  1. Out of the Twin Otter, even . .
  2. IPA's are clear liquid. . . Porters and stouts, not so much. Or hefes, for that matter. Why you goin' clear liquids?
  3. That's a kick ass weekend you guys had. No wonder I didn't see you down South. Nice sunset load, BTW.
  4. OMG, you're a mirror image from an alternate dimension. . .
  5. Oooooh, that totally sucks! I got some leftover percosets from my last broken bone. Hope you're feeling better very, very soon.
  6. Boy, how many days have I spent doing that?
  7. Snowstorm in June is always cool. Hope you two had the gear for it. Hypothermia can get you at those altitudes. Chilhuly is a local boy for us. We've met him a couple of times and have lots of his work displayed, esp. in Tacoma. He's done a lot for our region.
  8. It is beautiful back there, isn't it? Ya know, our DZ is right on Highway 101, one of the most scenic drives in the country. You should scooter up here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cog1eSmGvfk&feature=kp
  9. Remember how those were almost extinct when we were kids? I love seeing their amazing comeback.
  10. I had a great time, making 10 jumps, 8 RW and 2 AFF jumps.
  11. Interesting. I always thought one would be nice for summer and tropical boogies, but maybe not.
  12. If you have any credit at all, it's always better to pay off debt using your reserve cash and be debt free. Then, should you need "lost job" reserves. you can run up your credit card(s). My 2 cents.
  13. This.... Countless times I've changed my viewpoint 180 degrees after a good discussion with someone. No one knows everything, no one is correct about everything, and everyone I meet has something I can learn from them. I just hate it when someone takes your disagreement with their position as a personal attack on their worthiness. Seems like petty thinking, IMHO.
  14. E thread is exactly what Vskydiver uses to sew her suits. Man, they last many, many seasons.
  15. Ahh, very good point there, sir. The customer is king, and is the reason for all businesses. BTW, I'm glad to see a few other opinions on my side of the fence.
  16. Used to be all you had to do was turn off your phone. No more stalker.
  17. I understood that immediately from your first post. A lot was read into it by some. I didn't see you say anything offensive, but thanks for smoothing any ruffled feathers. If you get out to Kapowsin Air Sports in WA, look me up and we'll make a jump or two.
  18. Well, I negotiated up to the Long Sleeve T-shirt. No, I'm not kidding.
  19. If gear stores don't have staff riggers, they have ones they contract with regularly. They could take a few $$$ out of the $7000 they have in the till and buy the person a pack job, if they chose to do so for customer relations. Or they could more politely explain the situation to the customer. I think the salesperson's (alleged or perceived, possibly) attitude was the biggest part of the problem. I've swung deals for free assembly, etc. in the past. Money talks. Just make the deal first, not later.
  20. That person lied to you. Many sell gear below MSRP. There IS a bottom price for some manufacturers. Not exactly the calm approach I'd use with a customer that had spent $7000, or with any person, for that matter. You can say "no, sorry, we can't do that" without all the hysterics. Sorry, everyone, for not going with the majority opinion. I just really don't think this person was way out of line.
  21. My wife's Fiat dealership sent her a coupon for a free oil change. Do you think they won't pay the mechanic in the shop that does it?
  22. It's a smaller market, but it's still a market. Nothing wrong with negotiating a better price or freebie or two. I've certainly done it. I feel I support the sport well enough, but business is business. Plenty of gear dealers out there offering great prices and good service, even a few sales. It's your money. Why should you give it away freely?
  23. Some roundabouts have controlled "must exit" lanes but most the ones I drive don't. At any exit point you're free to continue circling or exit. In that case you should use your turn signal, shouldn't you? That way the cars waiting to enter can see you're intending to exit. Save money, time and space.
  24. Damn, Twardo, talk about a huge over-reaction. Women, being generally the smaller and more attacked of the two genders, can be a lot more sensitive to perceived threats than men are. But that's messed up. Glad you got everyone straightened out and pressed charges.
  25. All this pee talk . . . uhhh BRB.
