Anyone seen the C31:23 error code?
TattooedMoFo replied to konradptr's topic in Photography and Video
If you go to the Sony site you can punch the code in an dthe will tell what it is and the course of action you can take. -
I think after jumping for a while (coming up to 5 years for me) you are MORE aware of the risks involved..............Some of us choose canopies based on what will land us safely 100 out of 100 times, rather than the fastest canopy we can get. Some of us sit out when the winds get bad, or when the weather's about to get nasty. Some of us avoid loads where the chances of an injury are high, or avoid DZ's where the aircraft are unsafe. --------------------------------------------------------- Would you not say that these become more judgemental calls based on experiance. The more experianced you become the "supposedly" better your judegemnt would be. High winds more chance of been hurt, smaller canopy thean I can handle, the more chance of been hurt. I would say (eg)deciding to jump a smaller canopy than you can handle and hoping to get away withit is a risk, but if you had made judgemental calls leading up to jumping a smaller canopy thr risk is almost non existant, yes things can and do go wrong but the risk factor has been significantly reduced. That's why I said "When you have been jumping for a while you don't even think about the risk." Becasue all decisions made up to the point of going up in the plane have been "will I make down safely"

I renewed my insuarance with Lloydstsb to include rig cover (single item 3500). Harrison Beaumont will do all your skydiving equipment, helmet, rig etc. If you decide to get travel insuarance when you go abroad get your insuarance direct through AXA ,instead of HB. AXA are their underwriters and now do it as well.

When you have been jumping for a while you don't even think about the risk. All you want to do is get up in the air and jump.

Quick release systems mandatory on Camera Helmets??
TattooedMoFo replied to bigG's topic in Photography and Video
At the Swedish Freefly festival it is mandatory to have a cutaway system which they test when you join them on the first day of you jumping at the festival. -
One of my team was engaged to be married, she nagged him and bitched, the usual story about skydiving. Then he broke it off she gave him the ring back, upon which he pawned it off to get some of his money back and the spent all that cash on 3 weeks at Deland jumpingh his ass off. Somethings just arn't worth the bother.

Ther aren't any hard and fast rules for mals of that nature. The situtation is different everytime( different sizes of the mains to the reserve eg:small main large reserve, vice versa. Altitude when mal started, sequence of evets leading up to that eg: were you aware of reserve deploying.) There are alot of factors to take into consideration and this is why you won't get a hard and fast answear to use if this happens again. Airtec recently did a good talk on having 2 canopies out at the BPA AGM and if this type of post hasn't been covered before get in touch with them they might have something you.

>>If a metal handle is supperior, why doesn't everyone have one for their cutaway?
-
Soft handles has been adopted more by FreeFlyers, but you must be comforable to handle a mal as S/H are a lillte more difficult to grab and use opposed to metal.
