Push is pretty noisy. So is Jessie Jackson and Sharpton. Thats easy. Happens all the time in sports. You promote yourself, and seperate yourself. In the Military we had a saying "We own the night". It said we were different than other militarys...And it was a promotion. BET, or the Gay network exist. WET would never be allowed since it would be racism.... Tell me, how is allowing a color specific TV station NOT racism? And why is it OK only for Blacks? I think his point is that if a white magazine came out with the SAME format as "Jet" it would be labled racist. How is "Jet" not racist? Do they ever profile notable white figures, politicians, musicians, artists, businessmen ect? If not, and by their own charter...Are they not a racist publication? Except CMT is "County Music Televison", not "White Music TV". You are free to turn it on or not, just like I am free to turn on BET. However CMT was not founded to support whites. It was set to promote County Music...Well, OK it was created to make money just like BET. But if you read a press release where some guys were comming out with WET, and even though the programs didn't interest you, would you consider the station racist? Nope. But having the NFL interview a black for every coaches job *IS*. I would like nothing better for people to be judged solely on merit. AA is nothing like that. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Racism is ALL in peoples heads. I think some people look at EVERY situation as if the choices were made based on race alone. Those people think that if they didn't get a job it was because they were black. Those people instead of accepting responability for their actions prefer to blame "The Man". As for your wife, so what she was told that she would not do well in Medical school? I know plenty of Dr's that were told the same thing and they are white. They went anyway. Maybe she just accepted it and they didn't? When people stop demanding special treatment based on race (BTW thats racism), and stop blaming all of their problems on what color their skin is...then racism will go away. As long as people hold on to it, even embrace it....It will be here for good. Do I think there are still racists? YES. I just think they come in all colors and wonder why the black variety is encouraged, even celebrated. Edit to add the defintion: Racism (n) 1: the prejudice that members of one race are intrinsically superior to members of other races 2: discriminatory or abusive behavior towards members of another race Whats AA again? Discrimination dis·crim·i·na·tion ( P ) Pronunciation Key (d-skrm-nshn) n. The act of discriminating. The ability or power to see or make fine distinctions; discernment. Treatment or consideration based on class or category rather than individual merit "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

So, what if the black person interviewed does not get the job...Whats next? Claim it was just a "token" interview, and demand that the NFL have a ratio of black coaches? Cause it easier to say, "Sure, OK". Do the token interview and produce the illusion of equality...till people say "Why have you interviewed "X" number of blacks for coaching jobs, but not hired any?" Then all hell breaks out again. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Wrong, this thread exists because some *Think* they are being held back and BS rules are being put into place to please them. Do I think there is still racism? Yep. Do I think that it comes from BOTH sides? Again yep. The difference is that it seems to be encouraged when it puts blacks in favor of anyone else. AA is racism. The NFL mandating that a black be interviewed for coach positions is racism. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

AA by its very definition is not EQUAL. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Yes, and I understand it. however, do you think Fire, or one of the AS teams would have posted a 16.3 out of the tailgate? I was *Just* in the tunnel with Niklas and team Fastrax *Select*. They are some good skydivers, and good people. They are gonna do very well, but Fastrax has not yet posted a 20, and all of the other teams have already done it THIS year. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

OK cool!!!! Edit: Besides with the line ups of the two AS teams, and Fire.....Who the hell can really guess who will win? I have ALWAYS wanted to be the guy that made something get moved *TO* BF. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

As normal folks, we can boycott the product or service of that company. As citizens we can bring them up on charges. Thats because many of these organizations are WAY over the top. Also, the ACLU is not a "black" group, so they don't belong in there....But they also are a little over the top. Jesse Jackson...Most people (both black and white) I think see him as an opportunist really only out to make himself bigger. See the answers to the first question. Now for you: What do we do when whites are discriminated against? What is AA BUT discrimintaion in hiring? If two guys are equal in qualifications and the one with the black skin gets it....Is that NOT discrimination? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Well, sure. I would also guess that the majority of people would say the same thing. Unless you are Al Jolson. I don't see too many non blacks saying these words, unless they are biggots. Either way, it does not matter, unless I act differently, or treat you differently it does not matter. One of us has a problem with the other...Its not me. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

You don't see the racist slant of this? What race are you? Don't know, don't care. But comments like the above make me think you are black. No me thinking you might be black does not make me a racist...If I ACTED differently to you due to your race, or percieved race...Then I would be a racist. I never assumed you to be any color. And until your comments such as the above "Massa" and "you are a good white man". I didn't have a clue, nor care. In fact you hit me with those only AFTER I tried to be nice. You instead implied that I thought I was a Mod, and then hit me with those comments. If you notice no where I have ever made any comment to you about anything that could be racist. Can you say the same for yourself? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

And when I go to another country, I pay taxes while I am there...That does not allow mw to particpate in that countries programs either. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Yeah, if you become a citizen then you can collect. If I go to another country do you thin I will get free healthcare and such? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Its this right here that encourages racism. I try to be nice and help, you act like that. You are your own worse problem. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

See, we agree again....Bruce would stop Kirk "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

How many more does it take? Maybe he is sick of the blacks on welfare...Do you know who he was saying that about? My parents were alcoholics.....I hate alcoholics...Does that make me bad? Maybe he grew up around some real scum. He now hates that scum.....I think that makes him a better man "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

I personally find that offensive. You do not have a clue who I am. And If I had said the same you would be really pissed. No, I made the mistake of trying to help you out....I was at one time one of the most banned folks on here....Forgive me for trying to prevent you from getting in trouble...what the hell was I thinking? It also works really well. Ya wanna hear a story? I was stopped in Compton once and told to "Get the fuck outta here white mother fucker"...... Thats racism too....but no one seems to be bothered by that. In High School I was jumped by a black guy...the reason he gave when he was caught? "He was white"...Thats racism, but no one seems to mind it either. Why is it OK for a black man to be racist? There is a preacher here in Tampa...A Black man, his name escapes me....He considers all whites to be the devil and says so ALL the time on public axcess TV....Why is he allowed, but any white guy saying the same thing would be jumped all over? Anyone? Some blacks are the racist people I have ever met....But no one seems to mind it. Why is that? Not all of it. But then it says: "It was actually Bill Clinton that signed legislation barring immigrants from receiving SSI as part of The Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996. This changed the following year with the signing of the Balanced Budget Act of 1997. " didn't Clinton sign the balanced budget act? If it got rid of that....then in essence wound this not be true? I really don't know. Well, I learned something. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

So, just because a black guy does it he is a sell out? Could it be he is just sick of them, and is fed up? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

If I were a cop and I was told a violent assult was just commited and I have the choice of going after three people: 1. A 20-30 yo black man wearing "colors" 2. A 78 year old white woman with a walker. 3. A 30 yo white male in a business suit and with a briefcase.... Lets see, who should I stop? The thing is even if the black guy was guilty he would claim that I pulled him over since he was black and I am a racist. If I am trying to prevent another 9/11....Do I stop: 1. A black man in his 80's. 2. A middle eastern man in his 20-30's with a beard. 3. A white guy with a pocket protector and a slide rule. Profiling works, cops agree. That is very close to an attack...I got warned for the same thing. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Not really. You could say that people are not suited to any particular job...And you would be right. But that means nothing. If you want the carrot at the end of the ride, you keep moving even if you don't enjoy it. Well, yeah, but the problem is you never know WHO can handle it till it happens....And then some of those that can't handle it....Do anyway. Hell, I never met a man that LIKED combat. Same could be said of ANY job. Who said put them there? I said it is an option if you want it bad enough, and no matter what you think or say it IS an option. Ok you are making me actually do research on this....You are gonna regret that. http://www.startrek.com/startrek/view/series/TOS/character/1112496.html If you look at his profile you will see TWO dates of death. Also, Now if his "Official" records have him dying twice....He died twice. Debate all ya want....His records have him dying twice...And how do you know that being in the Nexus was not death? I think we should consider "Prime vs Prime". After all Bruce is dead and even Fat Ass Kirk could beat up an already dead guy. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

He died 1st during a test cruze if the Enterprise "B" an Excelsior class ship. I think it was an energy thingy...Later thought to be the Nexus. He died a second time falling from a cliff. BTW for real wierdos out there....Anyone like Richard Bach (Jonathan Livingston Seagull) Well he wrote a book about his relationship with Leslie Parrish called The Bridge Accross Forever and she was also in One. Anyhoo, She played a character in a Star Trek Episode in season 2 called Who Mourns for Adonais? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
