My expert advice is to read this carefully. You should follow it up with this one. Arrive Safely John -

I second the recommendation for the WD 250GB. I have one and it kicks ass. The only thing I wish it came with was a bag or case. I had to scrounge something else. Arrive Safely John

That is one to buy and keep for years, driving only on the most perfect of Sundays, and keeping it lovingly stored in one of those ari inflated bubbles in the garage. Then 30 years from now, when you take it to a car show, people will look at the odometer and the original tires and drool over it. Arrive Safely John

slotperfect replied to markovwgti's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I just spent 20 minutes cleaning this thread up, removing off-topic chatter, one-liners, and multiple PAs. I cleaned it up instead of locking it because any *clear* conversation about this issue has potential value to more than just the OP. All: keep the thread on topic. [warning]markovwgti, ozzy13, and virgin-burner - PAs are not tolerated in the forums [/warning] Arrive Safely John -
Thanks, George. Arrive Safely John

I had Precision's links confused with HiPer's links. I have all of the info saved at work but I won't be back there for a couple of weeks. I will double-check my info on the Precision link but I would not have posted what you quoted if I wasn't sure at the time. Arrive Safely John

Yes I'm going. No I'm not taking a rig. See you there Twardo - the first one is on me. Arrive Safely John

Wrap-It links - I have to check my info at work to see if they are TSOd or not. I think I have them confused with HiPer's links, which are for mains. PD SR-1 SLinks are TSOd. Aerodyne's Soft Links for Reserves are TSOd. Flight Concepts Cinch Links are for mains - they are not TSOd. There may be more, but those are the ones I did my homework on 18 months ago. He had an incredible voice - soulful and powerful. He was very underrated as a rock vocalist, IMO. Arrive Safely John

He was always "aesthectically challenged," but he is really showing his age. He is playing in Greenville, SC the night before the Van Halen concert in Raleigh, which I already have tickets for. I don't thin I will try and make them both - I will catch him next time he comes around. Arrive Safely John

I packed a Silhouette 210 with spectra lines into a J-4 for a long time. It was a little tight. At work I now have a J4.5K and the same Silhouette and it fits fine. Arrive Safely John

PD has since disallowed the use of SLinks on tandem main canopies due to melting of risers from slider grommets that get hot due to friction. This friction was not an issue when SLinks were first approved for tandem mains - mains built at the time were the EZ series with 6-grommet sliders. When they went back to a 4-grommet slider on the Sigma canopies, they disallowed the use of SLinks. They advise against using SLinks on any large canopies that use 900lb lower lines and #25 slider grommets. All of the above is straight from the horse's mouth. The PD-281R is listed on the order form, as are SLinks as an option. http://www.performancedesigns.com/orderforms/res-f.pdf To be sure I would call PD and ask them about compatibility.
