I don't log shit. I would have a hard time proving I'm actually a skydiver. Last year I got the totals from manifest and I was at 425. I spent some time down for a broken wrist. so I'll guess at somewhere over 500, but have no idea of an actual number. I've never had a problem going elswhere to jump, and if a DZO has any questions about my currency they can always call my DZ and verify that yes, I actually am a sky jumper. I would sell the house, but not to go skydiving. If it's value has tripled I would take the money and run. I think maybe downsizing would be in order, but I certainly would not give up a descent home and the creature comforts that go with it. I would find a job somewhere close to my DZ of choice, buy a smaller, less expensive house cash, and skydive on my days off. I certainly wouldn't give up all of the things I have valued for so long. San Diego is expensive. I'm sure you can find a beautiful home for a fraction of the price elswhere in the country. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!

I would suggest that with your numbers and intended currency level you fly something a little more forgiving. Nothing personal, but it sounds to me like your instructor isn't looking at the whole picture. All that said, you may be just fine under a 150, I was. I manged to survive, and you could, too. The fact is that for the first 100 or so jumps or so after I got my Sabre all I was doing was surviving, as it's hard to learn on something you are scared of. Get a 170 and learn to fly it. Not only will you be safer, you will learn at a much faster rate. The other thing is that 170's are a dime a dozen. It is the most popular canopy size, so that makes it easy to find one now, and easy to get rid of when you decide to downsize. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!

just curious of your reserve size. I was wondering if you had given thought to upsizing your reserve also. It seems to me that if you are uncomfortable with your main you may also give a thought about the reserve size, too. I know that if I was 4 years uncurrent it would be something I would think about. hahahahahahah I just quit my job last night because of a little bitch like that... He started a bunch of shit with me and then couldn't handle the consequences. The supervisors swept it all under the rug and then wrote me up for " not following proper protocol/chain of command" I've never been written up for anything before, and they wrote it as a final warning. I told my immediate supervisor he is a weasel and I left. I'm a grown man, I don't have time for BS like this. I didn't mean to imply that all .commers are like that. I'm absolutely sure that this is not the norm. I just felt kind of shot down, if ya know what I mean. I also met Sangiro that year, and found him to be one of the most pleasant people I've ever met. There were several .commers who I met outside of the tent who were very happy to represent the community in a positive light (Wingnut, SkyMonkey1, a few others), but I was made to feel unwelcome in the tent, and that sicks. hmmmm...... Rantoul, 2003. I popped my head into the DZ.com tent to introduce myself. One of my " fellow " .commers" told me, and I quote..... " hey dude, the party is out there. He basically insinuated that I wasn't welcome, so that is what I carry with me. I had a great time with Lisa that year, and made a lot of new friends, including the flock, but I was very turned off by the unwelcoming nature of this .commer. I will grant that it was late, but not that late as there were plenty of people still up and partying, me included. I like to think that it was a drunken mistake, but it was just so damn rude.
