It matters what the jury thinks, not you. The defense had a much better case than the prosecution did. Do you think the jurrors would tollerate people trying to fill their pockets with cash, by making accusations, and dragging someones name through mud?

All counts in He's not guilty on all counts!

The jury hasn't said that yet

It's not guilty for all child molestation counts, and not guilty for the alcohol counts. -
NOT guilty! On FOX right now.

The military has been doing it for years. It's the FF2, although not as reliable as the cypress, they have been doing that for a long time.

Usually with the bundles they will use a round for the last 100' or so of descent. This will give it the GPS accuracy, with out having the bundle "Risk a low turn". Hooking in a bundle can have just as drastic effects on equipment, as it would have on a body.

If he didn't come back to pick it up, then did he say "I lost my ass!"? hhhh aaaaaaa hahahahahaaa Sometimes I just crack myself up!

I did that when I was in the military, and they got all pissed off, because they thought it was a streamer, that a jumper wasn't dealing with. I held it for quite awhile. They got pretty ansy!

Just letting go is actually a pretty bad thing. This will cause the canopy to violenly surge forward, and it may not do so in an even matter. This can cause line twists. Self induced line twists are not a cool thing. I had a friend kill himself one year ago today by cutting away from self induced line twists at a low altitude. He probably would still be skyjumping if he only flew smoothly, and didn't get himself in that situation. Another thing that can happen is slack lines. Slack lines are never a good thing, as you are not in controll of the canopy with any of your lines slack. Also slack lines can cause malfunctions. I have stalled a pd 300 for several hundred feet, and trust me it doesn't really want to stall straight. It want's to spinnaround. To fly it on heading in the stall requires a lot of work. A lot more work than not continueing to stall it. The spectre 170 is the same way. The more you fly in the stall the more chances you are taking. If you are going to do this stuff do it up hi. I hope this helped you out.

Ya, that stuff kind of sucks when it spins up after a stall, and having slack lines is not cool.

Check it, Front risers are a controll input like your toggles or your rear risers. They will cause your canopy to perform a diving turn. You will lose much more altitude in a front riser turn than a toggle or rear riser turn of equal degree's. Conversly, you will have a slower turn rate with a front riser turn compared to a turn of equal degrees with a toggle, or rear riser. Giving equal controll inputs to both fron risers will cause you canopy to dive straight ahead. At your point in the game I suggest trying your front riser turns out above 2,000'. There is really no need for you to be using them below this altitude untill much later in your jumping career. Something else you may want to focus on is flying a proper pattern, and noticing how much altitude you lose in each leg. You can adjust your pattern leg lengths as need to get to where you want to be for landing (accuracy). You can do several patterns over you intended landing area prior to entering the actual pattern for landing. If you ever watch the classic accuracy guys they will perform 3-4 patterns before the enter the landing pattern. Accuracy should be a major working issue for you right now. There is plenty of time to go fast and look cool later (people who do bad patterns don't look cool anyway). You may want to practice rear riser flares, incase you break a steering line. You don't have to land with your rears, and I suggest that you continue to land with your toggles, but it's good to know what your canopy can and cannot do. You may also want to practice flying your canopy as smooth as possible. Being jerky with your controll inputs will give you some very bad habbits, and can get you into a world of trouble down low (for example self induced line twists. I had a friend who cut away from self induced line twists very low one year ago today. He's dead.). You should also practice looking around under canopy. Many new jumpers are focused on what is right in front of them, and don't notice many of the things going on around them. The landing pattern is a very busy place, and is not the place to have tunnel vision. I hope this helped out. Please post again soon telling me how this has worked out for you. Grant

I agree with you, but I strongly feel that people need to know what it will take for their canopy to depart controlled flight. The rear riser stall is very smooth in the onset, and there is no reason to continue to keep your canopy in this configuration. The reason for stall practice is to know when the canopy will depart controlled flight, in all conditions. Another good reason for stall practice is to learn stall recovery. You and I know that dumping your controll inputs when you are stalled, is not a smart thing to do, but others out there may not (by the way a smooth and slow release of your controll inputs is the proper method for stall recovery).

Of Course, How are you doing Mr. Owens?

I think a lot of people are really missing the point of the Bible. The bible can be "interperated" in so many ways. Look at it... Why do we have catholics, evangelicals, protestants, lutherans, ect ect ect? It's because some group decided to "interperate" the bible a little differently than the other group. Who wrote the bible? Man did, many many century's ago. Don't you think that society at the time wove a few of their beliefs into the writing of the bible? Don't you think society has changed some since then? I would think that if we wrote a bible now, that generations in the future would have problems interperating it, and may not agree with what we put down on paper. Why should we care if someone is gay or not, or if God Made Adam and Eve, and not Adams and Steve. Just let these people live their lives, and if they are condemned to hell for eternity, that's between them and God. Personally I feel the bible is trying to tell us not to judge each other, and to treat each other well. I'm sure it is also saying, believe in God, and do good thing, and you will be rewarded. Don't believe in God, and do bad things, and you will be punished. It has some pretty basic rules of life to live by, but there is only one way for us to truely find out. Rebecca, this isn't really directed at you, but to all the people who read this thread, and to those who are trying to force their religions down on other people. This isn't how we should be doing things in America, and I cannot believe that in this day and age, that some people havn't figured this out about America. Respectfully Signed, Grant S. Adams

Well what would you have General Weida do? I was an enlisted member at the academy from 2000-2004, and I saw a lot of change. Most of the change has been media driven. None of the leadership over looks complaints about harrasment, rape, or religious intolerance. That's not the way the AF is run. What does happen now is everyone is scared of taking any actions without fear of stepping on other peoples toes. As I said, the Academy (and the entire AF) is actively undergoing a bunch of changes. There is a new awakening to this warrior mentallity. I think the chief of staff of the AF was tired of looking at old fat members smoking with a cup of coffee in their hands, and complaining about everything. I think he was tired of it all being called the "Chair Force". I think all the heart ache is because people are hesitant to make changes. This warrior mentality will happen at the Academy faster than it will happen anywear else, as it is probably the only command that really get's a new set of members every four years. There is a mandatory pcs rule for active duty members at the academy. They can only stay there for 3-4 years. It didn't always be that way, as I personally know of several people who managed to homestead there for 15+ years. (I wouldn't want to do that.) I remember a great conversation with one of these people: Me- "We want to change the way we do this." Old timer- "We can't change that!" Me- "Why not?" Old Timer- "Because this is the way we have done it for the past 15 years!" This guy was serious. Having the mandatory pcs rule is a good thing. This will allow for the old "Traditions" to fade away quickly, and for the new "Ethos" to gain a foot hold rather rapidly too. The AF isn't really like the navy were they let 200 years of great tradition hamper new progress. Also the AF is in a mode of downsizing, so they are cutting the fat again. We don't have the money to waste on non-performers, while we change from a corporate entity to an actual fighting force. It's going to be a rough time of transition, while the AD member of teh Air Force get used to actually doing PT, and really deploying, but in five to ten years, it's going to be the way we have always done things. I will admit, it's weird hearing Space Command weinnies saying "hooah". That makes me laugh when I hear them do that. I just keep thinking to myself "go back to your vault, and look at your computer monitor". They are the "lanyard of the spear".

Compare XAOS 21 to VX and/or Velo
Spizzzarko replied to frost's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I've only got two jumps on Joe's slider, but i like it so far. I think the cables have something to do with the canopy opening slowly, and on heading. I think they just make the slider stiffer! I usually extend the brake lines a little on my canopy's when I first get it. I havn't really changed the brake setting points any, but If I had kept my VX, I would have changed it a little to fine tune the openings. -

You can use the brake settings to fine tune your openings.
