His own website when he was running: "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Fair.. Care to answer this? Or just attack a mistyped word? So if you saw someone else getting rapped you would do nothing? Or would you help? Yes, I do believe in personal responsibility. I also believe in helping those that ask for my help and helping those that need my help. So, if the person being rapped is not able to defend themselves...You would do nothing?" Fair care to answer this: "No....but I think you know the difference between trying to stop a crime and being hired to commit one. " "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Suppressors are cool...But, not a really good investment. The transfer tax is often half to equal the cost of the item. NFA items are registered. But since 1934 only two have been used in the commission of a crime. I do not see the Huges Amendment going away, but I do not see much more regulations on NFA items. Your biggest bang for your buck will be popular "assault" style weapons. AKs and ARs. High cap mags went from 10 bucks to 100 bucks in 94. I would get some AK's and ARs if you are trying to make a buck. An NFA Mac 10 is always a good investment. New they were less than 200, right now they sell for around 3k. I had some friends over from Europe. We were talking about life in both places. They said the biggest thing they expected to find but did not was they were expecting to hear gunshots all the time. They had been here about a week and had not heard a single gunshot. They were amazed. It just goes to show that perceptions are not always correct. People in many States do carry. Some legally, some illegally. In most cases it is not the people who carry legally that you need to worry about. I 100% agree that the city should not have had it removed. But how can you cry about the 1st in this case, yet support stepping all over the second? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Why is it OK for you to do it, but not someone who cares about you?????? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

If your wife yelled rape...Would you just sit back and watch? He used his weapon to stop a crime. His wife lied about it being a crime. But he walked up to see his wife getting nailed by another guy and she cried rape. How was he supposed to know it was not a rape? I'd say yes. The population likes Obama better. He is a better speaker and he has told people what they want to hear. I don't think being popular means your plans are the best however. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

What would it take to get you to change your vote?
Ron replied to MikeForsythe's topic in Speakers Corner
1. Someone that has a workable tax plan that is aimed at cutting expenses and balancing the budget. Neither canidate has such a plan. One wants to increase spending, the other wants to chop everything. 2. A canidate that is strong on supporting the 2nd. One that is against bans, and wants to get rid of the Huges Amendment. 3. End the war in Iraq since we can't afford it and the real objective has been completed. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334 -
You should quote the whole thing. I said, "Honestly, I think you can and are just being argumentative. " So you admit you are just being argumentative. You claiming I want people to be robbed or raped is sarcasm huh? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
-
Sure, you know otherwise? Maybe he is fed up of busting his butt and watching others sail by? Big difference between me saying they MIGHT and me saying I WANT them to be rapped or robbed. I would think you would be able to tell the difference....I could be wrong. Honestly, I think you can and are just being argumentative. No you posted stats that say blacks tend to vote Dem. That does not mean that they will not vote for him based on being black. Remember, blacks normally have lower than normal voter turn out. So what are you going to say when that number is much greater than normal and a higher percentage vote for Obama? Look, I am not trying to say its wrong...People vote like this all the time. Some will vote for McCain since he is a vet...Others will vote for McCain since Obama is black. I just don't pretend that race is not an issue like others. It does go to show how they think. They may not ACTUALLY burn a house down, but it shows they WANT to do it. To me that is still approving of violence. Just like all those that claimed they would leave if Bush won. I don't think they will go anywhere either. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
-
Really? You said EXACTLY:"I am all for deregulation, as long as I am allowed to burn down houses and lynch people when they lose my money." How is that not approving violence? OK great! Fantastic! As long as you will admit that you choose to live here and not there. No, or course not. I just want you to admit you DO approve of violence (per your own EXACT words in this thread) and choose to be in the US over Canada. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
-
You need to re-read what I wrote. I said race is a factor...That includes both sides. I then aske Bill if he agrees it is from both sides. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
-
Are you willing to admit that it is also a factor for black voters? Stein said that he thinks a majority of blacks will vote for Obama, while about 46-47% of whites will vote for Obama. Barkley agreed and King did as well. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
-
I assume you have degrees from Harvard and Yale? I assume you were smart enough to be the most powerful man in the US, maybe the world? Nice, so you think violence is the answer! If you hate the US so much...why did you ever leave Canada? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
-
I had Larry King on last night. He had Barkley and Ben Stein on. Both seemed to agree that race is a factor in this campain. Stein said, and Barkley agreed, that a majority of blacks will vote for Obama based only on race. Stein also said that about 48-49% of whites will vote for Obama. Stein thinks this is why Obama will win. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

They also don't pay many taxes...How many Postal vehicles do you see with license plates? "Jim Kelly of UPS says that the Post Office has an unfair advantage and should be subject to the same rules as private carriers, such as paying taxes, following state and local regulations, and being subject to antitrust laws" The Post Office also has the sole right to deliver 1st and 3rd class mail. "Competition in "extremely urgent letters" is allowed under certain conditions: The private carrier must charge at least $3 or twice the U.S. postage, whichever is greater (other stipulations, such as maximum delivery time, apply as well); or, alternatively, it may be delivered for free" And the Govt has fined private companies for using private carriers: "Carriers, as well as mailers, are supposed to comply with the laws against using a competitor to mail an overnight letter that is not extremely urgent. A violation can occur at a home or a business where letters originate. But, since nonurgent letters can be mailed covertly through private carriers USPS has found it difficult to enforce. However, companies such as Bellsouth and Equifax have been investigated and fined for mailing nonurgent material through private overnight delivery services" So, the USPS may not run on tax dollars, but they also don't PAY many taxes, have a monopoly by law, and have actually fined people for using private companies. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Not nearly the same. The Post office is Govt run and both them and UPS make tons on the parcel service. Then clearly they don't have the same quality of service. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
-
It should be noted that the Postal Service has by law a monopoly that helps them. As for service...Since I work for one of the companies you mentioned I know its service level compared to the others and the Post office is not at the top of any list. Cheap? Yes. High level of service is up for debate. If you had to get your Grandmothers wedding ring to your sister tomorrow....Who would you send it with? And name one Govt program that worked really well? You and I agree 100% on this. I say let them starve. If they turn to crime, throw them in jail. Your take? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
