Oh, you said "people who need the crutch to have something to believe in." I don't even know wtf you're talking about. I think I had you confused with headoverheels, my bad. Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour

Sorry about your finance, but that's a terrible analogy. People like Stumpy would say that it's silly or foolish to pursue the idea of God - that it's inane - that perhaps people who do are of a lesser intelligence, but from the analogy we see that the only foolish thing would be to disregard an idea altogether merely because others disagree. Ya, I know - you don't dig Judaism - I get it, but that's not what we were talking about. We were essentially talking about an instinct that predisposes one to acknowledge the possibility of a deity. You said that if people didn't independently come to the same conclusion, it would prove that the deity didn't exist. I'm simply asking you to explain that logic. Before my fiancee was officially diagnosed with brain cancer, there were several groups of doctors that all came to different conclusions of what they perceived the abnormality to be - by your logic, that would prove the cancer didn't exist and we could then forgo the biopsy - How convenient. I never saw the BBC version that you mentioned, but sometimes I wonder if we were just spoiled with something new - a different perspective that pushed the limits, but now seems like commonplace mediocrity? It's kind of like South Park - I can remember almost 20 years ago sitting in my college dorm praying for a commercial to relieve the asphyxiation of laughter. The old man desperately attempting suicide by way of sticking a fork into an electrical socket was too much to bear back then - but times change. We've been desensitized. Anyway, I'm pressing on with the rest of the season. Tho the writing isn't as good, it's certainly more entertaining than last season. In the beginning, I always found myself asking how Frank was gonna get out of this mess, but now I find myself asking how they're finally gonna burn him. . . . . .It's interesting to me because I can't tell if that's how the writer's intended it or not. Probably more so in an altered state - Sorry, I can't relate. Again, probably more so in an altered state, but I could see the evolutionary benefits of that. It's certainly an interesting phenomenon - one that I've certainly experienced myself. Well, today, faith in God has nothing to do with early man's explanations of complex patterns that didn't exist. If I was in an unhappy relationship with a terminally ill wife that I loved too much to abandon, then I suppose I could just read a book called "Why Love Won't Go Away: Why You Owe it to Yourself to leave - but wtf difference would it make if I didn't have that selfish desire to suppress the truth and abandon her to begin with? It's because of this type of blinding selfishness that the country finds itself in the predicament that it's in today. Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour

I think there are some deleted posts in the thread. But Ron often indulges in his God given (literally) mission to bring the grace of his beliefs to us here. If one feels threatened to conform to anther's opinion of life and God on an internet forum, then I'd submit that they're either bitterly biased or exceedingly paranoid...I'd prescribe some time-off from social media. Which is an excellent argument for why there is no diety. If there were, all these civilizations would have come up with the same God. Why? Yet throughout human history there has been this universal desire to define such a deity that supposedly doesn't exist. Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour

Same as God, what a coincidence! So practically every civilization in the history of humanity has developed a concept of some type of mysterious God just for the hell of it, what a coincidence! Uh... that's exactly what I'm saying. The concept of God answers a human need for understanding what he will never understand. So he makes up answers and passes them on. So your problem seems to be with religion and how it impresses upon the masses it's own interpretation of something so personal - I agree. It is religion itself that has caused many people to suppress such inherent truth. Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour

The concept of God is innate. People use that concept in various ways - some even suppress it. Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour

If honesty really mattered, then we'd all be voting for Kasich. This whole thing just makes me sick. Of the people, by the people, for the people. . .yep, we're fucked. Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour

There you go again, promoting your demonstrably evil and false god. What do you have against free will, personal choice, personal responsibility and personal accountability? Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour

Like those that don't like ATT as much as you? Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour

I have had EXACTLY the opposite customer experience you and Normiss seem to have had with those 2 companies. Well, there's always the exception. But still, it's 2 man votes against 1 woman vote. Perhaps this should go to a poll? Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour

It's unbelievable - I never experienced anything like it. Coming from such a big company, I have to believe it's deliberate. Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour

I should add that tho I wouldn't recommend either company, I never had a problem with Verizon except the time a bad storm took out a local tower in a remote area - no biggie, shit happens. Their customer service was always prompt and effective - no problem. Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour

ATT has the worst customer service I've ever experienced - often 3rd party representatives that don't have the authority to resolve billing issues - they are designed to give you the run around. The idea is that you will grow frustrated and eventually give-up/forget about how they are screwing you. A couple years ago I signed up for a "bring your own device plan" at ATT that doesn't require a contract, nor an activation fee. They started service on my device and delayed the first bill in hopes that I wouldn't recognize how they set me up in a 2-year contract at $15 extra per month for the plan plus $5 extra per month for "miscellaneous" charges and a $50 activation fee. I called customer service and was transferred 3 times - each time having to give my information and reiterate the problem. After an an hour and a half, a young woman said that it will all be sorted out in two weeks when your first bill is due. Needless to say, the problem wasn't resolved so I called them back. Again, they tried to give me the run around and tried to "transfer" me. I said, why do you have to keep transferring me? She said, "Oh, well I don't directly work for ATT - hold on while I try to reach them." So, I'm waiting, waiting and then some guy answers, "sir, are you still there?" I said yes. He said, "ok, hold on please." I'm waiting and waiting and then he comes back on and asks if I'm still there. I said ya, still here. He said, "ok, hold on - I'm trying to patch you through." I'm waiting and waiting - the same guy answers, "sir are you still there?" I said "Ya, I'm still here and I'm not fucking hanging up until this issue is resolved so you might as well just put me through right now." I was immediately transferred and had to explain the entire problem once again. Finally it was resolved. This experience also showed me how they screw their loyal customers. Those under contract were paying $15 extra for the same plan, plus an extra $5 in "miscellaneous" fees. Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour

S4-Ep 4, eh? Just finished episode 5, watched episode 4 a little earlier. I suppose you're right - It is what it is, but they had to do something after that snore of a season last year. Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour

Worst and best things a national leader can do
Coreeece replied to wmw999's topic in Speakers Corner
You can pray to whatever deity you choose (or not at all). You can choose to be in a life-long, legal, committed relationship with whomever you want*. You can change your body (colors, hair, gender, etc). Ok, that covers the stupid people, but what about the lazy and the sick? Amazon backtracks: http://fortune.com/2016/03/05/amazon-to-restore-fire-encryption/ I love it - let the consumer control the market with their votes of dollars. Ya, nice publicity stunt... "Amazon kills fire encryption? - What's fire encryption?" "Ooooh look, Kindles are on sale!" Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour

The only dilemma I have is whether to write-in Kasich or some non-candidate that I would actually want to be president - but that really has nothing to do with my faith. I would vote for a homosexual atheist if I agreed with his idea of running a country - which I should add - has nothing to do with homosexuality nor atheism. With my two small businesses, I would build his campaign headquarters and produce his television ads - but I wouldn't want to participate in any atheistic nor homosexual activities, such as eating babies or filming his marriage to the first twink. Is that too much to ask? Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour

My bad, You claimed not to be liberal. You claimed to be a registered republican. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4778822;search_string=republican;#4778822 That's probably your problem, and why I hardly ever agree with you. I'm sorry you're so confused as to who you really are. Ya, right - as if your political preference is actually "frustrating" to me. Narcissistic delusions of grandeur - another thing you obviously have in common with Trump. Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour
