Very creative Chop CHop and RoysPlayThing ... We did the same thing one year in Mexico ... Caught a huge Yellowtail Tuna and had so much fish we didn't know what to do with it. We made Yellowtail pancakes just for shits and giggles. I don't remember if I actually ate them but other people believe it or not did!!! I was thinking about you two the other night. We should get together soon Chop Chop before I move away. And I want to meet RoysPlayThing too. Oh and BTW, my reserve is finally repacked Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." I am thankful that my mom, dad, stepmom, stepdad, daughter and grandma are alive and well. I am thankful for my friends and for all the support I have had from friends, acquaintances and family this year and always. I am thankful that I have found someone I think is incredibly special and I am crazy about. I am thankful that I have many of the finer things in life in a world that is so unstable. I am thankful for my health and my freedom. I am thankful to all of America's Heros, the ones all over the world who dedicate their lives so that I may have these things. Oh and I forgot to add that I am thankful to have my kitties too. Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."

It's Saturday - Why Arn't you at the DZ?!?!
NoShitThereIWas replied to Unstable's topic in The Bonfire
Was supposed to start learning to rig at the DZ today but am sick AGAIN , Baby is sick both of us with fevers ... It sucks, one of us gets over it and fights it off just long enough for the other one to get it and vise versa. It feels like we've been sick forever Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Packing blind??? ... Piece of cake. What is the prize for a canopy that opens? I think I could do it ... Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."

I faxed my measurements for a freefly camera suit over months ago and haven't heard anything. I did talk to Sherri beforehand and she said they were moving from Venice, CA to Des Moines, Iowa. Firefly suits rock. Does anyone have a contact number? I've waited this long I don't mind waiting a little longer as long as I know they are still in production ... If skydiving is what you love, you should not quit doing it. I like a lot of what other people have said, too. I can recall one Drop Zone I visited that I got some pretty weird vibes at. No one there knew me either. Had that been my only DZ to choose from I probably would have moved to another DZ, quit the sport for a while or gone back to give it another chance. Bottom line is don't quit doing what you love for anybody unless of course you are in my position, I wonder if I should quit the sport only because I am my daughter's last living parent. (It is a tough decision to make especially since it is how I can earn the most money right now with a great schedule as I have been in this industry for the last 7 years and it is what I really enjoy doing). I will probably end up continuing on as an AFF-I and learn rigging which is something I can do on the ground until I get through school ... So if I continue jumping you should not let some unfriendlies stand in the way of your jumping cause in the whole big picture of things, that would be silly. I have met many of the most incredible people I have ever known in this sport and I have met a couple of the worst too. Skydiving is just like any other community. There are coolios and there are AssHoles and you just have to find the coolios is all. Oh and I think if you give us a chance for the most part we are a pretty good group of people Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."

Rosa, Damn, you look GOOD in that tunnel. And I'm a lady telling you that (who digs guys not girls) so I just thought I'd let you know my opinion although I'm sure you'd much rather hear it from some hottie guy like Viking ... Dropdeded, Not sure how far you've come along with this major task (as someone who has moved and owned fresh and marine water aquariums) but don't forget after you put the new water in the tank you need to condition it and use chemicals to make sure the water is the right pH. Ask your local aquarium store which chemicals are needed for freshwater tanks and just follow the amount to put in based on the number of tank gallons. Also, do try and get the fish's new water as close to the fish's "desired" temperature as possible so their systems will be shocked less and it is best to use plastic baggies about 1/2 filled with water and air to store your fish in and then just let them "sit" like that in their baggies floating in the water that you prepare to put them in. After about 20 minutes, the water in the bag will become the same temp as the water in the tank and you can simply cut the bag and let them swim free. Hope that helps, definitely sounds like you are working with freshwater, saltwater is a bit different. Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."

I think Parapak looks cooler so I went with it. But, if it was my first rig I might think twice. Kind of like when you buy your first car, chances are you'll be okay in anything but you go with something maybe not AS pretty, but a little safer and more durable rather than something more delicate. I would say go with whatever you like best but just know that if you do crash and burn, the cosmetic damage to a rig made of Parapak will likely be more noticeable than a Cordura container. And I understand about the color issue ... cause it is all about looking cool Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."

Yeah, but that's okay cause I got Troy out on a bad spot when I was Reserve JM and he was main side. But we lived and we passed and it was all good. Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."

Thanks SkyMama, I have been looking for a good pumpkin bread recipe and this one sounds like a good one! Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."

OK, so we start with a half rotting chicken and now we are into Whipped cream. This is getting good Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."

Yeah that is right Shark and I actually was main side on that one. Wouldn't have mattered. Half the time they were out the door whether we had a hold of them or checked the spot or not. The times they actually checked in were bonuses. And Kallend yes, but I was barely even 1:1 wingloading a 7 cell Spectre downwind from the main landing area, my only hope of getting close or hitting it was to face the wind and pray for drive. Wasn't happenin though, call it Screwed. Bottom line, landing in the corn sucks. Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."

You Go Michele!!! (Keeping fingers crossed that it all works out) ! Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."

Michele, I would say if you have checked this thing out thoroughly and it all boils down to a matter of risk in terms of debt/it not paying itself off ... I would say, if you think at the very least it will pay for itself go for it, then the only thing you lose is your time and your effort. And ... if the other zipcode has given you quite a few more leads than expected combined with being a great realtor ... These are all positive reasons of why to move forward. Try and put it into a risk vs. benefit type situation and then decide which one carries more weight and then look to your instinct. Now the leads you are getting ... are they actual "real" leads? Are any of them panning out or working with you long term? I would say try it if it feels right Michele but listen to your gut instinct. If somthing pressures you for time to make a hasty decision I would already be weary but then I have been duped by crooks before so I am a little more critical now. Someone said if it seems too good to be true it almost always is, but if it seems like the numbers and dollar signs speak for themselves, hell go for it. No one gets ahead in this world without taking risks. Any of us Skydivers will tell you that Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."

Well, I landed in the corn at SDC ... our pilot during the AFF Cert. Course was told to drop us in the "general location" of the DZ (to him this meant within a 2 mile radius)... He and I laughed about that part of it later but let me tell ya, I've landed in corn twice, once at SDC and once at Rantoul from a REAL BAD spot ... Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." After being one who just went through a major trippy life scenario, just remember that every day is a new day. When today ends, tomorrow begins. As long as there are lots more tomorrows, there are lots more beginnings. Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
