I have to second that. You definitely need to work extra hard in rehab. I hope you get a good Doctor as well. One Last thing, Do not jump until you are better than 100%. Here is a reply from someone who lives here. The last I heard Naples was having issues. I personally never got down there as I was injured at the time it was running. Mary & Stewart did lose the rights to bthe DZ. Someone else took it iover for a bit but I believe it fell through. Skydive Tampa Bay is a smaller DZ. I have not ben there but heard it is pretty nice. Lake Wales & Z-Hills will probably take about the same amount of driving time because of the location. I believe Lake Wales might take a little longer. It's location requires many traffic lights and small towns once you get off the interstate. Of course I am going to favor Z-Hills because it is my home DZ. We have many friendly laid back individuals. There are several organizers for all skill levels and types of jumps. When are you moving? I would be glad to show you around the Hill. There is nothing wrong with PSYCHO Packing. I have done it since 95. For those of you who do not know it was originally called the BATPACK. Designed for the Batwing parachute. There was a group of us that jumped in Texas who refined the pack job to get on heading and really soft openings. As stated above part of it is in the lay down process. We decided to try folding half and half instead of one side over the other. This took out the 90 Degree off heading openings. The other thing we did is on the nose roll four & four with the center cell presented, put the slider on the center cell then roll the tail. I will have to say that when I pack for someone they comment that it is the best opening they have ever had. Keep in mind that this pack job is truly designed for an eliptical canopy. Don't Worry there Girlie. Everything will work out I know it will. It is natural to be nervous. You are taking on a whole new adventure. Leaving the security of friends and family to try something new. You are doing what others fear to do and end up staying stagnant, bored and miserable all of their life. Uh yeah there little lady. Try $5,300 for an airlift from Z-Hills to Tampa. Not even a 10-min flight. $300 for an ambulance just because it showed up. Ambulance ride at Quincy was over $1,000. I would have to look at records to get the exact amount. Just think these people are actually supposed to be helping you. Instead they are raping your wallet. Right on. We should all take the time to look at not only our own gear but others as well. Not only while sitting around but especially when it is on and getting ready to jump. Anytime something does not look right or feel right go with your gut. Ask a rigger to check it out and look at it. It usually does not take long and it could be the difference between serious injury or Death! I know because the day I had the accident which took me out of the sport for a bit I knew something was going to go wrong. I had two other people look at my gear and they could not see anything bad. These are my feelings exactly. I know that there are coaches out there who only get money through instructing but the fact of the matter is that a student pays a great deal of money to get into a novice status. We should all take a little time to help a new person out. This way they feel welcomed and come back. Not only that but the person would be a good marketing tool for the drop zone by trying to get others they know to jump even if it is only a Tandem. My few words. Laters.
