this isn't about the safety of your gear this isn't about how cool you are this isn't about your right to base jump. it is about being able to skydive. your pissed because you feel like your rights have been taken.. maybe they have. but don't you see that a base jump at a skydiving boogie is stupid? especially with the faa there... amanda. karma is a bitch. and if gary did nothing the potential for something bad happening was high. you guys need to chill... there is and was no harm done in anyway!
-
i'm arrogant as hell, well at least in the skydiving world... but the same thing happens to me...
-
attatch your deployment system to it, then use it as a main!

good, I want to go snowboarding![

it isnt easy././. but trust me, DAN will be fast!

That is a very good analogy. Seriously. There is positively no reason that I would be unsafe flying my wingsuit off a terminal wall in Norway with my wingsuit skydiving rig and pulling at a suitable altitude (I have over 1000 wingsuit jumps and over 4500 skydives), but I am sure there are a bunch of twits out there that would try and give me at least this much grief if I did it anyway. Chuck It is a good analogy chuck.... but me being a skydiver, I would never show up unless one of my BASE friends showed me the way... and im Positive!!! you wouldnt either....

That's funny, I thought it was legal besides inside of some national parks. As far as I know, there are no laws against BASE jumping if you have permission from the fixed object owner and the land below it. The 20 BASE jumps I've done have all been legal: Bridge Day, the Perrine, Norway. you have to forgive me, I really know nothing about BASE. what I DO know is about skydiving.... and jumping out of an aircraft with a BASE rig, is not legal... Maybe it should be, Im not going to judge...but the fact is, at a sKYDIVING boogie, with the FAA present???? that could cause a negative reaction.... seriously, If I can help make BASE legal, let me know.... I will do what I can... Im all for having rights!

you really should practice zone acc. that is where your going to make money! since you will have a JVX for this event. i wouldnt worry too much! you will be fast!

actually. i will bet you a jump ticket it is for the spectators and your going to have to drag water. also, your going to have to get used to suprises, and being flexible.

VX vs Velo: 270 turn starting altitudes
marks replied to frost's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
wow...I think you man are doin' something wrong... I start at 500ft for a 180turn under my katana 107 loaded 1.8....... and I have a good recovery arc and nice 180-200ft swoops..w/out havin' to plan too soon.. i think the katana will dive just as much as a vx. there is a possibility that it dives more. -
I Have "0" base jumps. I have 20 or so friends who are base jumpers. does that change anything... I think we all agree, keeping the FAA out of things is a good idea. gary happened to know this FAA person, and asked them to talk to this"kid" and maybe give him a scare. maybe he was wrong maybe he wasn't. but we all agree that jumping a baloon at a skydiving boogie, "with the FAA" present with a "base rig" is stupid. not for safety reasons, but for many other "PR' type reasons. it is clear gary has good "PR" with this FAA rep. and im sure it is still good, if not even better.

with all due respect, keep the base jumping and skydiving separate. I know base jumping is illigal, I dont think it should be. but skydiving is leagal, and I for one would like it to stay that way. if you want to base jump a ballon.. fine, wear a single harness duel parachute pack, and just before exit scream an emergency. that should keep things legal... if you want to be illigal about it, keep it out of skydiving..

Do you prefer a one piece jumpsuit or two piece for freefly?
marks replied to grue's topic in The Bonfire
with liquid sky sports 2 piece, "if worn correctly" you will never have it fly up on you. like i said before, it has a spandex lower portion that fits snug to your body. this spandex part "TUCKS IN" to the bottoms. if you wear the suit correctly, it will not fly up. But they also make full suits, I just prefer the 2 piece. it NEVER flies up. -
I work for nissan. I work to get paid, if they dont pay me i dont do the work they will only pay for diagnostic and part replacement in that situation. it isnt the dealer, it is the manufacturer. nissan will not pay for that. this is warrenty repairs though.

I like my 2 piece suit from www.liquidskysports.com. it has an elastic waist that tucks into the pants and never rides up in any way. I like the 2 piece because when it is hot and humid I can just take the top off and wear the pants all day. liquid sky sports is running a special KICK ASS deal if you buy a full suit. full or 2 piece. then you get one hell of a deal on something else that im not going to mention, you will just have to ask them. or you can click on my link in my signature and see what the deal is at my website.. -
how is Krystal's space ship doing?
