    he probably had been chased out of a dz and ended up going there... it would have been wise to stop his behavior quickly. maybe not another jumper saying something, but at least saying something to the dzo, or s&ta. so they could take care of it.

    they couldnt catch it last time because it probably wasnt the problem.. letting a car sit for 24 hours with a voltage draw on the cd player will kill it.,.. why did it last so long? a short will draw the battery down quick. it wouldnt have lasted weeks. and im willing to bet you 10$ that one of your kids slid change down in the cd player hole. and that is what is shorting it out. but of course, all everyone sees is 90$ to do something i dont understand, means they are ripping me off.. ask the manager to explain it to you. if people bring there cvar into me, I will be damed if I diagnose a short for free. it aint happenin. it takes a little skill and a bit of knowledge to be able to do that.

    yes it has been, but it was discussed this way to make it simple, and to take other variables out so it could be understood in its most basic form. but what you speak of, "wind gradient", is interesting I have heard of that before, not sure how much a role it plays, but it is something to think about nonetheless.

    hahah, i'm not the best at making a structured environment. i have in the past, and also have learned from my mistakes, I plan on doing it again in the beginning of next year. with some improvements.

    I think they are basically as reliable, and I understand all your points. It's been a long thread, so you may not have caught all my comments, but it was something to the effect of, "It is a skydive (being from a balloon), so why not go higher and use a skydiving rig with 2 parachutes." Also my concern about the legality of it was that it could affect skydiving or the WFFC. BASE jumping is a great sport, but mixing it with skydiving would seem to eventually cause problems I don't think either sport wants. Thanks for the comments. that is a great summary. thanks.

    I am NOW a course Director. come to Skydive The Farm, and get your cards signed off!! I will work the details out later... I teach to those that are willing to listen. on a weekly bassis. usually newbies, sometimes advanced. I would love for U.S.P.A. to have a rating program for this. A strict one also.
