I would like to first state that a) I too hate the ignorance of some people and the fact that they think that the "n" word is acceptable in society and b) I am NOT in anyway sticking up for skyhawk as a person...but I would like to add this... Other countries outside of the US do not completely understand or realise the state of the US "conscious" in regards to African American or the Civil Rights Commission. Having just come New Zealand, I verify that they ONLY see what is brought to them...in the form of our television programs and the likes of music videos and movies. And unfortunately...that is ALL they know. So, using the term "wiggas" is what would have been heard from a song, movie, or published in a magazine. While I do not agree with his/her crass use of lingo, I understand why he said it. He would have just thought it was a common slang term and wanted to know if anyone in here considered themselves one of them. But keep in mind folks...up until the early '70's in Australia, it was LEGAL to hunt down Aborigines and kill them if you suspected them of stealing/killing your livestock. and this had nothing to do with the courts...you could just open fire and then tell the story later. African Americans have suffered tremendously at the hands of racism and segregation, but this is minor compared to the ONGOING racism and denial of Civil liberties that Aborigines continue to suffer from. well, what if the lesbian wedding had a COMPLETELY open bar and you don't have anywhere to drive?? Well, all....I put 'em on and they were great!! My first opening was *really* slow...but I later found out that it was because I had doubled stowed the stoe...and it broke. So, after replacing that one and another one (that broke while trying to put on the second pack) I just wrapped them tighter around the D-bag and single stowed them. ALL of my openings from then on were WONDERFUL!!!! I had been having some hard openings with the bands, and while I agree with Cacophony (I'm cheap too!), these are great. I don't know if I would recommend them, but they are good for me. We'll see as they break if I put on bands and what kind of openings I get. Thanks all for the advice though. billvon is right, as said before. I was doing security at a stadium in NZ when the RAF Parachute team was do land on the grass.... well...only on jumper made it to the stadium due to the winds....and he landed on the roof and slipped off onto the ledge of the office about 12' feet down from his point of contact (had that not been there...he would have *based* a 60' ledge - prolly to either his demise, or serious injury)...two others landed uneventfully on the sidewalk on the stree near the stadium and one landed in the back yard to a house on the edge of the stadium's side streets....falling through a (of all things to watch out for!!) a CLOTHESLINE and breaking his leg seriously!! So, if you have perfect conditions (and we all have been around long enough to know those can't be determined prior to jumping...only on final) you can pull it off...but as even the military show time and time again...even the experienced can encounter problems and/or death. Wait until you are a *very experienced* jumper....be ground crew for a couple of demos into stadiums...listen, learn...then one day you might get invited on one and get a PRO rating!! Had a vm message from someone asking me to make copies for them and have them couriered to their residence. Did that by 8:50. Answered a phone call at 9:30 from that individual asking me if it had been done. 12:30 ate lunch at my desk and read latest Skydiving. 2:00 and all I can say about my day is that I have divided my time evenly between reading posts and screwing around on the internet. All this...and the glory of one of the Big 5 names on my resume. What a job!!! What a total WASTE of my life and time!!! Oh well...it's free money in the end! P.S. I predict that 4 o'clock will roll around and I will have done little else since this email....so damn!! what an exhausting day!!! Might have to go home and take a load off these tired feet!!!!
