  1. See guys? This is the kind of input I need to make this idea fly.
  2. What days do you have in mind? I could loan you a rig while I'm in town, but then we're heading off to the land of Cliffs and honey (Moab)
  3. There's usually a trauma bag floating around at the Turkey Boogie. There's no such thing as a jinx, but there's such thing as a busted up BASE jumer. We can do a lot more with a trauma bag than without one. If you own one, and have the training to use it, there's not really much excuse to not have it at least in the car. I think if you're going to have a spineboard that's cool, but at the very least consider getting a Kendrick Traction splint (or two) because they truly kick ass. Go heavy on splinting materials. SAM splints are rad, but have some serious splinting material in there. Pre-padded boards to splint large bones are always nice, particularly if we're not calling for a rescue but someone did a tib/fib and we're going to carry them down a talus to a car. Bone ends moving around can make that unpleasant, I've heard. Added: Is there really an interest in BASE specific, compact, (jumpable?) trauma kits?
  4. I'll be in town again this weekend.
  5. Not me. Jeb has fundraisers more powerful than anything we're likely to come up with. BUT!!!!! Who wants to start a fundraiser to send me on a year long "endless summer" BASE trip? I would support that.
  6. Lesson #1 about BASE jumpers for you: we're a suspicious bunch. If something doesn't add up, we'll probably see through it and call you on it. Nice try though.
  7. Or Martin Tilly at Asylum Designs. 530-823-5222 He knows a little about BASE jumping too.
  8. How much do you know about BASE jumping? Are you sure you're the person we want to tell our story? We already have a few (very) talented writers in our midst and they know what makes us tick. Some of them are BASE jumpers themselves. Do you have a sample of your work? I definitely have some cool stories, and not all of them are about BASE, but I'm pretty careful who I would share those stories with if they're going to be published anywhere but here. If I was going to have a story of mine go into a book, I'd have to do some background research on the writer.
  9. Yeah, but you have to go hand-held.
  10. BOLD statement! I did live in japan for a couple of years. But alright. When should I come up? I'm going to Twin Falls for the weekend, and then Moab for a week or so starting next weekend, then NorCal for Christmas. When's a good time?
  11. Seriously!? Dude, I love sushi. Seriously. It's like crack. How good of a deal? Like all you can eat?
  12. Okay, last call for that rig. Otherwise, I'm just bringing two for myself. Shit, I can't wait until tomorrow. Who wants to do a beer load with me?
  13. I think we're overthinking the glove issue. Just grab whatever is handy. Gardening gloves (although I don't know that you'd find gardening gloves around my pad. I don't garden), mountain biking gloves, whatever. Any gloves are going to work. Stuff them into a cargo pocket once you're done climbing.
  14. I don't know. I think Tom A has a couple of them. My guess would be a 3/8" cable.
  15. it probably would do okay, but after a few hundred feet of climbing with the prussik tensioned appropriately to catch you if you slipped, the cord would begin to saw through. Cable ascenders are pretty easy to locate if you want one.
  16. He will BASE jump again. That's pretty certain.
  17. Jaap... I don't think you're good enough to do it.
  18. I use six small clamps, six large clamps, a pull-up cord, a tent stake, a weight, and a small rubberband cut in half. A beer is useful, but not absolutely critical.
  19. Wait till ya get popped! Things start to add up then, especially ordering that new rig.
  20. Didn't we figure out that was actually PAL?
  21. Yeah, but How much can you mess up a round packjob?
  22. Dude, there's a huge difference between "Whuffo" and "really busy with other things called life" give yourself a beak. (((dude, are you really an adult film actor?)))
