Here it is...!! As if you already didn't intrique me enough, fozchek... you have to go and mess with mind like this!! figured I would bump this back up, but I guess I've run into the "don't ask, don't tell" side of the secret sorority/fraternity lifestyle!! According to the Red Book of Westmarch, In Middle-earth, "Pyke" was a Ring-wearing Númenorean Elven Name Possibilities: The root name suitable for feminine and masculine is: Dínhuinë Another masculine version is: Dínhuinëion More feminine versions are: Dínhuinëiel Dínhuinëien Dínhuinëwen Hobbit lad: Bingo Bolger from Whitfurrows Hobbit lass: Gilly Bolger from Whitfurrows Dwarven Name: Fáin Oakenarrow This name is for both genders. Orkish Name: Púshkû the Despot This name is for both genders. I thought it was cool, right up until the Orkish name...now I sound like a puffter! Okay - I got into this discussion with an "out" there bi/lesbian the other day, and it raised my curiousity about the "rest" of the world, so I thought I'd ask you all for your perspectives. Are sororities (& fraternaties too, for the men who lurk) nothing more than a greek institution for sexual experimentation in a safe, welcoming environment at a key stage in life?? My friend said that she "worked her way through her sorority" during college, and that it was never discussed in open, yet - everyone she did it with approached her about it. (she referred to them as "LUGS" and "BUGS" - Lesbian Until Grad'n, and Bi Until Grad'n) And, she didn't go to a liberal, big city university...she went to a well-known, conservative, state (still big though) univerisity. My sister is "out" and her partner has confided many times that she specifically chose an all-women's university for the increased possibilities. Even going so far as to say that at one stage she lived on a floor of all gays and they had an orgy one night in the common room!!! Is this as common as they make it out to sound?? There wasn't a greek life where I went to school, but my time spent at a US university has brought further wonder into this "phenomenon". I could totally buy it if it were the case - knowing who I've known in greek org's. Your thoughts....??? Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic

Ummm....YUP!!! Saw the preview in the theatre while seeing LC2:COL and nearly flipped out. How did H'wood know precisely the movie I been waiting for, but didn't know it?? Kate Beckinsale is AWESOME!! Although - until I saw this preview...she wasn't much of a sex symbol for me. "Brokedown Palace" and "Shooting Fish" didn't necessarily cast up to that image, but this one is certainly taking her over the top!!

OK, then I wanna be FC#2! FC #3 ! I've got my X-rays at my desk, and the dz, but I've given my details here (e.g. date, etc!) Time was approx. 5:30 pm. Upper-mid femur Fx 4 places, with a butterfly piece!! Xrays tell such a wicked story!! Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic

Well, turns out it's one very shit hot FF'er who's well-known in the SE. GA & FL area. (purposely not giving up his name - in case he doesn't want it known) All I can say is, man - I wish it could have been my current rig!! Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. girl....now you know why I love you!!!

I would love to oblige, but as I don't have a scanner...nor the mag with me at work (don't think they'd appreciate that)... You'll have to invest! Anyway - I'm still curious - so I'm sure someone's been braggin' that their rig was put on a Playmate... and I think he should fess up!! Nothing wrong with a little naked PB boobie on your rig! Ought to be proud of that one, eh? Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic

ooh, ooooh, me...ME - pick ME!! Yup, joined that *club* on 12/9/2001. First FF (serves me right...it is the bloody dark side!) - nailed the sit - held it for the whole dive...went low - turned and tracked after break off (stupidly - only other person was miles off!). Realized how low I was, pulled and wasn't going to make it back. Landed off in - what I thought was a big enough field - and had to turn just before final. Didn't get the angle of my final right and had to turn a little too much for my final. Came in hot under a new elliptical that I had barely 30 jumps on... Was relaxed all the way through impact (probably a good thing)! Heard the "pop" and thought it was my ribs initially. Looked down to see one leg normal, and one leg the size of, well, two! Got the rod, and two pins. The one pin that was supposed to be removed broke during the initial healing stages and so only 1/2 of it came out. I guess I'm going to have the rod forever, but it's also the reason I have one leg approx. 1 1/2" longer than that other. (they say anything below 2" is standard....WHATEVER!! it wasn't that long before - what makes you think it "should" be that long now??) Hardest part of rehab was regaining mobility to it. You wouldn't think it would atrophe so quickly, but it does!! All I can say is keep stretching...even when you don't want to!! And trust me - you won't! Was out of the sport 5 months 19 days...and then only did 10 over the next 9-10 months after that. Now, I'm back with a vengence!! Hang in there Lew - you'll skate through and wonder why the hell it even bothered you in the first place! {{{{HUGS}}}}} Lew...you're DEFINATELY not alone! What was your most embarrassing High School/College moment?
pyke replied to MochaSkyChick's topic in The Bonfire
In H.S. I thought it would be romantic to arrange to sing 'happy birthday' to my "sweetie" at the time. Well, something wasn't working right in my head at the time, 'cause I chose her choir class to sing to her in. Never having had a voice lesson in my life - and not used to singing with accompaniment (teacher played "HB" on the piano)...I struck into it off key, and out of time!!! Needless to say my thoughtful gesture caused her immeasurable grief and embarrassment...which a short time later ended her interest in me. Understandable!! Gives me chills when I think back on it. And, I still can't sing!!! Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic -
This month's Parachutist has an article (actually a couple) about Raeford... In the one about 4th of July weekend, it states that I organized a dz.com hybrid jump [true]. It goes on further to state that I "assessed the skill levels and assigned people accordingly" [false]. I recognized my own limitations and asked that task be done by another. It fell on our very own JumpnKramer (with suggestions from TonyT). So, sorry for not getting your name in print, Kramer - other than as a participant - but I believe in credit where credit is due!! Peace! Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic

And, did he get to be on-site during the photo shoot?? (if you're not sure what I'm talking about...open this month's new PB...Mackenzie Closen is wearing a new Mirage (sort of!) with "Tom" on the ring cover....possibly a Chi-town jumper??) Man, I'd never wash that rig again!! Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic

Hola padre Rodriguez!! Well, mine too is a variation of my dz.com sign on, but with added flair to it!! Was at Raeford with "papa" PFuego and knew he was a RB...so I asked him if my next jump could be my "initiation jump". We flocked with Lou Diamond, kevin922, and PZ and had a blast. We joked about a possible name, and almost simultaneously came up with Pico de Gallo (something about special sauce...you had to be there at the moment!!) Funniest part of this story - I was informed that I had to do a body shot if I was to be a RB. So, I talked our very own SunnyDee123 into being my victim and did a very sexy body shot off her (see Raeford pics). Just as I'm about to finish my shot - "mama" Selonda comes blazing into the bar and asks if we're in the middle of an initiation. "Oh no...if you're going to do it - do it right!!" She disappeared and returned with tequila, sombreros, and salt! Next thing I know - I'm on my back on a table in "aviators" (blinding white chest bared for all) and she is straddling me! So, without fail, I was initiated properly...but I still think my first shot was the best one!!! Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic

Well - I'm sure she'll fill you in on "her side" of the details, but I met Celljumper out at about 10pm last night (after "sort of" standing her up from earlier) and we got started with a shot of tequila, then moved on to beers. The girl was well into it when I arrived though...something about this guy named Jager and his friends getting shot!! Played a little foosball (table soccer) - and I let the b-day girl win, of course - and chatted until the wee hours of the morning. Pyke's one tired puppy at the office this morning, but it was worth it!! She's a riot! I don't know what Sebazz and all you guys did to her, but she is one competitive cookie, too!! I have the bruises to prove it! Anyway, she spoke very highly of all you guys out there and misses you heaps. I hope she had an okay b-day in her new "home". I certainly had fun celebrating it with her!

Sexy is mental - therefore it changes for everyone, but to me...sexy is: *smiling when you think no one is looking... *laughing like you're all alone... *being able to get out of bed, naked, and walk around without feeling exposed... *having a dream, and sharing it... *being able to dress up in cheap/naughty clothes, and making them look elegant (or dress up in nice clothes and make them look trashy!)... ...but mostly - sexy is being able to turn the tables, and have you look at me as though *I* am the only person in the world who matters, and smile accordingly!! And what is that "certain amount of time"?? Cause for me...I'm pushing 8 months!! Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic

Mine started off pretty good - nothing extraordinary. About 1 I was called into my bosses office for my annual "compensation conversation". Seems that what he told me was going to be given to me 3 weeks ago, was actually more than what I was going to get. That turned into a slightly crap afternoon - then I got really bad (doubled over!) stomach cramps in the middle of practicing with my tennis team and had to leave. I didn't sleep well and it has rolled over from yesterday.... I'm hoping today will pick itself up towards the afternoon, otherwise, I'm just going to go home to bed and not move until tomorrow!!! Patience my fellow s!! I've got both a suit and Pantz on order...word on the street is they'll be done in about 2-3 more weeks. I've got half the $$ and the rest is currently getting earned! Just modified my profile and thought it would be interesting to see some of the (newer) PW's length of time on "the block". Obviously, Sangiro will win, but who is second longest...etc! This should be fun! Me: 8-15-2000 [old man voice]Yeah, back in the day...[/old man voice] Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic

I think you're getting at the whole "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" debate/circle of logic And we know that is always a risky endeavour, Muenkel! Best just not trust any of them....or trust all of them - and then raked over the coals!!! (oh no he di'n't!!) Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic

you're right! I "assumed" (yeah - I know!) she knew she couldn't just jump into gear without AFF, or other training (and I don't know a school in the country that would let her - so I was confident in that)... But, now I feel like schmuck!! If she's buying Tommy H gear and selling sex swings...she doesn't get my rig! Clay can show her all his tricks and be the kind soul to "throw a dog a bone"!! Who knows....she might even baaaaaaahhhh for you Clay!!! Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic

If you ask my boss - I'm a kick-ass market/competitive researcher for a Big 4 firm. If you ask me, or most people around me looking at my computer screen - I surf dz.com all day and then go home!
