"Deconstruction Of The Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) Hypothesis"
Coreeece replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
But in your own words you described how that direct effect is an immediate issue, as in right now: Note how your words differ from the words of the actual study: My problem isn't necessarily with the studies - and I think the models are interesting. What bothers me the most is how people then take these studies and misrepresent the data. It's no different than the recent study about how processed red meat can increase your risk for cancer - then you have media outlets saying that eating red meat is just as bad as smoking! It's no different than the new thread about how atheists are more altruistic than the religious according to some study - but the study didn't even say anything about atheists. ...and these people are supposed to be the intelligent ones - pro science - the free thinkers. They just take some study, twist it to appeal to their own bias, stamp it with the illusion of science and just pass it out - free thinking for all! Well, I guess you get what you pay for. . . Religious kids are harsher and less generous than atheist ones, study says
Coreeece replied to ibx's topic in Speakers Corner
Actually the study doesn't say much about atheists at all. From Study: So given the above, Jews, Buddhists and Hindus were not included because of small sample sizes. Were the Agnostics excluded as well for having an even smaller sample size - and why weren't they included with the 27.6% of the sample size that was non-religious? How did they determine the non-religious? Was it just a conglomerate of those who were atheists, spiritual, multi-theistic, and those who chose "other" or refused to answer? They don't even give the sample size of each of those groups, so how do you know if there were any atheists to begin with? Do you really believe that the non-religious in the study were all atheists and outnumbered the Jews, Hindus, Buddhists and agnostics combined? It should also be noted that the study does make a distinction between fundamentalists and non-fundamentalists but then they lump them all together. Of course Islamic extremists are going to be less altruistic and more punitive thus skewing the results - duh. Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour -
"Deconstruction Of The Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) Hypothesis"
Coreeece replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
Oh, so sometime in the future - I thought you meant immediately when you said "Immediate issues with AGW" Oh, I know it's not your study. The study said that we might have fatal temps in the hottest parts of the world several times near the end of the century, but the alarmist in you said "immediately!" "Deconstruction Of The Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) Hypothesis"
Coreeece replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
Yes, the wet bulb temp of 95°F feels like 165°F - so not much difference given the context of the study we were talking about. The models you were referring to said that these fatal temps might occur several times in a 30 year cycle closer to the end of this century. So as of now, all you're really saying is that the middle eastern desert is really hot in the summer - you're a genius. Thanks! Figures - you'd rather waste time nitpicking some minor detail while completely ignoring my post addressing your 165°F+ propaganda in the "Immediate issues" thread. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4766139;search_string=%20temps%20might%20occur%20several%20times%20during%20%2030%20year%20cycle%20%20end%20century;#4766139 Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour -

But all that matters is the 165°F+ equivalent because it's scarier! Which is why you were touting the heat index in the other thread - Type I alarmist 101 Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour -

We do not yet know WHAT EVERYTHING ELSE IS as of right now This site points this out time and time again And we also know that when it comes to climate NOTHING EVER STAYS THE SAME!!! Indeed Atacama Desert, Driest Place on Earth, Blooms With Millions of Pink Flowers Oh the horror. I find the story refreshing - It's a nice break from the typical Type I alarmists that tend to suffer from hallucinations of post apocalyptic flooding where people struggle to survive in +165°F temps.* *That's 165°F "wet bulb" temp - because normal people words aren't alarming enough! What do all youse Bible thumpers think about this?
Coreeece replied to kallend's topic in Speakers Corner
I think some of these people will be suffering till Jan of 2025 My comment was about Kallend and the double standard he apparently places on the accused depending on whether or not he agrees with their political/religious beliefs. ...but you and Bill will see what you want to see - no biggie, it's not the first time climate alarmists misinterpreted data to confirm their own bias. It appears this Baptist Church deals with accused pedophiles much more seriously than the Catholic Church, tho I wouldn't expect you to approve given your incessant bellyaching anytime someone questions the innocence of Hillary and other liberal criminals until proven guilty. Monogamy, Polygamy,Polyandry,Promiscuity etc (ON SUBJECT PLEASE)

He probably doesn't suffer from childish insecurities. I wish I didn't suffer form them as well... But alas, I get jealous like lots other people as well and there doesn't seem to be anything I can do against it. I would love to though. Maybe he's the one with the problem, not you. Maybe there is something wrong with his brain similar to Sociopaths/Psychopaths in that they don't feel guilt/remorse. Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour -

I saw a recent movie where the guy let his wife have sex with other men because he didn't have a penis. Does your friend have a penis? Does he even have any balls? Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour -
The only thing worse than a stolen valor video is a fake stolen valor video. These are real veterans pretending to have stolen valor - I don't get it. ...but I suppose they reserve the right to make fun of it for financial gain. Sometimes when I'd see Fred Thompson, I'd say say "wow, he looks just like that actor." Then I found out earlier this year that it was actually him. I didn't know much about his politics but he always seemed to have that presidential aura about him. It's interesting to think if he'd still be alive had we elected him to office, or if the country would be different, or how his passing would've affected the upcoming election... Lol, really? Hobby Lobby, out of a "myriad of other ways" is your big example of some type of imaginary oppressive theocracy? Hobby lobby pays for a variety of contraceptives - you should be thanking them. What they don't do is pay for abortions or abortifacient medication - nothing wrong with that. Also, abortion is a moral issue, not a religious one. AFAIK, the concept of abortion/contraception isn't "soundly grounded in the bible." Even the non-religious and some atheists feel it to be offensive to humanity, especially late-term abortion. I don't think most people had a problem with gays having the same rights as married people, they just had a problem with it being called marriage because it's not the same thing. Originally, I didn't really think it was any of my business and stayed out of it - but now, seeing how people are getting sued and tossed into jail by bigoted liberal hypocrites, I see I was wrong. That was prior to his conversion. The conversion of Saul to Paul would've been like Mahmud Ghazni converting to Mahatma Gandhi. ...and then you wonder why people don't listen to you. That is a "popular atheist belief" only in your mind. Ya, well I sure hope so...some people here make me wonder sometimes when they parrot absent-minded quotes about how religion is the only thing that can make good people do evil things, or how religion is the cause of more war than any other reason and that somehow the world would be a better place if it would just go away...blah blah blah. People see these atrocities and they naturally want to find someone or something to blame - which is usually something they don't like nor understand - like guns or religion. Blaming somebody or something else and turning it into a heated political issue is much more satisfying than merely accepting human nature for what it is. He might be a hypocrite if he's just doing this to get elected again, but perhaps he really believes that the LBGT community is already protected under the law and therefore have no need for special protections - as he already stated. I wouldn't expect politicians to vote a particular way based solely on their race, sex, religion, age, etc. Should black politicians be labeled as hypocrites simply because they feel affirmative action or some other "black cause" isn't necessary as defined by the mob mentality? It's interesting to see how liberal tolerance and fairness to minorities doesn't extend across party lines. Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour

"He said he wasn’t sure how this matter will affect him moving forward, but Randall believes Goshen is a welcoming and understanding community." This is the same town where all the churches got together and picketed every store that sold "Playboy" magazine. The stores all caved and stopped selling it. I know because it was my hometown. I left in 1986 to go to college, and never went back. Well you can go back home now - playboy doesn't show nudity anymore, anyway. Correct - contrary to popular atheistic belief, evil would exist even without religion. The vast majority of wars and violence have been started over non-religious issues. nonsense, perhaps they were never good to begin with. Even if they were, do you really believe an evil person couldn't persuade them? Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour

Usually they have to start flying planes into buildings and protesting soldier funerals before you get that level of consensus. So is this where you qualify your comment about insane religious types? It comes across as you comparing Islamic Radicals and christians as one and the same. Which is why I mentioned it. All it means is that most people generally disagree with flying planes into buildings and protesting soldier funerals regardless of your personal beliefs. Which is why even WBC probably doesn't want to kill anyone - it would defeat the purpose of convincing people to repent before it's too late, which is what I believe they are trying to do - albeit in the wrong way, imho. Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour
