  1. I like those! Nice to see some girly tees ~La La Gang Member #2~
  2. congrats on your first jump and welcome to the dropzone. Thanks for your patience too, it has been a crazy couple of weekends for us. I am sure you heard that our Otter is in Chicago so the 182's were a bit busier than usual. Thankfully the otter will be back this weekend. ~La La Gang Member #2~
  3. Blue skies Pops, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Pops had an amazing presence at our dropzone and words can not even express how much he will be missed. I think he looked at all of us as one of kids, and looked after us in that way. He cared so much about everybody. He was jumping his ass off at the convention, and making many great skydives. I am a believer in everything happens for a reason, this one has me mystified right now. God Bless Chrissy ~La La Gang Member #2~
  4. my $.02 is for AT&T, I have found that in my area that have great coverge, I even get a signal out at my dropzone which is not close to civilization. Their calling plans are decently priced and they have good customer service. I have a few friends that have T-Mobile, they say it really sucks, from horrible coverage to horrible customer service, but that is just what they say, I have no personal experience. ~La La Gang Member #2~
  5. I jump a Mirage G4, and I find it extremely comfortable. It doesn't hang down past my butt and fits into the small of my back which makes it pretty darn comfortable. ~La La Gang Member #2~
  6. Quotethe flying hell fish?Quote If you have ever funneled a skydive in your life then you are eligible to become a hellfish. Stop by the tent this year at Rantoul, make a jump with a hellfish and get your hf# We are also experts at raft dives so come on over and say hi. ~La La Gang Member #2~
  7. what? then what? are ya heading back to MI? ~La La Gang Member #2~
  8. It would be nice if harness container manufacturers would put this information on their web pages. All I found for bullitins on Mirage's page is: "Technical Updates and Bulletins Reserve Static Line Field Installation Instructions Secondary Main Closing Loop Attachment Point Notice on Mirages Made before March 1, 1997 Mirage pre-emptive grommet fix" It looks like Mirage has a link on the front page about the Capewell recall, it is right above the pictures of the G3 and G4, it takes an extra second or two for it to show up. Last time I clicked on it though the link was down.... ~La La Gang Member #2~
  9. I totally agree! I bought a Samurai a couple of months ago and it was the best choice I ever made. Canopy flying use to be my least favorite part about skydiving, now I am so much more comfortable under canopy. I actually go up and do hop and pops just to fly my canopy, whereas I use to only do them during the winter to keep current. I think it is great to be able to call up a company and be able to ask questions about the canopy to the creator of the canopy. ~La La Gang Member #2~
  10. You can add me to that list. Everyone make sure you stop by the Hellfish tent too!! ~La La Gang Member #2~
  11. well, here is my teammates G4, which I don't find ugly at all, maybe you saw a bad pack job. My rig looks exactly like it, I just don't have pictures of it. ~La La Gang Member #2~
  12. I've been great! I am sure you know your own ability and I think the people you jump with might now a thing or two about caopies So have fun with it, I just started to enjoy flying my canopy, ever since I got my Samurai. I'll let you know when I am thinking of visiting, things get so hectic at the end of the season with Rantoul and Richmond at the Bridge. And definately no wine! ~La La Gang Member #2~
  13. I have a G4 and absolutley love it. I haven't jumped a G3 so I can't give you an opinion about that. But I think the G4 is sleeker than the G3, it doesn't have all of the bulk in the main tray like the G3 does. it is more spread out. It is sooo comfortable, I recently did a hop and pop for 14k and was so comfortable in the harness, felt bad for the other people on the dive who didn't have rigs that were quite so comfortable because they were complaining the rest of the night. ~La La Gang Member #2~
  14. hey Katie, it's Chrissy from Michigan, I just recently went through the downsizing process myself and another thing to keep in mind is that a 120 square foot canopy loaded at 1.1 reacts at a higher performance level than say a 190 sq foot canopy loaded at 1.1. Since we are lighter than the typical guy, they don't usually take that into consideration when giving advice about canopy size. Sporto and friends are invading ASC in a couple of weeks, hopefully I will get down there at some point to get some coaching. ~La La Gang Member #2~
  15. Well, I can sit there and look pretty. But I don't know about the whole packing thing, I might break a nail. ~La La Gang Member #2~
  16. I did a balloon jump at Rantoul last year and it was one of the most freakin coolest jumps I have ever made. I wanted to prepare for bridge day to see what a jump in no air felt like. I just climbed over the basket to exit, turned so I was facing back into the basket to look at my friend and just let go. It was the most amazing feeling to feel yourself start to accelerate and hear the wind rushing past your ears. I was afraid I was going to have trouble staying stable in the still air, but that wasn't a problem, just leave in a relaxed boxman position, I think we went to like 4500. My canopy opened normal, there was only 2 of us jumping at once so there was no problem with separation, we left from opposite sides. I highly recommend doing one, it really put the 'fear' back in skydiving for me, it made me feel like it was my first jump all over again, it gave me that first jump high. I definitley reccomend it if you are ever considering doing any BASE jumping. Also, it will be the quietest ride to altitude that you will ever get. I did mine at sunrise, and it was absolutely beautiful. If you get the chance, do it! ~La La Gang Member #2~
  17. Congrats on your jump. Have you heard what is going on this weekend? State record, filmfest and toga party. So be sure to bring your toga! ~La La Gang Member #2~
  18. Sounds pretty cool...I wonder who the demo team is.. ~La La Gang Member #2~
  19. Most likely what they are concerned about is having to deal with things at such a high rate of speed that is involved with freeflying. Belly flying is a great way to learn essential skills at lower speeds. You are definately lucky that you have a coach on practically every jump, this will definately help your learning curve. Whatever you choose to do though, have fun and be safe. ~La La Gang Member #2~

  21. This was my first time out there and wow what a weekend it was. We too experienced nothing but love from the locals. One night, we went to eat at Outback at 9pm, well, turns out they closed at 9pm, not only did they let in our group of 4, but somehow our table of 4 turned into about 25, if not more. Never heard one complaint from the restaurant. Anyways, it was a great trip, I found this bridge to be a great place to learn about BASE, I came there with only 1 BASE jump and walked away with 10 more, and learned a lot, though I know what I did learn is only the tip of the iceberg. ~La La Gang Member #2~
  22. I'm bummed I didn't get a chance to meet you guys. I think that was the day my 4-way team was doing training. ~La La Gang Member #2~
  23. sorry, I didn't mean it that way, and I personally don't think of it in a derogaroty mannor. Allow me to rephrase. We have a great group of people who enjoy doing both Formation Skydiving and freeflying.
  24. I am glad you enjoyed our DZ, though I wish you could have been there under better circumstances. Your birdman suits were awesome, did you have the silver one? And I had no idea there was something found in the back of the plane....ew.ew. Chrissy ~La La Gang Member #2~
  25. yes we did. And we are NOT complaining at how fast we get to altitude! What an awesome plane. Come on over and play with us. We have a great group of flat flyers and freeflyers, I tend to spend time on both 'sides'. So come on out and lets jump! ~La La Gang Member #2~
