I am not an experienced enough pilot to compare adequately. Remember, I only have 5 wingsuit flights. I imagine there must be a performance tradeoff for the convenience and comfort of the prodigy. I think the new PF intermediate suit will rival the Gti, where the prodigy is probably a rival to the classic II. I noticed a difference, but not a fall rate/ floating type difference. I think the "different feel" I experienced was due to the different designs of the leg wing and the different hand positions I had. The prodigy has grippers and with the Gti your hands are free. There is another thread by a more experienced pilot you should read if you haven't already. Here is a link: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1667158;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread "I know it's friday night, but come on. Well, I'm not an expert, not even a capable pilot yet, actually. I only have 5 flights: 4 Gti and 1 prodigy. IMO, if I had not already bought the Gti, I would have DEFINITELY chosen the prodigy. You just have to find a way to demo one. It's amazing. You don't have to do any prep in the plane, and I mean: none. Even on the ground, to get rigged up, all you have to do is put on the jacket, then your rig, then your pants. The pants are just like tracking pants plus a wing, and they attach to your sneaks so that you can get good tension. The arm wings undo by either pushing your arms upwards (reaching hard & quick, or you can reach in towards your waist and undo the snaps. You can attach the snaps easily in the plane or on the groiund. You can walk to the plane, board the plane, sit down, get up, and jump with out doing ANY rigging. There are no leg zippers, and also no arm zippers because you don't need to unsnap your wings if you don't want to, i.e. base, but for optimal canopy control(skydiving/swooping) you can undo them in 0.2 seconds. It's just a revolutionary design and I adore it. Plus it's a great price! Go for it! "I know it's friday night, but come on. OMG I can't freakin' wait!! I met the PF guys at Zhills and tried on both suits and was so impressed with the craftsmanship, material quality and knowledge behind the products - wow, they just blew my teva's off. I don't jump enough to get to a Vampire level suit and even though I demo'ed and was extremely impressed with the beginner suit, I guess I just want more of a straightjacket And I'm used to my Gti. Anyway, it's getting time for another suit and I really, really want a PF suit! So I just can't freakin' wait! Anyone know if they are taking pre-orders? "I know it's friday night, but come on. Sweeet. I like. I'll have to agree with the chickies about the girly shirts. Maybe I'll get a nice one from old navy and give it to you. I think a light sky blue with the darker blue paint. That would be sweet. "I know it's friday night, but come on. Surely there's something better to do than yell at people on the internet?" - Tom A.

My first rig was a Talon - it had a spectre 210 and a rascal 202 7 cell reserve. I recently brought it up to date and now use it as my wingsuit rig. I have a crossfire 169 in it now, and can't imagine having any problem getting spare reserve parts from the manufacturer, seeing as they're still in business. But, I haven't needed any in years. There are lots of these talons still around, I see them pretty cheap here in the classiffieds all the time. They seem to have have held up pretty well compared the other rigs their age, and I personally recommend them. I don't have the tuck-tab riser mod, but I have the super-duty construction grade velcro and it works like a friggin' dream. Never had a problem, even freeflying. Uhhhh, I think it might be a good idea to kill this thread. Call me paranoid, but dz.com forums DO show up on public search engines. I don't want to give any ideas to the assholes in the m.east. Talk about losing even more of our skydiving rights. Sorry for sounding like a bitch here, but of all the forums, I'm surprised I have to state this in the base zone. Congrats! I can't wait to meet ya! The classic is a very good idea for a small girl like you. I'm not sure if you know Diana, but she's teeny and only put one jump on her classic and got some amazingly low speeds. She was floating like nuts. So, Ron and I are going to practice and eventually get to S3's so we can (try to) stay with her. Maybe you two can flock And I love the suit!! It's awesome!

Look, voodew, none of us are perfect. I got boned over by BirdMan the first few times I dealt with them. I thought that's how they were, well time has shown I was wrong. I just saw a couple bad apples and someone else who was having a bad day. There, I said it:"I WAS WRONG". People have bad days, obviously you do too, and some people are assholes. I was really trying to walk away from this thread, but instead I need to say something.... Watch yourself, admit when you are wrong, learn from your own mistakes, because if you don't, you are one of those assholes that you are complaining about. "I know it's friday night, but come on. I came out late on Sunday and missed you Lou! However, I FINALLY got my first jump in! It's only been about 2 or 3 months I've been waiting now! I know....beer, beer, beer. I was so sad everyone quit jumping early to drink beer but it was the end of the weekend after all. I will catch up with you all eventually! "I know it's friday night, but come on. Howard Stern says goodbye to radio.....
skyflyingbecca replied to ChasingBlueSky's topic in The Bonfire
No one I knew could believe it when they droppped Mark for Howard Stern! Mark's baby was a week away, the ratings were up and had stayed up for YEARS. I listened to them since their debut 9 years ago. And Cindy the local skydiving DJ worked on that morning show too! I haven't listened to that station since, and that really sucks because their music was awesome. I hope they go outta business. "I know it's friday night, but come on. The song "Date Rape" was sending a message against date rape. Any idiot who listens to the whole song knows that. People who take a title or a couple lyrics and make an assumption about what the song is about are ignorant.

Hey everybody, Please cast a vote, this is my first thread and it would suck if it fizzles.... We were talking about this in the women's forum and it was suggested I bring the donor requirements & stats over here. Copyright Mosby’s Paramedic Textbook UNOS Transplant Statistics Every 16 minutes a new name is added to the national transplant waiting list. I'm borrowing a friend's Triathlon 160 for the first few jumps then using my Crossfire 160 after that. I'm packing it up in my beautiful Talon for the boc. I'd really rather not convert the Mirage. The suit is ti-eeet. I'm gonna exercise my ass off so I don't rip it. Sunday was supposed to be the big day, however some chick named Jeanne is totally f'ing up my whole weekend. Yes! I finally got the suit in yesterday! The purple spandex section is the new part. Lemme know what y'all think! "I know it's friday night, but come on. Surely there's something better to do than yell at people on the internet?" - Tom A.

Not at all. Those Honda engineers are something else! Damn, I can't tell you how many times I, uh, I mean, someone I know has topped out my unmodified Honda Civic EX 4 cyl at 135mph. Yeah it takes a bit of warming up, but that's a hell of a ride in an economy car! I can't freakin' imagine what the bikes are capable of! "I know it's friday night, but come on. What those little Icons do when we are sleeping...

ROFLNow that was absolutley adorable!! I liked the MSN dude best, though. He was just trying to have some fun with ICQ, bouncing his head around like that! "I know it's friday night, but come on. Surely there's something better to do than yell at people on the internet?" - Tom A. -
Thanks for the clarification. I don't know any active BASE jumpers in my area these days, but back when I first started skydiving, I was asking around Pahokee about BASE and equipment and someone told me the prices on a new BASE setup and the canopies were way cheaper because they didn't have to go throught TSO testing, but I guess I misunderstood and they were talking about the container and (lack of) reserve. "I know it's friday night, but come on. Surely there's something better to do than yell at people on the internet?" - Tom A.
-
This might be a silly question, but what about the rate of speed BASE canopies open at? I thought they open pretty quickly, even if you pack for a terminal opening.... And don't you want a bit of a snivel on a wingsuit jump? What about the ramifications of using a non-FAA approved canopy on a skydive? Or are some of these approved? Silly newbie questions, I know, but I had to ask.. "I know it's friday night, but come on. Surely there's something better to do than yell at people on the internet?" - Tom A.

DOOH !!! Still waiting for the suit, hopefully I'll recieve it tomorrow

I have been trying to find a used Gti to fit me for months now. I finally called Birdman and asked if they could modify one in the hips to fit, I had the idea of sewing some spandex into the butt seam below the back panel of spandex and above the leg wing. Diagram attached. Kim said if anybody would/could do it without having to send it overseas, Terry could. So, I found one that fit perfectly in height, bought it and he charged me $80. I should get it in the mail this week. His work is supposed to be extremely high quality. I'll let y'all know how it turned out. "I know it's friday night, but come on. BASE jumpers are just the hottest! But really: confidence depth of soul shyness, not the kind that scared people have, but the kind quiet people have, ya know? kindness maturity All very, very sexy things. Although big pecs & a north germanic accent never hurt either Me: My friendliness...? Everyone says they like my smile. "I know it's friday night, but come on. Florida Power and Light are FUCKING INCOMPETENTS
skyflyingbecca replied to peacefuljeffrey's topic in Speakers Corner
Damn, Jeff, you're the CALMEST motherfucker I think I've ever met!! Tee-hee! I thought your post was outragously funny. It captured the frustrations all of us south floridians are going through right now. My boss just got fired for not coming in to work quickly enough after the storm! And he was the bast damn boss I've ever had! Never mind the fact that he lives in groundzero in PSL and still has an inch of water in his house and a tree on it! And no power or phone or cable or gas !! Freakin' bullshit! I'm a virgin to the speaker's corner, I've never been here before and probably never will again, it just ain't my style... I have too much of a temper and try to avoid things that make me boil. Never mind that EVERYONE I know gets pissed off when I tell them who I'm voting for. I gave up trying to change anyone's mind a long time ago. I'm one of those few that enjoy getting back to the basics of the candlelight and soft breeze wafting through the house..... But the joy of that is overshadowed by my neighbors kicking on the generator to watch the game last night. However, I just now, at 5:30 pm, eastern standard time, got MY POWER RESTORED!!!! Not to rub it in, but seeing as we live right down the street from each other, yours probably is, too. Unless the bucket truck guy forwarded your post & vital information to fp&l, that is! In that case, I just PM'd you directions & an invitation to share my a/c. And I commend you for admitting your inequities: Oh, and I can tell you a few juicy FP&L bureaucrat stories someday, I've got the down-low.... but it'll have to be somewhere where the big brothers ain't listening, or I will be the next one to get fired!
