT!!!! The only people I see not wanting this are people who can't walk the walk and are afraid they will be made to look foolish. Or the young ones that demand their "rights" even if they have not earned them. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  16. Please provide one. There was when they came out....A bunch of guys saying that they were stupid, and they knew what they were able to do, knew their limits..yada,yada,yada....Kinda like you are doing with the WL BSR. So now you don't find them funny or strange...Same thing will happen with a WL BSR a few folks that think they would be fine will bitch and moan. Then they will join on, and in 20 years jumping a high WL without training will be about as cool as low pulls are today. You think maybe I am more qualified to pull lower than you? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  17. Nope you did everything great...and Welcome....Oh and Beer! Unfortunately FL....But you have helped anyway. I thought so, but its nice to get confirmation....I don't think anyone thought it was a good idea...But I was unsure, so thanks folks. That I sorta knew. Makes me wonder if a traditional mortgage would be better? But without the 20% down I doubt it. Thoughts? Well its a new build most likely. Don't know if that changes things. I am leaning towards the new framed house. I kinda was anyway, but to be honest I could still be swayed. Thanks folks. 18. Have you asked me a question I never answered? So, how do you feel about the pull altitude BSR's? Are those OK, or do you think those are stupid as well? Are you good enough to pull lower than what most would consider safe? Go ahead answer.... "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  19. You didn't answer what you think about the pull altitudes BSR. You seem to avoid answering any question that weakens your right to stomp around and say, "But its my RIGHT!" "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  20. Yes, but I plan on useing my VA benefits which make it so I don't need a down payment, and don't have to pay PMI. So I don't know if taking the 10 grand allowed by law out of my 401k is a good idea since I am getting a better ruturn than the current interest rates. My big question seems to be 50 year old block or a new frame home? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  21. Yes, but I have no idea home important that really is...so thats why I am asking. A block home would be better for Hurricanes, and termites. But from Skymama it seems no matter what house I get I will have to deal with termites. My trailer survived the last 4 hurricanes just fine. Plus the frame house is new, and will meet all the new building specs. And the block homes seem to be about 50 years old...I have no idea if 50 years is a big deal in a house. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  22. I was thinking along the Termite/Hurricane issues. But energy eff is important, and I plan on getting to that bridge when I get there. Already planning motion detecting light switches for common areas. No, but a 30 year old block home and a new frame house seems to be the same price. Also the hosing market around my area is really nuts. A house stays on the market less than a week. Buy a new one would be nice since they cost about the same, I get to make it my colors/style. Planning on living in it for a few years then renting it out and becoming a slum lord "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
