i suggest getting a freefly siut that is fitting but not skin tight. definately not baggy. you will be able to do all sorts of skydiving in it. a coach will send you in the right direction. and don't worry about the cost of a coach because the jumps that a coach will save you by 'not' learning the long hard way(with no coach). willsave you heapps of time and money. you just have to find a good coach that you can relate to. good luck. have fun "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix

whta about having exprience with (outside) video this could also be a factor. many T/M's have never done camera so adding the unknown would be far more to deal with than if you hade done 2000 camera jumps and are comfortable with the camea operation. i'm a vidiot but i'm doing my T/rating this week. i've done 1800 camera jumps. i've seen T/M's doing hand cam that can hardly find thier way around a video camera let alone know about good compsition etc. surely this must add a whole lot of thinking to the aquasion? just my thoughts. i recon 100 tandems with previous camera skills(1000+) and 500 without. i didn't vote as i havn't done my rating yet. you are exactly right stilettos do have a short arc.= not good for swooping. 1.1 w/l is not a good idea to swoop with either. if you have 400 on you 135 then moving to a 120 with a more appropriate w/l for swooping would be a goo idea although you wil have to do many jumps on it to get use to it first.crossfires or safires are good to start on. actually i jump a camera suit that is a freefly suit with wings and is made from a courdura(but thinner) type material( we call them sweatbags) they are much slower than cotton suits. i sometimes have to film 30 kg children doing tandems on strongs with light tandem masters. no worries. my swoop cords go under my gloves as we jump in very cold conditions as well. i have no problem reaching my slider, toggles and rapid links as i have no riser hoops. just ensure the swoop cords are long enough to reach you toggles. my wings only go from my elbows to my hips so no chance of bridle through the wing action. and no need for wingsuit type deployments either. there is no reason for everybody to peak out on someone jumping wings. skill and currency is far more important than numbers. to make someone fall faster for deployment is far more dodgy than jumping wings. you don't have to go OTT on the wings though. da kine rags make a very baggy freefly suit this is probably all you need "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix

are you sure about that when gi explained it to me she decribed tracking as, stalled atmonauti. just like an aircraft with no engine has to increase the angle of incidence to keep the lift going otherwise it will stall. i am not too sure though but that is how i took it. any physicists out there? my partner leigh has been into freestyle since she started jumping and has a few videos ans books etc. the best i saw was dale stuarts video which is quite old but unequaled. the book called 'the aerial freestyle guide book' by dale stuart is very good. also the earlier atmonauti video has quite a bit of freestyle on it. we also have the us nationals artistic disciplines dvd, there is plenty of freestyle on there. you want to find a good camera flyer to jump with you. it is very hard to film with all the fallrate changes etc. but a whole lot of fun. pac 750 is actually a pac 'XL' 750'and there is also a pac cresco 750 that is what we have and the motor is the same as the xl the xl is a 16 place and the cresco is a 9 place. the xl can't be as quick? isn't the king air a twin turbine? you'd hope it's quicker than a single turbine. at our d.z. we have a cresco 750 it is very fast, 12000' in 12 mins and 15000' in 15mins with 9 or 10 people and it can land before the tandems can. it is reasonably comfotable with all the mod cons for tandems but is very tight for students. i am wondering what aircraft there are out there that could have similar times to altitude with more room but also be able get down quickly? i see pilatus porters are used quit a bit are they quick too? it is easy for a rigger to attach some loops of webbing so you can have some bungee there. if the rig does not have hip rings then the leg straps will not slip up your thigh so much anyway. but it is always a good idea to have the bungee just in case eh. it is definately a bit of a hypocritical oversight on greenpeaces part. i take it the petrolium products was just the fuel for the ships propultion? it doesn't suprise me though that the corporate backed fox network tries to make greenpeace look like idiots without including the extent or importance of the area to be logged. the logging may be primary forest never to be seen again? i find it uncanny that greenpeace get ridiculed for a 'potential' evoronmental disaster, when they were/are trying to stop logging of an important area.
