Hmmmm Yea I could try that but it might be a little too long, I also wear a stomach pouch that I hold my wind meter and other shit in. I can try that though. What is a platypus? Coco
-
By tube you mean the pouch? Just drain the nozzle and drinking tube but not the pouch right? My idea was to not only have more water and easier access for A climbs but also if I do multiple jumps in a night I won't run out of water. Or drain the pouch too and just keep extra water on the ground if I'm doing multiple jumps in a night? Coco

Does anyone have any experience jumping with a Camelbak? I just bought one for running and also with the idea that I might be able to wear it on a BASE jump. Its pretty compact, 70 oz, and fits pretty well in the middle of my back with my rig on. The straps are also very thin so they are comfortable under my shoulder straps. I’m curious if anyone can think of any problems that could arise from wear one. I can’t really think of any… As long as its tight, the tube for drinking is stowed safely, and your rig is on tighter than usual to prevent any movement of the CB or your rig it should be fine. Anyone got any input? Thanks Coco

FYI, I am planning on replying to all three of the last postings. I'm in the Medical part of the Fire Academy right now and there is a shit load of studying so I can't adequately/fully reply at the moment. I'll post on Friday evening. Just wanted to put that up here so you didn't think I ran away with my tail between my legs! L8er Coco Edit: Spelling

I think the message is very simple and I disagree with you. You have no control over what happens in your life from day to day regarding whether you will live or die. Most people think they do….but truly don’t. Death is only a step away even if you’re not jumping off of buildings and cliffs. The point is, life is full of danger and potential risk to be killed or seriously injured. Spend a few days in a hospital ER and you’ll see how many terrible things happen to people that were doing common every day tasks that people do not see as particularly dangerous, or even slightly as dangerous as BASE. There are many things in life, like BASE, that could enrich a person’s soul beyond a point thought possible. Just because its dangerous and you don’t partake in the activity doesn’t mean you are more likely to live longer than the person that does. If there is something you want to do, do it! Do it as safely as you possibly can but do it! Don’t live in fear. Make your life meaningful. Every time I climb up on that rail or walk up to the exit point, there is always a thought in the back of my mind, “Well I sure hope that I’m gonna walk away from this one.” I know that each jump it could be my last. But at that moment when I step off, I know that it enriches my life and I would be dead inside if I didn’t do what drives me. Do I want to die? Heck no, there are a shit load of places I’d like to jump before I go. But if I did die would I be happy with how I spent the time I was given. Yes, because I know that I did something that made me happy and didn’t sit in my house wishing I had the balls to not live my life in fear. You never know if today will be your last day. Something as simple as choking on a piece of candy and not having anyone around to help you could end it. L8er Coco

I think Jeb made a very good statement: “The reality is that no matter what you do in this life, it’s coming to an end. Once you accept that there’s nothing you can do about your own mortality. Then your now free. You have no control. So stop pretending you do. And just get on with living your life and stop living in fear.” When I’m at the exit point, I know very well that I could die or be seriously injured. I also know that I could get killed on the way to work tomorrow morning by some ass hole who doesn’t know how to drive. The fact is that BASE jumping gives my life meaning. Without it, there is really no point. When I’m at the exit point or in freefall I am the happiest I could ever be. Yes, this activity could end my life, but it’s worth it. I’d rather live 22 years and get however many BASE jumps than live 100 years and never jump again. Coco

Sweet! Well I hope the city approves it. I don't see why they wouldn't. It would be a huge money maker in our area. Coco

I'm not sure its SkyVenture.... Coco
-
Oh and I forgot. Has anyone ever been apart of something like this before. Is there anything the public or other skydivers can do to help? Coco
-
Hey Everybody, A buddy of mine Dennis Clark it working on getting a Wind Tunnel built here in Virginia Beach, VA. He is a structural engineer and skydiver and last I heard he had the investors he needed to get the ball rolling but just needed city approval after it gets voted on by the Resort Advisory Commission. Attached is an article about the plans I saw the other day in the paper. L8er Coco

I agree, Looks great. Can't wait to see the video! Coco

Thats pretty sweet! Coco

Hey Bro! Well I can tell you right now you better put on your shit catching gloves because your definitely gonna be catching some shit with this post. If you wanna start BASE at 75 skydives with someone who has 150 BASE, go for it. I’d say you’re more likely to get yourself killed but it’s your life. If you wanna be smart. Wait until you have some solid skydiving experience and take a FJC or go to Bridge Day. Coco P.S. 75 jumps over a year and a half?? That’s not very current either. You don’t have a very strong case there buddy!

Not this summer but next. I'm way to busy with the Fire Academy to be able to go this year. I'm hoping to be at Potato Bridge for the whole weekend during Memorial Day and if I get that off, there is no way I'll be able to go over seas for a week . I've got EMT class till May, 4 months on the box and then 4 months of fire training. So I'll be pretty busy. I talked to Josh and he thinks it will probably be next year. That way more of our crew can go but we are gonna start planning now so we don't have any problems. Coco
-
Sweet!!!!!! Dude I'm so there! That is if you can wait till I'm out of the academy. Next summer? Coco
