  1. yes, your brake lines will sometimes shorten quite a bit in the first 50-100 jumps. it looks like your brake lines are too short, way too short. also, about finishing your flare.... your not going to be able to finnish much more, due to the drastically short brake lines. you may stall the canopy. you will most likely find loosening your brake lines will solve most of your problems... have someone with experience jump the canopy and decide how much to loosen them, but my guess would be at least 2-3 inches.
  2. be carefull doing that, you can ruin the alternator, and, or burn up one of the many computers that is in cars nowadays. the problem is, if you have a bad battery, how you going to get it started to disconect it while it is running?
  3. ohh i must disagree......but again i am referring to older cars.....98 and older please do tell.
  4. if the battery is dead, and will not charge, it is impossible to tell any other problems. replace the battery and re test..

  12. Nope. Two engines there, tech, each set up differently. The smaller engine had a chain, but for some reason the bigger V6 had a rubber belt for a few years. I think this is because the smaller engine XE is the same as what was in the Sentra or something else in the line already, and the V6 in the SE was a newer engine. Still, I can't find anyone who can tell me why they used a rubber belt in the more expensive model, which if it were to break, would be devastating to the engine. ...oh, yeah, I can...have you seen Nissan parts pricing?! http://209.85.165.104/search?q=cache:uv9Bwiy1IdcJ:www.samarins.com/reviews/xterra.html+2000+nissan+xterra+timing+belt&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=4&gl=us there is about 1, 2.4 liter 4 cyl out there for avery 5000 v6 xteras (I would guess I am being generous about those number also). when you talk about the xterra, it is all but assumed it is the v6. p.s. I have been working for nissan for over 15 years. the xterra is very reliable.
  13. Oooh it's the sexy mechanic whats up girly.. I prefer technician.
  14. the 2000 xterra has a 105,000 mile timing belt. fyi

  16. it is not all that hard to explain chris. someone (you) with a passion, drive and a focus. went after a dream and brought a bunch of others with him.... I could not thank you enough.
  17. chris, thanks for everything you have done. I know for a fact that you are responsible for bringing up some of the TOP canopy pilots in the world.. don't forget that.!
  18. that doesnt mean it is blown... your not going to get the correct answer here.. also, if it overheated because of "no water", there is no way for your temp gauge to tell you it is overheating. the temp guage sensor has to be submerged in water to work correctly. also, be aware, radiators blow because the car overheated for some reason, usually. the high pressures and the boiling water makes it pop internally and the radiator cracks on the plastic housing. so do some thinking, did the radiator blow because it overheated? if so you also have another problem. if not, what kind of damage did the overheat cause? get it to someone who knows what the hell is going on. and usually you will NOT find that person at a tire store or a jiffy lube.
