  6. your definitely big, but in no way shape or form a fat ass. I need to get my ass out there for a weekend before the snow melts. want to pick me up at the airport and go snowboard for a weekend?
  7. everyone, I mean everyone. including you. had the opportunity to voice your opinion and have the rules set up like you think they should be.
  8. aww cmon ray, I know you got a bad taste in your mouth now. I'm not sure of the reasons, but you got to admit, this levels the field a little. granted, it may not be perfect, lets see how it goes. we can always petition to have it tweaked next year. ray, come to dublin, I will make sure I cheer you up. also ray, you told me you weren't going to compete in the circuit this year. there are still all the other, non pst events to go have fun at.
  9. you might be surprised at what it really is.
  10. check out the new weight restrictions. the way the chart is now means I get to wear between 20-25 lbs extra weight. that is awesome for me because that is what I wear anyway. what do you get to wear, If any. http://www.canopypiloting.com/home.asp?ItemID=355&rcid=82&pcid=81&cid=82 I wonder what the distance event last year would have been like with these restrictions. how much weight were you wearing jay? and scott? john? just curious
  11. DUDE, I will travel anywhere to jump with Rod and the 412 again.
  12. let me guess jim. Im going to have to return the favor and help you out with this one huh?....
  13. yup, still got the 87. I cant afford a 2.0 just yet so I dont have one. but the JVX is very sensitive to minor changes in the lines, from what I have found so far. and MEL. 1 1/4 inch did the trick on the brake setting. put it at just shy of 186 cm and it is much better. I also changed where I was measuring from which made the change slightly more than I had originally expected.
  14. I have had a few come to me and say " I want to be able to do ----- by the end of this class." Im sitting there thinking, "you got 30 jumps and you want me to teach you -------?" then you just say, "well, we need to work on these other things before we get to that, here are the reasons why" and sometime they are open to that, and sometimes you loose them right there.
  15. it is perfect, why would you do that?... I changed my brake eylet setting on the jvx this weekend, to change the opening a bit. but that is it. I was considering bringing the "d" cascade out about a centimeter or two also. but haven't done that one yet.
  16. telling someone "no you can't do that" is holding them back. I try to make it a point never to tell someone no. I do however, try to educate, teach them why they would or why they wouldn't do something, if they choose not to listen, I choose not to educate them anymore. then you get the ones who want advice, and to pick your brain. thats fine too, I give out all info I can freely to anyone who asks me. as soon as they go against the advice I give them, I no longer give out advice to them. telling someone "no, you cant do that" will only bring out the ego in every wannabe swooper to prove you wrong, they will try and prove to you that they can. so to bring it full circle, don't tell them no, and give them advice until they don't take it.
  17. yes. I have tried out a few on the vx for him...
  18. I couldn't tell you speed difference. but there is noticeable speed difference. and for distance, 80 to 100 ft more distance, right from the first jump.
  19. I hold my toggles in around my palm with my pinky finger and ring finger locking it in place, then my index finger and middle finger to use front risers and my whole hand to grab the rears, still locking the toggles in with with the two fingers.
  20. still long enough to grab onto. see ya sat night at the farm.
  21. thats somone trying to be nice by not telling you not to swoop. they are saying go fly a kite. j/k, Im not sure, but if it is an inflatable wing kite, Im guessing you could learn something.
