    Tornado!

**Do you know what part of Austin was hit? My sister lives northwest of Austin but hasn't called about the tornado.** i have no information on whether it did any damage in austin or not. i just used austin as a general reference to where i live, because no one has ever heard of giddings, texas. except the folks at lexington sky dive. which is 17 miles to my north. it did touch down in giddings, and tore up a lots of people's property, homes, etc...luckily, no loss of life. Tornado!

a tornado came through the little town i live in near brenham, and austin and destroyed my roof on my house, it picked up a 30' X 30' steel garage, ripped it off of the foundation and sent it skyward 1800' intact, until impact with the ground. there was 2" X 2" square aluminum tubing stuck in the ground 4' in spots, the building is a total loss. my wife's jeep grand cherokee laredo was in the garage at the time, the building NEVER touched it.......go figure, we still can't believe it. it tore the shingles off of my roof down to the bare decking. bad weather is a trip! the good thing is, we're all alive, and material things can be replaced. i find myself being materialistic at times, maybe this will "ground me" it hurts to go home and see everything you've worked so hard for destroyed, but we got insurance! (yes, there is a god!) the san antonio area supposedly had the bad weather to, anybody know about it? i'm still on my drilling rig near clay, texas, and don't get to watch a lot of t.v. just what i hear from my employees when they come to work every twelve hours. i'm thankful that no one was killed, or injured. 10. actually, the plane is being redone as per president bush's orders on some advice from h. ross perot. ross told georgy boy the easiest way to end the middle east conflict was to dump poisinous snakes over the terrain.....yeah, thats right, thats the ticket.....
  11. **Just cause he can hook turn does not mean he can take tight corners in my mustang at like 70, then laugh when I skreech.....** last time (and first time) i saw him drive your car like that, i didn't know who it was, and i thought my next stop would be the emergency room, i remember thinking ((hearing this evil mustang roaring down the road)) who in th f**k is this crazie muther f**ker?? then hook drove up laughing his ass off! it really didn't scare me though, yeah, yeah, that's it, that's the ticket..... 12. i'm concerned about you myself, i've read some of your previous posts, and in my opinion, you are careless, and not nearly as observant as you should be. we all make mistakes, some more than others. not flaming you here, just trying to get you to "come to grips" with the safety aspect of this sport we all love, and enjoy. as fellow sky divers, we must care for one another. be safe, take care..... 13. go back to hooknswoop's articles on "test jump 1" & "test jump 2" i believe you can obtain some usable information there. Richard "Why Is This Stinking Canopy Spinning So Violently?"

    DZ Dilemma!

**Just do you know, they moved from gonzales (which would be like 10 min drive from baton rouge) to Jeanerette which is 30 miles south of Lafayette. They might have moved because of the bad publicity from that 20 yr old LSU student that was killed when she didnt thread her chest strap correctly and fell out on opening but I don't know.** i can't comment on that, because i have no knowledge of this particular incident. in any event, you asked for an opinion, and i gave you one. if it were me, i'd jump moss point. Richard "What The F**k Was That?"
  18. **Better not drill in ANWR then, or we'll run out of it first. I agree that the Middle East will run out one day - but if, on that day, our economy depends on massive quantities of cheap oil, we'll have a depression that makes 1929 look like the dot-com boom.** i have the missfortune of being a P.E. i've been drilling oil and gas wells all of my adult life, and i can tell you for fact if the EPA klowns would leave us alone, we wouldn't be dependent on middle eastern oil. i remember researching the nationalazation of the middle eastern fields. we took our geologists, equipment, men, machinery and technology, ten years later they said "Get Out" by the way, were keeping your wells, and equipment for ourselves. "we" created that monster. we have alaska, canada, the off shore areas of california, and florida that are virtually untouched, and yet they contain vast and copious amount of unretrieved hydrocarbons. let the arabs eat there oil, we've got our own. OTOH if we let O.P.E.C. Russia, and Mexico (Russia, And Mexico Not O.P.E.C. members) dictate oil output to control the price of oil and gas, then we can start looking for that 1929 thing, in my mind, it's not a matter of if, but when. for more on this, visit rigzone.com it's where we get our daily news on the energy front. 20. **Doesn't matter. Liberals. Conservatives. Basically all national politicians are lying, cheating, self-serving scumbags in some way or the other. They all suck.** yeah, don't it just piss ya off? being's as "we" as the american public elected these individuals with such high standards. Richard "The Real Fun Is At Deployment Time"

    DZ Dilemma!

i've jumped both dz's a couple of years ago, when i was drilling a deep gas well in helvitia louisiana, south of the "sunshine" bridge on the mississippi river. MY choice would be moss point, no decision. the "other" dz south of gonzales louisiana (burnside louisiana actually) is what i refer to as a "tail gate" dz. besides, moss point has more sky divers, and fly way more often, and if you do video, they can process it right away, unlike the other dz, ya gotta wait 2 or three days so the video guy can take it home and get it ready. have fun either place! Dave Mustaine

to my knowledge, and i've followed dave mustaine all the way from his pre-metallica days to megadeth, he never did sky dive. he thought the bass player (dave ellefson) and the drummer (nick menza) and the lead/rythem player (marty friedman) formerly of cocophony were nuts for doing it. i've got ellefson on video doing a tandem, and aff jump, menza, and friedman doing the same, but no dave. i have the video "rusted pieces" with the single video on it (which inspired the song/lyrics) "high speed dirt" and prior into the intro (live, onstage) mustaine refers to the song being written by himself, because he had some crazy fu**ers in his band that liked hurling themselves out of fu**ing airplanes. i'm not saying he hasen't, i'm just saying i'm not aware of it, and the way he talked about it in the outakes of the full length video, he thinks there'e nuts. nonetheless, the video makes for excellent intros for first time tandems, i've taken it to the dz, they love it! 23. i've been with my wife for 16, going on 17 years. either she's very strict, or my huevos aren't very big. (the truth is i know how to keep her off my tail) i wouldn't dare think of lying to my wife. it wouldn't be worth the despair. (plus, she knows how to shoot) i know guys, i know. (i'm the idiot that taught her) i'm gone away a lot on business, and she's by herself, so i did it as a means of her being able to protect her self. but anywho, back to your question, listen to an "old man" life's WAY YONDER too short to put up with out being happy, no matter what the cause, as far as steps to alleviation, i'm sure you'll work that out. good luck, best wishes.
