  1. No Hookitt, me not you! PM'd you back. My offer stands anytime!!!! Just remember.................. Gatoraid!!! Also, simulating on the ground is nothing like a barrel roll in flight. Happens quickly, or you stay "inverted" and look, I guess. But what the heck, I'm just learning to "sit fly"!!!!! Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  2. Where did this come from? Okay hookitt, if you do a quick barrel roll, how in the world do you see anything? Quade, Bill, help this old boy out here................ Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  3. Hey Aggie, You wand Ed doing his job or writing you a love letter? Come on dude, support, support, support, support............................. If you want to know that bad, e-mail or a call. Ed always responds to mine. Lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way. ( I feel your frustration......... squeeze something!) Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  4. Jan, Thanks. Most of your info appears right on. Although most manufacturers know who they have sold to and most manufacturers know who they have as vendors. Something of this magnitude should cause all manufacturers to jump on the boat with the info. Thanks to you and Tom for your research. Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  5. Tom, Not wanting to flood their office with calls......... Did Bob Francis provide any probable cause? Or, specific manufacturers? Thanks & Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  6. I get back in town Friday! Barry, check your mail next week!!!! Oh Oh........ there go my taxes.......... (hope this is not a pyramid deal!!!) Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  7. Good Deal Dave. Go back an read your posts. Let's make is a positive effort. Not a "rant" like on the NG. Support Ed and the USPA on this with, again I'll say, specifics they can use. I'm on your side Brother. Let's do it in a manner that reflects our professionalism. Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  8. Having traveled from the Mid-West to FL twice since the first of the year, one to Tampa and one to Datona. I called both airports and the TSA offices. Arrived early and contacted the supervisor at both departure airports. I explained my equipment and my concerns and educated both on what they were looking at. I had no problem. Most TSA employees are generally good people who just don't understand. Why waste your time posting your complaints here? CAll USPA with Specifics not general complaints and help them help us! Call your Senator, Representative, and the TSA General office. Put your efforts into something positive! It is real easy to sit down on a key board and complain........ Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  9. Aggie, You are a great guy but, you are out in left field on this one. I know Ed Scott very well at USPA who handles government relations and he does one heck of a job! The problem is you. Try getting involved with the situation instead of complaining. Why not call USPA and see what they are actually doing, you would be surprised and much more happy. Chill out a little, educate yourself on what is happening, and Join The Cause Brother! Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  10. I don't know where you pull this quote from. But, here is the phone number for my x-brother-in-law, 1-800-555-Help. He's with American Family. (Our little private joke!) One..................................... James 4:8
  11. yes on the weight limits. Manufactures and TSO's set those. As far as height limits I would believe (IMO) the only limit would being able to correctly fit in a harness. Check with your local DZ for specifics or call the container manufacturers for their weight limits. Blues and welcome! J.E. James 4:8
  12. Hook, Sign me up. I'll support any method that will attempt to reduce the "S.L.A.M.'s" (Stupid Low Altitude Maneuvers) going on. In fact I'll even proof read old Night's BSR type BS. As far as grandfathering................... well, I'm not one yet but I'm old enough to be! Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  13. One, About 200 degrees into it the riser pressure got too damn high and I had to let up. So I bled some speed off but now I'm pretty low. I gave the left front another small pull to finish off the turn. Because of the weird turbulence in the area (downwind of tall trees) my parachute did something it has NEVER done before. It just plain refused to fly. Never made any type of recovery at all. It just sunk. I couldn't do anything but bury the toggles. Which had pretty much ZERO effect. Luckily......I have a BOAT of a canopy and was able to just slide in on my ass. WHEW!!! That could have been much worse. Especially if I had been on the 135 I am about to get. was able to just slide in on my ass. WHEW!!! *** ............landing? Hope so. Glad you are okay. Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  14. Jen, You know it Girl. Seriously though, I have never accepted a tip eventhough they have been offered several time. I ask the student to spend it on another jump so I can go along with them again!!! Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  15. Please, please do it!!!! PO Box 1790 Ozark Missouri 65721 I guarantee Barry will get his 10 cents.......... with postage due!!!!!!! James 4:8
  16. sniff, sniff................. How true!!!! On the Mark Rob!!! Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  17. Cloud9, At least you are thinking about it. That is more than most do these days, but............ Look at your responses so far, Jumps canopy 250 Heatwave 150 394 Crossfire 111 2700 Safire 129 1100 PD9 210 5300 Xaos 84 and I'll throw mine in too. 3300 Vengeance 107 You are going to get many opinions here, but very little real information. Call the manufacturers, all of them, and discuss your questions, concerns, skill level, and desires. You'll get some marketing from them but all have been very straight forward in the past concerning what you want from a canopy, your skill level (read experience), and what you are flying now (read experience and point of reference concerning performance). Then, make your own best choice. Blues and be safe. J.E. James 4:8
  18. Bill you are a "moderator" don't stoop to partial quotes to try and win your argument. Go back to the last post I sent you and don't "paraphrase" a quote and post the whole thing. *** Bill, I've asked this question before and you did not answer so I'll try again. Where does it state in the FAR's, (in as much that BSR's and SIM's cannot be enforced anyway without the BOD doing it, and at that they can only revoke any license, rating, or membership you may hold) that an S&TA can ground anyone! I like what you are attempting to do but man, you are pushing the rope against a 500# gorilla. The difference is the gorilla has teeth. *** Sneaky little devil, aren't you......... Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  19. Tipping AFFI's is perfectly correct............. Please send to: J.E. VanNatta AFFI PO Box 1790................ (Barry, I'll give you 10% of everything I receive!) Blues, J.E. James 4:8
