It's bullshit. While I agree with the premise that "democracy" (as a generic term, even if in the form of a republic, etc.) works principally because citizens, for the most part, obey the law by choice, the speaker promotes the fallacious premise that presumes that the only (or at least the best) valid dynamic that drives voluntarily ethical behavior in the social compact must be taught and driven by religious belief. For an alternate perspective, people should educate themselves on, for one example, Secular Humanism. It's rather simple...most everybody was on the same page back in the day. Now everybody is doing their own thing...not necessarily a bad thing, but it kinda makes it hard to agree with each other... I can agree with human racism...we are a pathetic lot. We have been given this world without restriction and look what we've done with it. I wouldn't blame extraterrestrial civilizations for their hate of us.
