I'm with you Canuck....I picked a Ducks/Devils final since the first round...(actually, first pick was Toronto/Ducks, but the day they got eliminated, I went with NJ)...and I have always said the DUCKS take the cup home. Taking into consideration they haven't played in 11 days...they are a little off their game, as evident in Game 1 last night, but have faith in Jiggy.... That man is a ==WALL== in front of the net...and he will find his groove and shut the Devils DOWN!! I called it in 5, but I could NJ scaping another out...possibly the next game...and the Ducks turn it on in ANAHEIM! Love the SHARKS, but GO DUCKS!!! (3 years ago I was pulling for the Devils...so, I reserve the right to still celebrate at the end of it all if the cup resides on the East Coast!!!) I like knowing I have the email account there to use, but have only used it once in 3 years. I use the PM's more.... HH, do what you gotta do man. Shame that someone has decided to utilise your server space for his/her deceptive ways....so make him/her go away and all will be right with the world again! Well, I think there is a gray area there though... I pied a buddy on his 1000th before I had been pied (had something like 98 jumps) and then the following day.....I got pied like a M-Fer!!!! So, I certainly earned my right for pie-ing early, but it still counted!! I don't think you're allowed (or should be allowed) to pie if you aren't going to hit your mark within 24 hours though. To make it fair, but to also provide ammunition for recourse!!! Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic

Pyke is safe at home after a long weekend at Raeford and he can't imagine the great time he had!!! Arrived late Friday night...got set up and slept....poorly. Too tired from the drive I guess. Saturday morning, the first person I run into is SkymonkeyOne...and it was all over from there!! A decent day jumping, but we got our fair share of bad weather this weekend so it was all good when it was. Saturday night....(as SM1 said himself, "it was game on!") Between the stump liquor and the late night.....it was a GREAT NIGHT!! Everybody, & I mean EVERYBODY at Raeford ROCKS! All great people with great stories to tell! Sunday I felt like I had been on the under side of a tire while it went through a mud puddle...if anything happened...it happened SLOWLY!!! My one big accomplishment of the day was jump #200...and thanks to Tony T's organization..it was a fun 10-12 way (not sure since it didn't get completed!!) Got my D, YEAH! Once again the weather packed in, but we decided to have a barbeque anyway. That was going great until the DELUGE!!!! Raefordite does not lie...it was A LOT OF WATER!!! Once it ended (around 11-12a), SOne & Kiwi hit the mud puddles in a blacked out Blazer for more fun! got one jump up on Monday before the weather packed it in, but it was a dandy of a jump and aside from going against traffic on final (Sorry Tony T...won't happen again!), I had one of my best swoops to date!! Even though the jumping was sporadic...Pyke couldn't have asked for a better weekend. They are not sucking at Raeford....and Kiwi will be back (check it!)!! Kiwi signing OFF....... FOR NOW!!!!!! (under pressure)!!!! Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic

Cool as, Gimp!!! Hey, and no cut-aways this weekend either!!! [fingers crossed] See you when I see you, but it won't be until late tonight/early tomorrow....still at work right now - not leaving until this evening. Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic

Excellent....expect to see Pyke and a friend there about one o'clock - if all goes well - and we'll definately be there for some of the first loads on Saturday..... Here's hoping I end the weekend with a nick!!! Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic

that's right y'all.... the great Kiwi lesbian will be in NC for the long weekend...and he's coming armed (for a good time)!! Anyone know how long it takes to get from ATL to the dz?? I have heard as much as 6 and as little as 3 hours...but I'd like to know so I can plan on how long I have to stay up and on the road this evening. If you've made the drive recently -any pointers on where to stop...and what to see along the way would help too! Thanks and SkymonkeyOne....you'd better be ready to throw down......some BEERS!! thanks, I didn't know I was missed!!! I appreciate this nacmacfeegle! first it was my job situation, then it was femur situation, then it was my unemployed situation...and finally, we're back to my job situation. work is going well and I am on top of the game - so I lurk more often now. and suz, I hear you. and please don't think I was picking on you. Wasn't like that at all! (p.s. cute pic...look like angel eyes to me!!) Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic

I disagree with you Suz...I would re-affirm how excited they felt to do their Tandem and urge them to take it up. Relay all the things you love about it to them...and get them back out of another. We are all stewards of the sport, but I don't believe we should be so "in to it" that we can even appreciate those who may have sampled a bite, but never ordered the whole entree. After all, many of us started that same way! Anyway, I can relate to your feelings though...you get tired of listening to people who have done one tandem and then consider themselves skydivers. A girl I used to work with even had stickers on her car (and her boyfriends!) after only one tandem. My only thought, "Try Hards!" The MATRIX has me though - and I am proud of it!!! p.s. I'm surrounded by whuffo's at work, but I have gone so far as to educate them on the lingo so I can talk freely about it and not get asked the 'boring' stuff. Now if only I could get them to come out!!! Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic

GQ...Whazzzzzup!! I have just gone through this whole ordeal...and I finally settled on a Vector 3 Micron. I know I could have gone with the trusted Javelin, but waiting 6 MONTHS for a rig is out of the question. I finally narrowed it down to Mirage and Vector - and honestly, Vectors were much more comfortable - better riser protection, better pin protection, lots of options, and very rigger friendly. The reserve deployment on my old rig is by far the best on the market (Racer), but none of the other reserve deployments will do you any harm. So I feel you can trust in that. So far, customer service has been excellent. RW has been a pleasure to work with...and having not experienced any problems yet - I can't say what they'll be like. I'd gladly compare notes with you anytime you're up at the dz again.... (oh yeah, I tried emailing your friend and haven't heard back from him - could you drop him a line and let him know I'm interested in doing business with him...I can place multiple orders as well - I have friends out of country interested!!) I was the first guy my ex was with (in NZ) who had been cut...and after nearly 7 years with me, she confesses she couldn't take it the other way. She finds it nearly repulsive to look at. Her sister, on the other hand, has never had someone who was cut...and was always curious and inquisitive about it, but couldn't imagine what she'd do with someone who was. I think in the end, it all depends on the person...and how you feel about them. If a woman loves everything about you, but you have a piece of extra skin on your knob....hell, there could be worse things...you could not be cut, but give her an STD! Someone previously made the point about hygiene...and I concur - it is so easy to do a once over with the soap and be done with it! Yup, count me in on the 'glad to be snipped' group! What really cracks me up are the stories of guys who feel "robbed" or "mutilated" in some way...and go about growing their foreskin back. I mean REALLY...they claim they can remember back to when it was done...and how it has adversely affected their lives!! No sir, I think all the video games and D&D, Everquest, and Majik is what ruined your life!!!!! GET A LIFE....TAKE UP SKYDIVING!!!! Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Here's how they busted him.....Tommy runs from the cops...over the Cheech's house.... [knocks on door] "Hello...?" "Dude, open the door...it's Tommy, man...I think the Feds are coming..." "Tommy...? Tommy's not here" "C'mon on man, open the door....it's Tommy" "Tommy....Tommy's not here" "I'm Tommy...it's me, man...now open the door - I think the Feds are on to us!" "Tommy's not here, man" and then the Feds turned the corner and nabbed him still trying to get Cheech to open the door!! Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Tell that punk ass beotch to get his ass back in the south!! There are some friends that would love to see him! Make him drink a beer for me tonight (not too difficult)...and I'll toast to his lame ass when I am drinkin' too!!! I hope you both are well and I hope to see you soon! I am torn between Raesford, NC and somewhere in FL.... Where are you all going? Anyone want to help organize the Memorial Day 'Impromptu' boogie?? Yesterday was my birthday.....yup, the twilight of my 20's has begun....and I got phone calls and well-wishes from lots of people..... EXCEPT my flatmate....!!! And, it isn't like he didn't know - he cancelled plans to hang out tonight and celebrate. If you lived with only one other person (not in a relationship) and they forgot to even mention your birthday...would you find it odd?? Just fishing for thoughts on how I should react... I am SO EXCITED!! I placed my order for my new container today...Vector 3 Micron...and all I can think about is "how long do I have to wait?"!!! I can't wait to see what it is going to look like as a final product - took me nearly 2 weeks to get my colors right....anyone else go through this while designing their new rig?? I even consulted the graphics group in my firm - for color placement. Yup - I'm a geek!!! I do have one question though....I am debating between riser housings or not....anyone know much about them? Are they worth it? How likely is it for you to get a line twist right down to the risers? I have had some severe line twists before, but never right down to the risers....I don't fly anything too sporty - so I am not sure how to approach. It's not the $$ I'm worried about either - so that isn't an issue. Any suggestions? I'll post pics when she arrives..... Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Which container do you like more & Y? Vector or Mirage?
pyke replied to pyke's topic in Gear and Rigging
I am considering purchasing a container very soon and I have been getting information about these two rigs that puts them almost dead even in my mind.... I am just looking for other opinions out there from owners...and you can be positive or negative...doesn't matter. All entries will be given due consideration! Taught myself while fruit picking at an orchard one summer in New Zealand....oddly enough - unripe nectarines make a perfect juggling tool - and if you drop them - just pick up another of the 000s laying around!!! Definately a skill that takes practice, but it is like riding a bike once you get it....haven't done it for a while, but just grabbed some office supplies and away I went!! Good fun - don't know about the 'hours' thing though, Quade!! Got more patience than me!! Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic

I second the nomination for spectre230.... it takes a "character" to have their girlfriend post her bare BOOBIES on here...make a huge deal about finding out who's they are - then get all shi^^y when we start talking about them (the BOOBIES!)afterwards and LEAVE...slinging verbal abuse about the very nature of the threads they fed into. All I could say at the time was precisely..."What a character!" Other than that, I collectively nominate ALL the moderators who have stepped up to the plate to assist with the management of the ever-growing threads, and who provide such valuable insight, colour commentary, and memories. Without them - we would all be just a couple of squabbling children in a vitual sandbox.... and Spectre would have taken his shovel and bucket and gone home anyway!!! Ok all you Whiskey Drinkers i have a question for you.
pyke replied to Viking's topic in The Bonfire
NO! it isn't!! Most true whisky drinkers will tell you that 'scotch' is anything blended with traditional Scottish whisky...so, if you look on any bottle of Johnnie Walker (regardless of colour) you'll note the word Scotch....and reading further it will state something to the effect of "a blend of the finest Scottish whisky". I say Most cause there are always the leftists who are steadfast in their mis-information. Whisky is whisky - and nacmac is right - truly Scottish. Although, I wasn't aware the adding the "e" meant everything else...I thought it was just where you were in the world. Everything else, has ETOH envy!!! Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic -
and yet.....somehow even a thousand jumps seems small in comparison to the magnitude of this ONE. Man, I bet he'd have a few stories to tell of friends "going in"...... flashes of the first hour of Saving Private Ryan are now going through my head.
