What kind of problem did you have with cutting away? Was it peeling the velcro or pulling the handle? 7 tugs on the handle is WAAAY too many. Something is wrong, either the rig, your upper body strength, or the technique you're using. If you have high-speed malfunction someday, you may not be fast enough to handle it properly. BTW, one of the biggest causes of hard pulls on any handle is pulling in the wrong direction. Since the cable housings run straight down the front of you, straight down is the direction you should pull the handle. I see too many instructors mime punching the handle away from their body, as if hitting a punching bag. That is definitely the wrong motion and very poor instruction.

Taylor Swift. She's hot. -
I'm sure you'll get plenty of offers. . .
-
H8er. Go sit in the corner.
-
That we could like Taylor Swift? Good voice, easy on the eyes, it's not Nobel prize stuff, just music.
-
Awwww, don't be a h8er!

Thanks, Krisanne. I have to admit we're pretty proud of our kids. They are a lot of fun, aren't they?
-
You're right. They had the jalapeno still in the bottle, probably for the novelty of it all.
-
Tell me you have a couple you want to sell . . . cheap. That'll always get you in the door.
-
Considering all my daughters grew up on dropzones, yeah, I'm not too worried about any of ya.

That sounds pretty good. I had some jalapeno beer years ago. Not good. Beer is great with spicy hot food, but spicy hot beer itself is just wrong.

Sounds like smoking is the safest thing you can do in OZ! That's good news. I remember over half the adults in the country used to smoke anywhere and everywhere when I was a kid. One mom in the carpool tried her best to asphyxiate us every day, chain smoking with the windows up.

None. My gun collection is too well known.

Macklemore and Lewis are very DIY on all their projects, just starting out and with limited budgets. They wanted the video to look like he's landing a parachute on top of the Space Needle. So we showed up with a black jumpsuit, full face helmets and a couple of rigs and an altimeter. We got him suited up with a main canopy out of the bag and held behind him. The Space Needle's roof is a concrete pad maybe 30-35 feet across. Then there's an 8 foot across hut structure on top of that, maybe 6-7 feet tall and a three legged aerial on top of that. He was jumping from the hut down to the roof, trailing the lines and risers as he landed. But he didn't actually parachute. I told him we should get him up in the air this summer. He seemed to like the idea. Very sharp, very athletic, he'd do great, I'm sure.

Also Jessie Farrington, our former conf. director. I believe she and Luke even have some speaking parts.

Not exactly a ringing endorsement. Well, Vskydiver still stays around.
-
Don't know if she'll be satisfied, but I'll sure will be. . .

Absolutely. He and Ryan and his whole band (group? posse?) are very talented and hard working. I hope this is just the beginning of a long and lucrative career for all of them.

Log Book question: What's the right thing to do?

Sucks. We have a pretty hard and fast rule of no guns or gear in cars parked outside overnight. The only exception is if camping. -
Log Book question: What's the right thing to do?

That's one of many reasons I usually keep my log book at home and write them in at the end of the day. -
My two favorite foods. Had those two together just the other day. I like cherry pie with a la mode , . . with chocolate ice cream. I ordered that in a restaurant one time and the waitress came back and said "You just grossed out the kitchen." I said "Ask 'em if they've ever had a chocolate covered cherry." She came back later and said "They said that makes sense."

Vskydiver, my daughter and I got to hang out on the roof of the Space Needle today with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, fresh off their SNL gig this weekend. They were shooting a music video with a skydiving theme and we were there with gear and tech support. Both are super nice guys, very focused, really into the music and great to work with. I hope their next video is as big of a success as "Thrift Store."

There's a lot of real skydiving in the movie too. I'm pretty stoked to go see it.

I didn't listen to the song.
