I jump in Michigan. I visited Cape Town a few years ago because my Aunt won a trip off the internet. It was to see off these 2 women who were skiiing across anartica. ~La La Gang Member #2~

Hey there, I have been to Capetown, are you near there? ~La La Gang Member #2~

I'm with Flyangel2 on this one ... from what you've posted, you were going more than 20 mph over the speed limit... what part of that isn't speeding? I didn't post my question for a debate, I posted it for information. I am not going to sit here and argue with every single person who happens to have an opinion. ~La La Gang Member #2~

I doubt he can do anything at this point, the ticket is written and it was by a State Trooper. I don't know what kind of ties he has with the State police ~La La Gang Member #2~

I even tried that route. I told him I was out at the DZ making a New Years Day jump, usually that sparks some questions and makes people more human. But nooo...this guy really did not care. ~La La Gang Member #2~

Lots of information. I'll PM you with more. Any information you can provide is greatly appreciated. You have been very helpful!!! Thank you!!! ~La La Gang Member #2~

Luck was running in your favor that day!! ~La La Gang Member #2~

Sorry, but IMO, if you do the crime, you gotta do the time. There is no excuse for speeding. Speed kills. Please pay attention. Honestly, I don't appreciate your comment. There are many other factors of why I want to contest the ticket and I don't have the time to go into detail. I am not some type of reckless speedster (killer) who thinks that the law does not apply to me and I don't appreciate that accusation. ~La La Gang Member #2~

Yes, that is what I have heard anyways. I would expect him to show up ~La La Gang Member #2~

So on my way home yesterday from my New Years Day jump (yeah!!). A state police officer had the audacity to ruin my day and give me a speeding ticket . The ticket was written for the actual amount I was going over (78mph in a 55....oops). I also had not changed my address yet with the Sec. of State because I had recently moved and he gave me a warning for that. That was his way of 'giving me a break'. I am planning on contesting the ticket, anybody have any suggestions on how I can get the charges lowered? ~La La Gang Member #2~

Yep. Now ya gotta come on out to Elsinore for this year's Chicks Rock Boogie! Lotsa 4way and R-Dub at 'Snore. Actually me and a few girls were talking about doing that. Hopefully we actually do it and it is not something that we just talk about. Of course all of my vacations center around skydiving. So I know that I am going to WFFC, Richmond and the Bridge. i hope I can fit in one more vacation!!!! ~La La Gang Member #2~ -

Allow me to explain the name a little too. The Anti-Pink is the name of our ALL female 4-way team. We got really annoyed at the fact that there is soo much PINK in skydiving. I am the worst with a solid hot pink canopy and pink and turqoise trimmed rig. My only excuse, I needed to buy gear, and it was CHEAP. Now I know why. Our team took first place in the Rookie class in Michigan last season. Women ROCK! ~La La Gang Member #2~ -
Though I am no expert. I have heard they should not be a dark color because if you do any night jumps, your canopy really tends to blend in with the sky. You might want something bright so you can at least see what is above your head. Of course this would make you more obvious to the local law enforcement officers... ~La La Gang Member #2~

Skydiver health insurance
AntiPinkChrissy replied to Jessica's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I have worked in HR for about 2 years, and 1 of it being in Benefits. If you are looking for an individual plan, you are most likely looking to pay a lot of money for mininmal coverage. COBRA is very expensive, and depending on what type of insurance your company has and where it is located you could be looking at $350+ a month. My last plan specifically excluded hazardous activities. Your health plan should be able to provide to you a Summary Plan Description (SPD) which will tell what exactly is covered and what is excluded from the plan. If you do get an individual health plan, be SURE to find out exactly what it covers. It doesn't matter if you don't read the small print and claim ignorance, the insurance company will always win ~La La Gang Member #2~ -
That was my first big purchase. I bought a helmet (I couldn't stand wearing the DZ's protec's), altimeter, goggles and gloves. Then I bought my wonderful jumpsuit and bought my rig last. Used rig. I have about 300 jumps and am about to buy a brand new system. Yeah!!! ~La La Gang Member #2~

I went through the S/L program. Which I think is a great way to learn. You find out right from the beginning that the only person who is going to save you is yourself. Though as I look back at the gear I use to jump....I just shudder. ~La La Gang Member #2~

Hi there, long time listener first time poster. Just wanted to say hello, and post something so I can get rid of this newbie status. I jump in Michigan and have around 300 jumps. ~La La Gang Member #2~
