A simple interface that took the signal produced by the audible to initiate the beep would pause the mp3 player with a delay switch that unpauses the music after a certain amount of time. It could be an in line piece of electronics like the remote control on the headphone wire. Simple...how large is the market? ...FUN FOR ALL!

In the picture, the break cord is looped...does this not increase the force required to break away... Looping the cord would give you twice the force required to break away since it is divided by two pieces of break cord. ...FUN FOR ALL!

Hey, why don't you have the music stop when you get to 40 sec. or so That is when you need to be paying attention any way. You can make a custom track for each altitude that you jump from. This would shut the music off for deployment, then you can adjust the volume so that when it comes back on (20-30 seconds later) and you are under canopy, it doesn't blow out your ears. If only they had MP3 players that responded to altitude! ...FUN FOR ALL!

You have a cypress? Just fly till it fires...quick opening, safe altitude....You'll certainly feel alive then! ...FUN FOR ALL!

What did you learn this weekend?
fundgh replied to superstu's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I learned that jumpsuits have a function, because it is tough to slow down and dock when you have nothing on. Head down kicks ass! and .... there are a lot of freaks from Perris! ...FUN FOR ALL! -
Did a number of jumps this weekend, I managed to get my slider down, chest strap loose....WOW! It seemed to be a big difference. It flew faster, harness input was more effective, and it landed fast. I could see this increasing the danger a little, but it was very manageable. It was more responsive all around, it is kind of a pain in the ass getting the slider over the rapid links though. S-Links coming soon! ...FUN FOR ALL!

It may be back up, but I think it is mandatory for FreeFlyers! Not that it is hard to be altitude aware, but altitude goes by fast and if you get caught off guard trying get that sit stable, or trying not cork out under somebody, you need a second set of eyes to keep you in check. I set mine at about 6000 ft so it keeps me aware rather than informing me that I fucked up. ...FUN FOR ALL!

sitting next to someone you do not like.......
fundgh replied to cloudseeker2001's topic in The Bonfire
There is a dude that I don't like...I just ignore him. He is always telling people dumb shit, and I want to tell his he sucks and nobody likes him, but I am not that mean. I have been looking for an opportunity to push him out of the plane. Is that frowned upon? He has a parachute, and is planning to jump anyway! What would be the big deal? ...FUN FOR ALL! -
Maybe I posted the question wrong. It has been recommended in the downsizing debate that one should be able to turn at least 45 degrees during the flare on their current canopy before downsizing. I want to be able to avoid people/things in the landing area. I am not trying to carve though the swoop coarse. I mearly want to be a safer and better pilot. ...FUN FOR ALL!

I fly a Boeri, and it works very well. I left the goggle strap attached because I still use it for skiing and I use it to hold my goggles when I am on the plane. I mounted a dytter on the outside and it works well. ...FUN FOR ALL!

Does the shape change? My buddy got one and did a little baking, but it still looks like a PENIS head? I have seen some people who have Mindwarps that look like they fit decent. Does baking fix this? ...FUN FOR ALL!

Once we got off rip cord rigs and were doing hand deploy, our rental gear did not even have AADs. I don't see the big deal in any of this unless it was the students decision to ride the plane down and the DZ decided to rip the person off. ...FUN FOR ALL!

Have you ever been injured while skydiving?
fundgh replied to Clownburner's topic in Safety and Training
I sprained my ankle pretty good when I was learning to flare my newish ZP canopy. Flared a little late and folded it under, but stood up the landing. Nobody noticed, but I am still getting over the injury after 4 months. ...FUN FOR ALL! -
Is this a manuever that is taught in advanced canopy training, or is it just a word of mouth technique. For the most part there should be no reason to require reserve at < 1000 ft. But say you are in dire need of flying canopy, this sounds like a good method to get some. ...FUN FOR ALL!

You can always go to the army surplus store and grab some coveralls. They work and look gnarly...why conform and try to look like a REAL skydiver-----Function before Fashion! ...FUN FOR ALL!

Why did you take the ear plugs out for the jump? I feel that the jump is louder than the plane. I have done a couple of jumps with ear plugs....I liked the sound I heard when I was freeflying - it was quieter and I felt more in touch with my visual sense and my sense of feel. However, I had to pay serious attention to hear my audible. If I hadn't been trying to hear it, I wouldn't have heard it. Is this common, or is it a battery/mounting issue? ...FUN FOR ALL!

I have to agree. When I saw this video, I thought that the guy wanted to be assaulted. Justified, yes. Sad, yes. Hard to watch, definately. I think the people that say this is unjustified, just don't like to see one human kill another. ...FUN FOR ALL!

On the ground in my gearbox. I have always trusted people...should I be more cautious? I figure the most valuable stuff I take with me when I do a jump. ...FUN FOR ALL!
