  1. Probably your best learning tool is to look at videos of yourself and watch them in slow motion too if you are doing anything "fancy". I used to critique my own flying skills to the hilt. Also watch video of really experienced belly fliers in the wind tunnel or on skydives and just look at their body positions to try and figure out how thy are doing their moves. Ooops sorry you were interested in Canopy Control ... there are some good books out there, try getting a copy of Basic Canopy Flight by Skydive University. Don't know any real good videos ... unless there's something out there on CReW Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  2. Hottest SkyHottie = SkyBeerGodd Who else fights fires, saves people's lives daily as a paramedic, is smart, good looking, way cool and extremely hot at the same time, does tandems, AFF, static line, video, rigger, pilot, need I say more??? And he has the best personality, hot bod and always makes me smile and laugh. Now that is what I call a hottie
  3. Don't forget the lime and the coconut!!! Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  4. I don't ride motorcycles yet (although I have started learning to ride smaller bikes) I just like sitting on and riding on the back of big things that rattle and hum between my legs Especially when they are 1951 Harley Davidson classics. But Yes, I can drive a stick shift. I grew up in LA where driving is a survival skill and learned to drive in Dad's automatic '69 Chevy Stingray 'Vette with a 525 horsepower engine (with his assistance of course since it was about when I was 9 or 10).
  5. I don't mind driving my car if need be, the only reason I hesitate is cause my alignment has just recently been a little out of whack so I would want to get that straightened out before a road trip. If I can get it into the shop before then, no prob ... Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."

  12. Quote Also; another thing Mike likes that might get you a little extra altitude is NUDE SKYDIVERS. He likes to see big ways launch from his plane that are nothing butt nude skydivers. OK wait, you said "Butt" nude skydivers. How is the weather out there??? I've never done a "nude" skydive but if I ever were to, it had better be damn warm out!!! Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."

  18. Here is the post of a very unhappy Sprint PCS customer. I would not recommend signing up with Sprint PCS if you are someone who likes and appreciates good customer service. They sent me my bill which I paid promptly on time and then promptly turned off my cell phone service. After calling every phone # on my bill for customer service you cannot get a hold of a "Live" person, just a stupid message recording which doesn't help you solve the problem which is very frustrating. Finally I look them up on Google to try and find other numbers where I can speak to a live person. All I seem to come across are the stories of others who have posted how awful their experiences were with Sprint Customer Service and I am like great, I have a 2 year contract with these people???? I finally get a hold of someone at a store and she tells me to call the same numbers I was calling and to punch in a phony phone number and hit pound. I do that and the system hangs up on me . To make a long story short, after going through pure hell just to finally straighten the problem out I realize that I can not change service cause I have a contract until July 2005 . Thanks for allowing me to vent. Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  19. I haven't jumped in HollyCoaster in ages but I am going down to SMB on Friday to learn some rigging ... I'll be passing through so if you need another airplane volunteer, my reserve is repacked and ready to go ... Plus, I need to make some jumps with Chop Chop and the Anvil especially before the Anvil decides to take off and leave us all Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  20. QuoteSome people just don't understand... I am a rare breed things don't bother me the way many others get bothered.... This is why I am so misunderstood by women...I don't care what skydivers you had "things" with, I like everybody until somebody gives me a reason not to like them, this is why I have so many 'guy' friends and so little 'girl' friends .... Because I don't think the way most women do! I speak my true mind, I don't have envy for other women, I just try to show people that I am just me... Amen sister. I feel your pain and have been in that boat many a time. Sorry for whatever happened to make you feel that way though. I still would like to get together with you and the Chop soon. Getting over the flu right now but I'll shoot you off a PM sometime next week and hopefully we can make some plans. Talk to you soon! PS. I always enjoyed reading yours and CHop CHop's posts. Always entertaining and fun and well, since I know Roy, it makes it even more fun to read that he has found someone he obviously cares so much about. But I do understand about the drama... Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  21. Great Post! I have never burned out on teaching in this sport. Packing? Yes. After a while I burned out on packing parachutes all day long when everyone else was out jumping. And I felt the same way about being a full time manifestor if I was couped up inside all day. Terrible feeling I have known instructors and videographers who would be the first to tell you that they don't "fun" jump. They always seemed to be the highest stressed people on the DZ. After a while you could tell they were not enjoying themselves or what they were doing. It was all about the $$$ at the end of the day. I have learned enough about myself that I need to be in an environment where staff likes to get out and fun jump. To me, work in this sport is simply the amazing opportunity to introduce and share our world with its newcomers. Play in this sport is about getting out there and kicking some ass with my friends by crankin out some mega points. You just can't have one without the other. And, All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
  22. Mike, I don't know you at all, but it sounds like you did exactly the right thing. It is unfortunate that sometimes as skydivers we have to deal with the public at large (which encompasses some of the biggest pains in the asses) in a "business sense". As a prior manifestor and current AFF-I I think that guy got off way cheap and you guys delivered a quality service. It seems like he had no right or reason to complain but sometimes you just can't please everyone. Will you be flying the King Air at Taft this winter? I am planning a road trip down South in January/ February and I just LOVE the people out at Taft. Getting to jump out of the infamous Mike Mullins King Air would certainly be an added bonus . 23. I hope he is okay, he sounds like a pretty cool dude. Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  24. Moving to Missouri after winter, we should get together. I miss Chop Chop, he is my Boogie Buddy and I can't wait to meet you! Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
