Just a reminder to you TMs out there to practice cutaway procedures with both hands. Today after an uneventful tandem freefall I experienced a hard opening followed by a spin that rivaled a sport main spinning mal. It took everything I had with both hands to cut away, and it was FUCKING scary. I had close to 450lbs spinning almost horizontally under a set 400 , it was not fun. Be vigilant ladies, just because it's big doesn't make it docile during a malfunction. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!

I have a few Alouete jumps. They're perfectly sevicable as a jump craft if a little small. It's good fun. You'll probably do just fine at a boogie, but it's usually a one shot deal depending on price. If you could do it cheap enough I would do hop and pops all do long, but it's usually two tickets around here. Not worth the four or five thousand feet I get. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!

I was actually just having this conversation with a highly experienced skydiver a few days ago. Stow your shit and it won't happen. I twist mine up in the slider and put the whole thing down behind my neck. It hasn't come out yet, but I am going to have a velcro tab installed to hold my slider on my next repack. why limit yourself to just a couple of canopies, especially if you think the manufacturer has bad customer service? There are a lot of canopies out there, try them all. I would demo anything I could get my hands on personally. I recently aquired a Crossfire 109 which seems to be a fantastic canopy. Don't limit yourself. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!

I jump wings for { insert reasons here } . It's already been stated that people will tell you that what they jump is the best, and will give you a plethora of reasons why. Basically everything out today is good, safe equipment. Find something you like and buy it. If there is a particular manufacturer close to you, or there's a majority of a particular container on your DZ, you might think about jumping that. There is a good possibility that your local rigger may be more experienced with that brand over another. Plus if " x brand " manufacturer is close to you then it's easy to work out any problems you may have. Good luck Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!

anything you need to do to make yourself a little more comfortable is just fine. More than likely you will probably be fine with the pack job you have, but if it makes you nervous then what the hell, repack it. I'm not a huge "vibes" kind of guy, but when I do get the heeby-jeebies I stop what I'm doing and do something else. Also, don't let the night jumps terrify you. You will probably find that you can see better than you imagine. Just don't bounce off of your shadow
