Of all those choices I would choose Germany (if there is jumping there). If not, I would go for Cali, at least the weather is nice ... But if you could choose anywhere, I would choose Oahu. And I second everything that Scott said. Taft is a great DZ. The vibe out there is the best. The people are so nice and what a fun crowd to hang and jump with. Nick, Cher, Corky, Bethany, Dave C., and everyone else too! Don't forget to stop by Nick and Corky's rigging loft. It is awesome! Hi Michele! I'm so glad to hear you are back in the sky. And you got to jump with Shark, lucky lady ... All I can say is that I am ecstatic for you. I too made some jumps yesterday after a 4 month break. Feels great doesn't it? Next time we will head down to Snore and get on a couple of loads. I'll try and make it down before I head East. So it seems like forever that I just took the day off to sit back and be a couch potato. I napped and watched TV most of the day (well after a hard day of skydiving yesterday ...) But there is a Family Ties marathon on TVLand channel. I guess they play all of the old 80s shows I grew up with and I forgot how much I used to enjoy some of them. So I thought it would be a fun thread to ask all of you which one was your favorite(s)? Me, personally, I would have to say Family Ties. I just loved all the characters. Awwww Chop Chop, we just can't let this thread die! You are sooo sweet! And Plaything is so sweet too! She does have the best attitude and a beautiful face and I was very happy to meet her! Ok, so when is the next adventure? This time lets do something that Plaything gets as much enjoyment out of as we do and isn't stuck driving a bunch of misfit jumpers around ... I just had a GREAT much needed day out at Taft yesterday. I have got to say that it is the people who make a Dropzone a Dropzone. Mike Mullins King Air was certainly a blast but getting to hang out with the Taft crowd is the best. For a little DZ out in the middle of nowhere, I am always happy while there. The Dave Crouch crowd is made up of some of the nicest people in the sport. I also got to do some non traditional Speed Star with Bob Sinclair which was a hoot. Anyone who has never been to Skydive Taft, I highly recommend going. A very fun DZ and now with a kick ass airplane and decent weather all winter long. Whew Hoo! I have never been addicted to RedBull or Mountain Dew but I spent one summer at Skydive Chicago and they sold the GoFast drink there. Now that is something I became addicted to real quick. It almost became an expensive drug habit as each little can was like over $2 or something. So 3-4 of those a day add up real quick! But the GoFast drink is so yummy and perfect when you need just the right amount of pick me up! Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."

I just had that same conversation with some skydiving friends last night one of them being a Newbie in the sport. There were a couple bits of important advice I was told as a Newbie in the sport and I believe that information saved me injuries cause I was always rearin to get onto any airplane that I could jump out of: Someone used to tell me, if you notice, the jumpers who have been around a while and aren't all mangled up are the ones who say, I am going to sit this load out cuz the winds are too high. Also, the worst wind conditions (after living in Hawaii and jumping there for a couple years) are the gusty ones. I have seen lots of injuries in Hawaii due to winds and gusts. One minute you have an inflated canopy coming down nice and smooth and the next it has collapsed very low to the ground Also the one I am sure you have all heard a million times by now ... It is much better to be on the ground wishing you were up in the air than being up in the air wishing you were on the ground. Blue skies. Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Thanks to Lany, us incapacitated, messed up skydivers made it home safe from Taft. Lany, you rock, Thank you for driving the non descript white cargo van that goes 90 with Wisconsin plates and bald tires in the rain and sleet and for getting us all home in one piece. Oh and for saving us from the wrath of Sketchy driving Whew! Just wanted to say, I don't know about you other No Cal Folk, but we were skydiving today all day out of Mike Mullins rocket ship!!! Neener neener neener. The crowd at Taft was awesome as always.
