My 2 cts is that if I have a couple of weeks without jumping or more, my first jump is a hop & pop. Just to practice by myself without much traffic. When I did my first hop n pop was scared as pretty much anyone else, but since I do more hop n pops than average (at least one or 2 in a regular jumping day), it helps me with refreshing my canopy and getting a feel for the DZ that very day. (I do check winds, recheck the DZ map for outs and get a briefing on winds, looking at a map). I started decreasing the alti on these jumps, and it has helped. First one at 5k, and then I figure that I had plenty of time to recover, or do loops or whatever. My exit is usually diving out backwards, front etc. and even do a loop, just to simulate the event of an actual emergency exit. There is no issue or problem doing a 2,000ft hop n pop, it gives you skills that one day will probably safe your life. What really surprises me, is that not many skydivers will do a hop n pop that low. Is there a reason? No Kallend, to me there is a huge difference between someone (Israel) who has proven the will to try to find peace, than other one (Saddam) willing to wage a mother of all wars against everything that is known to us, and used Chemical and biological weapons against to no other than his own country men, that send me a signal that is is loud and clear. Then, he takes over Kuwait, yes I know US and many others helped him to fight Iran, yet he is warned, get out of there or you will be forced....(I'm just trying to refresh your memory here. Then the international UN coalition chips in, and he is out of there in less than 100 hours of conflict, despite he swore he would fight until the end.... He surrendered, and so this his people, to the promise that the coalition would not invade Iraq and depose him, for exchange of the total destruction of WMD's which he had, the no Fly Zone, and later the food for oil program, just to make sure for he still insisted in building the supergun from many parts of the world, and other technologies, and blatant disrespect to the no fly zones, while shooting at planes enforcing this resolution. He was just like Hitler and Stalin, and the lessons there were hard and very much abrupt. It is a lot different if we don;t stand. Yes We should have forced the issue in Rwanda, and other places, but we there are also places like vietnam were the lesson learned was a great one, just don't forget what we tried in Somalia, and did in Bosnia and Kosovo, it is insulting for those who have paid selfleshly and dearly to support these causes and seek a better world, with a chance of democracy and freedom, when we actually in fact did not need to do. Well Kallend, you may look it like that, but the UN went to war with IRAQ. They surrended unconditionally if they accepted certain conditions for the hostilities that took place. Israel has not been in the same situation, and they are constantly attacked ever since their indepence 50+ years ago. Not really, I think that the issue with Iraq was never a connection with Al-qaeda, but the possibility of these two joining forces, particulary with the issue of having the possibility of black market arms sales to terrorist who we know what intentions they have. I percieve it is not only Iraq, but also Iran, Syria, N. Korea, as you are aware Iran do not want to stop producing rich uranium, so it should be preferable to assume that this represents a will towards nuclear weapons, and the very much so possibility of their aid to terrorist organizations of their choice. Although their young population is seeking freedoms. It is all F(*& up... Justin, I try to understand your point of view and respect it. I also get some referrals from many news agencies for I can read at least in 4 languages. Yet ever place have their points of views, and pretty much set. They are not honest to themselves, and the problem is that at least we have the luxury of thought, and the capability of research, but as an example, in Egpyt, Indonesia, where there is muslim majority, the false news have been presented as facts, add ignorance to the equation and strong defensive actions from US and you have hatred towards US. In fact is so deviant that newspapers there see the acts of 9/11 as a plot by Israel to falsely accuse them. Yet the way I see it is few radicals poisoning the minds of everyone at very young age to serve their bigotry and self serving purposes. It is not only them, but they at my eyes are (these radicals) willing and wanting to destroy any other religion and way of living from the face of this planet at any cost. Justin, To me what really matters is the easy manner upon which anyone can slant someone who is not liberal, be found guilty, without proof. It is a matter of even after knowing and showing the facts, for instance Saddam was someone who blatantly disregarded UN resolutions, many times in 12 years, yet when Bush told them that enough was enough it is Bush the bad person..... Where is the common sense to act as you preach? This is something that has to do with presumption of life experience, rather than psychological maturity. Since no one logs their life (at least the vast majority), it is easier and safe somewhat, for anyone with a drivers license, to be catalogued as an adult by the age. It is right there on your ID. No need for phsycological eval just the base assumption of experience. They are still kids, but done with biological growth for the most part. Since they are allowed to drive since age 16, 2 years is not bad for the time they give them to become experienced..... Cheating is something no one is immune to. We all have either done it, or been victims on it, not talking only about SO cheating only.... In relationships, what we are driven to forget is the fact of commitment, those who defend cheating for whatever reason lack the courage to be honest to themselves, and not realize the self gratitude and egotistical behaviour. This is one of the reasons divorces are so high, for at the first uncomfortable sign they are already willing to bail out. Trust is the base on any relationship, without it then there is no reason to have a relationship. If you don't believe someone, ask. If you catch them lying, they will break this bond and it is hard to recover, however worthy to try if you care about them. If you know that this person is faulty from the beginning, IE drug user, alcoholic, violent, etc, and your intention was to change this person from the begining, you would be in as much fault and should fess up to the task you take responsibility. It is a lot easier said than done but it is not impossible. It makes life a lot easier, and even easier to weed those who are probably there for the wrong reasons. There is no need for anyone to proof anything when they are honest. Seek and accept someone because you feel good about them, and you care about them, but if you are single unattached and have a casual date don't be to harsh on yourself... Blue skies...........
