I have to admit I didn't practice PLF that much and I could use it! I biffed a couple landings this weekend and PLF was not used on either, fortunately on these, my skateboarding tuck and roll helped. But the legs together concept is sooo important....Question-I haven't figured out how to fly my harness by shifting my weight in it, but does having your legs together help prevent unintended turns during a rough landing? ...FUN FOR ALL!

Anybody recognize this as a Scam...Maybe not though? I bought an item on ebay, payed with credit card to paypal. Seller said he would ship item on Thursday. Thursday he emails and says shipping cost too much, and he would refund payment. Paypal emails with refund of 20 bucks less than price I payed. They say I have to open a business account to accept refund because it came from a credit card. I deny the refund and contact seller. I haven't heard back...this was yesterday. Sound fishy, or am I impatient and paranoid? ...FUN FOR ALL!

See thread on Making ff pants... but as far as material is concerned...Go to the fabric store and look at nylon based and poly-cotton mixes. I found that most fabric stores don't have the right kind of nylon mix that makes for good J-suits, but there are all kinds of poly-cotton mixes that work well. Material is not as critical as fit IMO! Pick something funky, and not too expensive and go with it. You will probably need 6-8 yards, depending on your size and how good you are at getting the most out of a rectangular piece of material. AS far as a pattern is concerned...Sacrifice some clothes, cut em apart and trace em. I freehanded a copy of some cords and a t-shirt, and freestyled the rest. Makes sure you add about 12 inches to the length! Advice-cut material oversize, pin it on you, sew it, and makes sure it fits right before cutting off excess material. You can always rip the seams if you screw up. ...FUN FOR ALL!

Pleating the cuffs is not hard. If you look at a freefly suit, there is only four pleats per cuff. I ended up making four equal pleats. I started with the split already sewed (?) and put em on, folded, pinned, and sewed a straight line across the bottom. Make a rectangular piece for the cuff with velcro, sew it on the pleated section (capturing the pleats with in the cuff, and you are done! ...FUN FOR ALL!

Could this be a new Record for most jumps to complete AFF! That is some persistance, way to go. I guess you have determined by now that this is not something you are doing just for kicks. How many cases of beer do you owe, there has to be a few firsts in there! ...FUN FOR ALL!

This helps a bit because my initial reason for changing my stows was brisk openings. I have yet to find that magical combination of packing techniques. I thought maybe tighter stows might help, but this information clarifies a few things for me. I am pretty sure I just need to find the right slider location, and nose rolling combination for good openings. However, I have had some line twists that I thought might be resulting from stowing. Any thoughts on this? Would uneven stow tension cause this, or distance from last stow to risers? ...FUN FOR ALL!

I didn't know that there were different size tube stows (other than the locking stows), however the new ones I bought are a different thickness than the ones I have replaced. There is a BASEr at my dropzone that uses a stowless d-bag. Any downfalls? ...FUN FOR ALL!

I have a back pack under my bed that has the stiffest "risers" I have ever seen...no stainless, no nickle. Webbing, or any polymer fabric that sits in any given position for long periods of time will develop some memory (or stiffness). ...FUN FOR ALL!

Actually, I never really had any opening problems, I was just trying to be meticulous about packing. I have always had somewhat loose stows. ...FUN FOR ALL!

When I bought my rig used, it had a combination of tube stows, short rubber band stows and long rubber band stows. As I have broken the rubber bands, I have replaced them with tube (I liked stowing with the tube stows). I have been applying the bag lift test and the stows will release before the bag comes off the ground. So I tried the tightening method that tube stow recommends, but it didn't work. So I swapped out for some small rubber bands, and the stows are still releasing too easy. So tried the larger bands with a double wrap, and this made it really tight and I could get the bag off of the ground. But I had to shake it hard to get it off. I seem to have trouble finding the happy medium. Any recommendations? ...FUN FOR ALL!

I figured so much, I play with them alot upstairs. Unless I accidentally grab the toggle, I try to play with rear while the breaks are stowed. Then release the breaks for control check and mess with rears again for a bit. It seems like landing on rears would be FAST! Am I wrong...I guess that is why a headwind would be good for practice. Should I be ready for a fast PLF? I want to know what I am getting into before I go biffin' ...FUN FOR ALL!

Now that I have the conditions to try it, what is the best way to go about your first rear riser landing...How high to start the flare, how deep to pull risers, how fast to pull risers? How much beer to buy? Any advise would be helpful. ...FUN FOR ALL!

I get paid to travel, I spend more time traveling than working, I can skydive most places I travel (in my first 50 jumps, I have jumped Deland, Z hills, Sebastion, SD Monterey Bay, Taft, Hollister, Byron, Cal City, etc), I don't really have a boss, and when I am not traveling, I can spend all day on DZ.com! ...FUN FOR ALL!
