You spelled that wrong. It's spelled with an "I." True on both counts. Sounds like the Coors Lite of IPA's.

Hey Beautiful, Glad to hear you 3 are coming back to the states. Where will you be stationed? If you get Fort Lewis I'll help you get back in the air. We've got a lot of babies and new moms jumping at our DZ. You, Sammy and Patrick would fit right in.

My first night jump I picked a nice fluffy sagebrush and PLF'd right in the middle of it. Good enough.

I keep seeing Bill Murray in Caddy Shack at the ball washer. -
Glad to know there's always a few data points that don't fit on the curve.

Hey, we're old but we're in kind of okay pretty good shape . . . for our age, ya know.

Pilot ejected from small plane...w/o an ejection seat
JohnMitchell replied to ryoder's topic in The Bonfire
Could be a lie by the surviving instructor to cover his ass for his own negligence. Doing acrobatic moves without seatbelts should get his license to fly revoked. I'm thinking the previous owner was killed crashing a different airplane. Fatal crashes usually bend the plane up beyond easy repair. Unauthorized aerobatics? Yeah, I've sat thru those a time or two. You better have either a seatbelt or a parachute. I can't imagine sitting in a real seat for a real flight, maybe with aerobatics, and not wearing the seatbelt. Darwin is 1 for 2 in this incident. I know, I know, I've flown many times in jump planes w/o a belt, but at least I had a plan B on my back. -
Replay XD: Is it the New Generation of Skydiving Camera
JohnMitchell commented on admin's article in Gear
Thanks for the great review, Spot. That's a good alternative to the boxier camera that's dominating our sport. It'd be easy to make a snag resistant guard for it. -
Thanks for the input. As you well know, I'm a "meat and potatoes, skip the potatoes" kind of guy, so I DO need to readjust the balance a little. However, I do have some very nice NY strip steaks for dinner tonight. Come by around 5-ish.

Your wish is my command (minus the Gator rig). Ahhh, I saw the interview. Thanks, she's amazing as always.
-
Thanks, Spot. It was good to see Dan T. from Paraphenalia. Now go film Roberta wearing the gator rig.

The nipple licking guys at the wedding made me laugh.

No kidding. It would beat the hell out of a lot of screenplays I've seen. I've got some Louis L'Amour on my kindle right now and a good Biography of Thomas Jefferson. Bill Bryson always makes me smile and think, sometimes simultaneously.

My daughter did the same thing and we are now looking at eliminating meat. However, I think I am going to have to keep my eggs. What holes did you see in the science? I just had the nagging thought that they were presenting only their side of the story, even though it made sense. Here's a fairly good look at their scientific methods and some possible "oooops". http://rawfoodsos.com/2011/09/22/forks-over-knives-is-the-science-legit-a-review-and-critique/

Yep, that's kinda how I cook.

I liked how he smiled and said he wouldn't do that again; that it was "stupid."

I just sat on the couch last night with Vskydiver and our youngest daughter and watched "Forks Over Knives", a discussion of diet vs. health. Although there are some holes in the science, it does have me re-thinking my diet some. As a Texan, I was raised on meat, meat and more meat. I guess there's room for more veggies. Most disgusting food? Twinkies.

For TI's - When a tandem student wont jump.....
JohnMitchell replied to shorehambeach's topic in Tandem Skydiving
At my DZ I don't get or expect even that. An occasional refusal is just part of the job. So far I've only had one and I didn't mind the free plane ride. If you are getting so many refusals it's seriously hurting your income, you should examine your "bedside manner." -
I say if you can't run on it, you shouldn't jump on it. The other day I landed a tied off steering line and had to do a heck of a PLF, You just can't guarantee you'll have soft landings that you can favor your ankle.

What is your resting heart rate?
JohnMitchell replied to JackC1's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
High 60's, 55 y.o. , pretty good shape, bike ride and weight train. Hi stress job, but I love it. -
Thanks for posting that. Anyone using a backhoe as an engine hoist is a friend of mine. Just lost a whuffo friend last week to cancer. Enjoy every moment with your friends. You never know how short the time may be.
