I had a crossfire 1 for 800 jumps, it only collapsed on me in significant sheer turbulace, as did most canopies on that load. I beleive the crossfire 1 problem was limited to a batch made by precision in the USA. Thanks for the great post some food for thought. The reason why I asked, is that immediately prior to the collapse, the price of gas was higer than it had ever been in the US (which was on par with what the rest of the world was paying for the previous decade), Americans were doing it tough due to that price increase. Expensive gas = expensive food and expensive anything that needs to be shipped in vehicles. It all peaked just before the collapse. I simply found his comment interesting, I read that timeline once and clerly remembered the part where the Rothschild have had contol on media from very early on in the piece. The Rothschilds are very, very affluent indeed and have alot of control over many things. It seems the massive wealth is exponential. I cannot knwo for sure whether everything in there adds up, as I don;t have the time, energy, or ambition to do so, but I rather than just ignoring potential realities, I will pnder them. I have been watching the exchange rates quite closely for the past few months as I am buying and selling some tandem equipment in and the US dollar determines whether or not I sell or buy the equipment. Today, just before close many currencies jumped $0.01 and now the canadian dollar is at .98 the Australian is .97... NZ is at .745 Last time it was like this was immediately prior to the econimic collapse in 2008. Do you think US economy/dollar can handle being so weak, It is great for me because I pay about 20% less for the Sigma I want, you would think that it would be good for the USA because US made products are less expensive. However, as much of the US products have moved manufacture over seas... this is bad for the american people. What are your gas prices doing right now? If it falls on its ass again, people will freak out and buy US dollars and gold. This would put the Aussie back down to .70 and the kiwi back about .59... I sure hope this is not all true, but think about many of the discussions you have all had here pertaining to finance, freedom etc and make you own judgment; When you areinevitably 'told' that you country is going to invade Iran in the short future, think to yourself about what has happened in the last decade and beyond and ask where it will put you, your family and your loved ones. A child that young does not have a properly developed middle ear and the pressure changes can cause irreversabe damage. Here in New Zealand there is no specific minimum age for tandem passengers, I have taken 8 and 10 year olds but I always discuss with their parents the middle ear factor and ensure that have no problem equalising due to flu/mucous etc... They must fit the harness, and it is definately against the rules ere to use a specially made harness. I call bullshit on not being able to use them from day dot. Nobody should ever rely on an audible for altitude awareness, just like nobody should ever rely on an AAD to open thier parachute, both are back up devices. Those that beleive it is not reasonable to use them from your very first solo jump, plase tell me what changes at the point that you think you shold be abe to use them? Complacency? I had one in my helmet from the moment I graduated off static line, and I have never depended on them. they are a back up. A couple of time I did lose altitude awareness and my dytter made me aware of that. That is what they are intended for, and that can be a probem on you very first solo jump. I don't think this subject is worth discussing in any detail. Taking a camera on the first wingsuit jump is stupid, on aff stage 1 is stupid, first freefly jump... stupid, first 4 way... guess what; STUPID. I find it hard to find a reason that comes close to reasonable for someone to take a camera on thier first anything. That attitude is akin to those that want to be a champion swooper at 100 jumps. I would take that to an experienced rigger and get a professional opinion before jumping it (again?). It looks to me as if the second ring will not be loaded properly potentially putting more force on the loop than it is designed for. If someone showed up to my dz with a rig like that I would not let them use it. With BASE the onis is purely on you... Be careful!! deafness is a disability, as much as deaf people have no problem skydiving they are more aware with thier other senses. if you are humming away to your music, your other senses are no more aware. As I said, i am not totally opposed to people using them, but I do think the liklihood of a collision under canopy or on the ground is much higher without your hearing.
