  1. I pull the slider off on every jump, but only have the bag come off on hop and pops. Having the bag and pilot chute come off get's to be a little time consuming as you have to reel everything in and stow it. Pull high when you are pulling the bag off. It does add to your packing time a little as you want to make sure you get everything right when you are packing it. A mistake in packing can be a little more disastrouse than with a regular slider setup.
  2. It can get a little cool at night, but you won't need anything more than a sweat shirt. The weather is usually really nice. Most of the really cold stuff happens in the mountains. You MUST come for the CPC nationals, as it is a great time.
  3. It's good for what ailes you.
  4. http://www.canopypiloting.com/cpc.htm There's a link to the section that will tell you the rules. It will all be spelled out in there.
  5. This is were you see the biggest swing in placings.
  6. The time has come again for the Colorado Canopy Piloting Circuit. Get ready to compete and learn, as this season is promised to provide great fun and sharing of knowledge for all involved. This years events will be held over the wonderful pond at Mile Hi Skydiving Center in Longmont, Co. Never swooped a pond before? Worry not as there will be copious amounts of coaching from other competitors. Below is the schedule for canopy piloting events at Mile Hi for this season to include the Canopy Piloting Circuit (CPC) events: 22 April CPC # 1 at Mile Hi * 13 May CPC # 2 at Mile Hi * 3 June CPC # 3 at Mile Hi * 9-11 June Mile Hi PST Competition 1 July CPC # 4 at Mile Hi * 14-16 July Mile Hi PST PRO / AM Training Camp 5 Aug CPC # 5 at Mile Hi * 11-13 Aug Mile Hi PST PRO / AM Training Camp 18-20 Aug CPC Championships 8-10 Sept Mile Hi PST PRO / AM Training Camp * The following day will be used as a weather day if needed. All dates and times are subject to change. Remember this year you only need to attend three out of the five CPC events to be invited to the CPC Championships at Mile Hi. Each local CPC competition will have an entry fee of $50 plus the price of jumps. Also there is an CPC initiation fee of $50 that will be due at the beginning of the season. Each CPC competition will consist of 2 rounds each of Speed, Distance, and Zone Accuracy (a hint for all you future competitors out there: Zone Accuracy is what wins the comp!). For further information on the rules and regulations please visit: http://www.canopypiloting.com/cpc.htm I look forward to seeing all of you out on the Circuit.

  8. I suggest doing a search in this forum for what you are asking. It has been hashed out here many times before. Remember the more turns you do the harder it is to be accurate, and if you want to build speed and be accurate, then use double fronts. If you are having troubles with double fronts go to the gym. That is all.
  9. They should call thongs for men "The Banana Hammock". Google Skyworks Rigging Mell and Joe make a great setup, and their technorra lines are the heat!
  10. It's like a man wearing womens underwear. If everyone knew about it then they would make fun of you, but they just don't realize how comfortable it is... To hell with what the so called swoop gods think. Trust me... Once you go to a removable slider you will never want to go back to the original slider, ever! It will take you a few jumps to figure out how to get it off fast, and how and were to stow it. Once you get that figured out then you will really enjoy the positive aspects of the slider. By the way I do not wear womans underwear, but I jump a removable slider. Grant
  11. The removable slider gives you the best visibility and will work on talons. The added performance of the removable slider is just a byproduct of the many other reasons to buy one. Once you jump a canopy that has a removable slider you will never go back to jumping one without it. That is all.
  12. Why don't you just get a removable slider? They are faster than rolling the regular slider up. They give you much better visibility. They will probably give you better openings. They will allow your canopy to spread out further giving you better performance. They will not hinder a cut away when you get into a canopy wrap like the rubberband ball set up possibly could. That's five positives to the removable slider. The only negative I can think of would be that they take a little more time to pack up at first. Five to one reasons why to get an RDS. Google skyworks rigging, and tell them Grant sent ya!
  13. No. Swooping is what its all about.

  15. Round inner round is about the best I can do man. If it's not an AFF student or a hop and pop then I really have no idea what I'm doing out there. You are right though about your swoops. I'm proud like a parent of your canopy control. If you get a Sabre2 like you were talking about then I will mold you like a young Jedie apprentice... (Darth Vader voice) "Hooooo Haaaaaaa Dan, I am your Swoop father Hooooo Haaaaaa... Let go of your 4-way and give in to your swoop side... I can feel the swoop getting stronger in you my young apprentice... Hooooo Haaaaaa" (Darth Vader Voice) Maybe I'll try some point dives with you in the tunnel soon. I think it might be fun to do that. Although I would probably have to give you an AFF signal or two just so I don't get confused. Grant
  16. Are you going to try and make it out to Colorado this year? Grant
  17. I think it would be very artistic like that broadway show "Puppetry of the Penis". Much better than the "Vagina Monologues".
  18. Ohh we will. You can be sure of that. There are several of us travelling to Cal City to do some jumps this next weekend, so we will be slightly broke for a little while, but we will continue to try and do the one hour a month thing if possible, and if we get enough interest maybe even more. I think Dan would be ok under a velocity untill it came time to land. hahaha I think he is getting a sabre 2 170 or something like that sometime soon. I'll have him swooping downwind and doing freestyle in no time. HA! See you soon. Grant
  19. We told them that the CPC was at a certain date and time and if they wanted to compete they had to be on that load. If they decided to do AFF or tandems instead then they got a zero for the round.
  20. I know how slow you are under canopy... And how much slower you are going to be since you haven't jumped in awhile. This tunnel stuff is overrated Dan, spend your money on a velocity.
  21. A JVX 2.0 is made of sail material so it is much more rigid than regular ZP. It is much thicker too, there fore the pack volume is more. Sail material is what they make some kites out of.
  22. The jSx is a highly modified prototype canopy that will probably not see production for several years. Most people have not achieved anywhere near the amount of performance that the current canopies on the market are capable of. The Z bracing will be amazing when manufacturers offer it, but it will probably not be on the scene for many years.
  23. Contact skyworks rigging. They make a fine rds.
  24. a total Jim Slaton Sponge Is that like a contraceptive sponge?
