I think Chris and everyone has some good points, from different perspectives.... not to open another can of worms, we all know the story behind this..., i just wish Summerfest and WFFC weren't at the same time so i could enjoy both. after all it is about SPREAD THE LOVE isn't it? so chris, jump with me at summerfest? no flashing though sorry.

ok, I love Roger and Skydive Chicago, but this is him promoting his event you know. SDC is the biggest and best dz in the midwest, and most boogies can't compare to 3 Otters. But it's still not wffc. I don't doubt he'll break 1000 jumpers though, including me, with Don unable to secure a location and make plans for this summer, there's probably not going to be a wffc 2002, and everyone will go to chicago. if that's the case, i sure hope Roger brings home some other planes becuase 3 Otters won't keep everyone happy.... spread the love

i did FlyAway once and it sucked. they don't care if you're a skydiver or not, you have to wear their suits, and they barely crank the airspeed up enough to get you off the net... then you only have 3 minutes of time for $25, which after the 15 year old in charge gets done showing off - i mean, showing you how to do it - is more like 30 seconds... and the air column is bellshaped, if you don't stay deadcenter you slide off. go to Orlando, made for skydivers not pigeon forge tourists. unless your willing to fork out the $$$ to buy enough time in flyaway, it's not worth it.

i've gotta say i went in both 2000 and 2001, and had an awesome time both years. yes there were more cops and less people in 2001, but it was still a blast. if you only went for the jet, of course you'd be upset. i went to make some great skydives out of a lot of different aircraft with cool people from all over the world, and i did. i jumped the bomber, biplane, helicopter, balloon, mullins king air, skyvan, casa, otter... etc. etc. and to be with thousands of other skydivers from everywhere, i got to jump with the golden knights, monkey claw, rodriguez brothers, muff brothers and just about anyone... I made a lot of new friends and partied every night. don't bash quincy 2001 just becuase of rumors. i went to summerfest for a couple days as well. i made some awesome skydives with the Nelson's and everyone up at SDC, but it was very different from Quincy. Summerfest was like you average good weekend at SDC, enough people to keep the planes flying back to back, pretty mellow crowd and no big night time festivities... summerfest disperses when the sun goes down and everyone goes their own way, whereas quincy everyone comes together at night to party hard and socialize. and summerfest only had a few hundred people. It depends on what you're looking for... if you want low-key quiet at night go to summerfest... if you want more people bigger social scene go to WFFC. i'm hoping they can work something out to keep WFFC alive becuase it is still the most fun i've ever had on any vacation... but like everything else, it is what you make of it.

listen to lawndart and chuck, they know what they're talking about.... i've only got 17 board jumps, but it's just a totally unique discipline within skydiving... you can't rightfully compare it to rw or freefly... but i won't say much, becuase i don't still feel like i know enough about it or am very good... (like the guy who's made one jump and wants to tell you how to skydive)... i have a few photos on http://www.lewmonst.com/surf.htm unfortanely only babyboard photos, none on the intermediate board i've been jumping... as always in skydinvg, speak to those who have the experience

i've been to about 16 dropzones so far... and it's hard to choose a favorite... tops on my list are: Eloy and Carolina Sky Sports also love: Greene County (OH), Richmond (IN), Coolidge, Skydive Kansas, Skydive Smoky Mountains, (skydive daytona beech), skydive chicago, cleveland sport parachute... agree that deland is a fine place, but it really helps knowing someone... teams are focussed and seem cold to funjumpers and whuffos, packing space is limited so sometimes stressful... but the dz is well run, good planes, nice staff had a bad taste of Cross Keys as a student, haven't been back to know it from the other side though... and a small cesna dz is a great place becuase they're so welcoming and like a family

agreed, don't let anyone say what you can and can't do... so, either she starts to jump with you, or you get rid of her. sorry to sound harsh, but we all know, the more jumps you have the harder it is to keep a whuffo girl/boyfriend... so CUT AWAY

I have to SECOND the comment "I narrowed down my dating pool by 99%"!!!! and it was hard enough to find a good man amongst the general population, now to find one amonsgt skydivers... again... sigh..... although i have an amazing knack for finding one 2000 miles away... anyone want to go skiing since it's too cold to jump here?

yes, the home crowd from Richmond Indiana, aka Aerodrome Sky Sports, aka Skydive Wayne County aka Waynesville Skydiving... anyway, we're dropping in on Texas for our anual Let's Go Somewhere Warm with Steve trip. I pretty sure it's Skydive San Marcos this year. I haven't heard from Anne, Bud, Mary or anyone lately as the final count as how many are going. But there'll probably be enough to keep Roger's Otter running all day, we had a great time in Pahokee last year. oh, and it's around Feb 21 - 24 i think when we're going. So feel free to join us.
