Not gonna work real well for wing suiting , but when i made a foot mount, i just got a flat mount and put in on a piece of metal and then put it under my shoe laces. Easy enough to kick off a shoe if need be.

It would be hard to prove that its safer because NO ONE has ever fallen out of a PROPERLY FIT harness. Period. But I am pro ymod. Would probably leave it slightly looser on normal sized people, but can see the added benefit for taking larger people. I just hope people don't get the idea that its safe to take really fat people because they have a ymod.

i am seeing a growing trend amount TI's. They will properly fit the harness before boarding as they should, but during their hook up sequence, the cinch up the MLW. Some tightening them up 6 inches or more. The reason for this is while in the seated position (bench or in the floor) the harness feels loose. But by doing this, they are essentially locking then into a somewhat fetal position. The complete OPPOSITE of what you want. If the harness is tight while arching on the ground, how are they supposed to do it after tighten it even further in the plane.. Then on opening, there legs go flying up cause there locked fetal which causes the leg straps to move down their thighs instead of in their crouch where they should be. Ever notice that some tandem students walk funny after landing? Its cause they can't stand up straight cause the harness is to tight. (yea i know, let the jokes fly) How come fun jumpers and aff students don't need the harness adjusted inflight?

How do you label your DVDs for customers?
Dokeman replied to WatchYourStep's topic in Photography and Video
i have always avoided the stick on labels. It alters the weight of the disc and make them spin funny sometimes. At least thats my thought, but I could be wrong. -
Well I'm 215lbs with no gear, and we jump icarus's 330's. So its rare that I get a 1.1 loading unless I'm taking someone real small. We run a 206 and only have 1 other TM who is much smaller than me. We are also a tandem only operations so there are no funjumpers. Its hard to put strick wind limits on paper for experienced jumpers because 20mph wind one day can be quite different than a 20mph wind another day. Difference in gusts, directions, turbulence, and other factors. But i do take inconsideration the other instructor and the passenger enjoyment factor as well.. Gusty winds and a cessna make for quite a bumpy ride to altitude plus a bumpy ride under canopy. example: we called a load one day because we had high winds with smaller passengers. no bid deal until she told me that last time she flew in a small place it made her sick. Well I don't want to get puked on. She lived about 15minutes from the DZ and came back the next day. Could we have jumped her then, sure. But I think it was better for everyone that she came back the next day and had way more fun. Me and the other instructor go out the the landing area together and decide if its good or not. So i guess I don't have a hard number for stopping, its if we both feel comfortable. I don't really even care what the number is, i can stand out there and tell you if its too windy or not. What about upper wind limits? Whats your cutoff for 3000ft winds? 30knots? 40 knots? That also plays a role in my decision. Who cares what the winds in the landing are are if the uppers are so strong that you get blown right past it?

I didnt really take into account the wing loading so much. Cause i dont do the math for every jump, and I cant pick and choose who can go when its windy. If everyone cant jump, nobody can jump. Also other determining factors like canopy choice. The sigmas seem to be more stable in turbulence/high winds than icarus's. And when you are backing up/comming straight down you really loose alot of options for alternate landing areas. I generally just dont like it. Its not as fun for me or them. Just come back a better day.

ill do 10-21 MPH with ease, 16-27 no thanks. I dont like jumping in anything over 21 MPH. i dont like going backwards. I assume your talking MPH and not KNOTS?
-
looks backwards.. the finger pocket should be on the other side?
-
I wish they would put something on their site about it. Probably not gonna sell many with no way if finding out info about it
-
not these days.. i would say its at least 50/50 in not more for handycam.
-
but an SD lens on a HD camera still looks NOTICEABLE better than a SD lens on a SD camera

What container is TSO'd to 400lbs?
-
After all the problems with neptunes.. No Thanks!

The thinnest HMA will make your videos look better with all the cutaways from broken lines. Vectran would probably be best for a working canopy, just for longer life over the HMA

i just broke mine off my cx100

I work at one dz and fun jump other places. I dont mind working at other dz's, while im there if asked, (but i'm mostly there to fun jump). I have mostly seen recruiting for staff not fun jumpers though. PS: hi gary

From my experience and watching others, its seems that a lot of pukers come from having the harness to tight. Ie cinching the MLW down too much while getting hooked up

Im 200lbs and fly icarus 330's. I routinely take people up to 240lbs without and problems. i think they are great. Defiantly the best all around workhorse.

Opteka Platinum Series 37mm 0.2X Low-Profile "Ninja" Fisheye Lens?
Dokeman replied to Marc84's topic in Photography and Video
I would be very curious to see how this compares to the .2 royal lens -
What do you think of the Wichard anti-slip hardware on new Sigmas?
Dokeman replied to parachutist's topic in Tandem Skydiving
They are much better! We just had to send 2 of ours back because the older style were slipping BAD! I had to loop them back over the buckled to keep them from slipping. Haven't had any problems with the new ones yet. Kinda wonder how the harness material is gonna hold up with that little bar always applying pressure though. -
Making the hype-eye-D-connector more compact
Dokeman replied to 0013's topic in Photography and Video
I would LOVE a simpler Hypeye. I want one that functions just like a cameye. -
Any experience with non-factory made linesets???
Dokeman replied to stayhigh's topic in Gear and Rigging
I have used Mel for 3 relines all with great work! -
-1, thanks though

then what is the optimal lens for the cx150 for handycam use if the royal and cookie vignette?
-
Has anyone used a royal .2 30mm lens or the opteka .3 37mm with a step down ring on a cx150? Seeing as the 150 is a little wider than the 100, just wanted to make sure there was no vignette. I tried my 37mm royal .2 with a step down ring, but the the vignette was terrible. This is for use with my handycam.
