The Optimum Reserve is made from a 30 denier low-permeability, low-bulk fabric available exclusively from Performance Designs. We've combined this fabric with special aerodynamics and extensive reinforcing to create great strength, better performance, and a far smaller pack volume for a given size. The Optimums are rated for maximum exit weights ranging from 220 pounds to as much as 290 pounds! This reserve has successfully been drop-tested at weights and speeds considerably higher than those required for FAA certification according to TSO C23d, the highest standard to-date. The Optimum flies and lands far more like a main parachute with a more powerful flare, by a wide margin, than any reserve we have ever tried.

Since the release of the PD Velocity in 1999, Performance Designs learned lot about cross-braced canopies. Our designers worked up this pack within 2 years. Its main feature is a container of a reserve canopy. Pilot chute of the Reserve has a rigid hat and keeps within under two valves that allows it to jump out more quickly (it is more exacting to accuracy of packing). For installation of the AAD (type CYPRES) squib the additional valve is used. Long tests have proved reliable work of the Reserve container at operation of the AAD. Also the design of the pack’s humeral elements is modified. The new pack is placed on a back more conveniently and completely excludes casual disclosing valves of the release risers.

Parachute system "Spirit-Tandem" provides performance of parachute jumps of two parachuters – tandem-master and passenger (flight weight – up to 190 or 220 kg), and also, if necessary, the parachuter with the cargo container of the big weight (up to 100 kg). The Stealth Tandem is an elliptical 9-cell canopy is a totally Zero-P. Its airfoil and moderate planform factor guarantee superb handling characteristics, to minimize the workload of tandem masters. Not only will they find the toggle pressure, turn response and flare power they have been seeking, but they will be pleasantly surprised by the soft on-heading openings. We have designed this canopy to maximize safety, but at the same time we made it an economical tool that will maximize the number of jumps per day. To reduce packing time we chose a hybrid construction. To reduce air time we built a wing that will fly slowly in brakes, but gives you a significantly higher rate of descent when flown at full glide. The Stealth Tandem comes standard with Microline 1000 lines, a slider with “super lightweight ” stainless steel grommets.
