    And not having a rating does not make someone with 500,1000 or 2000 jumps unsafe to jump with a new person. The coach rating was invented to funnel more money to the DZs and staff.

    Can't say I agree with everything you said but I would say don't say you want to be a dropezone bum and then steal from other peoples hard work to make ends meet. As far as being a dz bum goes that is fine with me if that is what someone wants but don't bitch,whine and cry when you're broke in the winter or when the weather is bad and don't pitch a bitch when new people want to get ratings and work at the dz where you are.In 9 yrs of jumping I have seen almost no good come from someone wanting to "make a living" skydiving.

    That's even funnier...maybe your memory for this little tidbit of info is better than most. I did notice that you didn't know the answer...you will have to look it up...just like most of us. Would you at least agree that if his profile is correct he should not be giving advice on landing on the internet? Side note to all: Here we go with jump numbers again. How arrogant. You do realize, I hope, that jump numbers do not always directly relate to knowledge, eh? I'll show you one knowledgable low jump number guy and let you show me 50 high jump number idiots...you can do that with your eyes closed and one hand tied behind your back.

    My first thought would be why would you want to speed up the openings but to each his own. I have probably 800 or so jumps on a Spectre 170. What Popsjumper told you is about right. I don't think you will get it to open much faster then 600 ft without changing out the slider for a smaller one and again comes the question of why. Opening shock puts alot of wear and tear on not only your gear but also your body. Better to spread that wear and tear over the years. If you are going to keep skydiving you are going to need it.
